Ride The World's Steepest Funicular In Stunning 4k - Switzerland's Stoos Adventure!

- What you need to know about Stoos, the world's steepest funicular of the world :
- 110% = 47 degrees maximum gradient overcomes the funicular. World record! No other funicular in the world is steeper.
- 1500 passengers per direction can be transported in one hour. This is 500 passengers more than on the old funicular.
- The travel time is 4 - 7 minutes. Significantly less than with the old funicular. But even more important: The top station of the funicular is located in the middle of the village, right next to the skiing and hiking area - clear comfort for you!
- The funicular climbs 744 meters in altitude from Schwyz to Stoos. The best thing about it: thanks to the automatic leveling of the cabins, you are standing on a level surface at all times - very comfortable! The lift is also wheelchair accessible.
- 1740 meters is the distance from the bottom station to the top station.
- 34 persons can be accommodated in one cabin. With four cabins per car, this results in a transport capacity of 136 persons per trip.
- The planning and realization period lasted 14 years
Nestled in a beautiful alpine landscape at the foot of the Fronalpstock, the holiday village of Stoos is located on the sunny high plateau of the same name, at around 1300 m above sea level. Stoos can be reached by funicular, the steepest in the world, via Schlattli (from Schwyz, direction Muotathal) or from Morschach by cable car. With its hotels, holiday apartments and accommodation for groups, this small village is an ideal vacation spot for families with children.

How much this beautiful funicular did cost to be built?
The Stoos finucular costs 40 millions of CHF or 42 millions of €uro.

According to every Google page, Stoos is the steepest.
Yeah off course. The same as if you look for the warmest wool, it brings up "cashmere" & it's actually "yak". Everybody going to get Nobel prize learning from google! Go the brains!!!
Stoosbahn & Swiss Tourism have promoted it so much that they have flooded google’s brain! Katoomba is advetised nowhere! I’m a Botanic Biologist & i did 8 years university, if you look on google about plants, you will have no idea about them, bad info found there! Eg;Marshmellow weed…google grows up to a metre, i’ve had it on my farm at 5 metres & still growing, how far out is that info, no idea!
Amazing video. If i take cable car to fronalpstock. And hike to klingenstock. Then from klingenstock can i take cable car or chair lift down to the same place from where i started? Or it will be different
Thank you. Yes you can take cable car from Kligenstock down and you will arrive to Stoos village. We love also Fronalpstock and Stoos because it's pure and very amazing vue.

Was it too cold up or normal? Do u advice taking coat with us? And how long all journey took u?
I was in May then in Spring time. The weather was windy then I recommend a windbreaker in summer. You will be up to 1921 meters and the weather on the mountain is windy and cold. It takes 4 hours at the total, 10 minutes to go up to Stoos with finucular and 40 minutes with Cable car to Fronalpstock. I recommend to go early at the morning. Enjoy with Barkin John Vlog. No if you want to take only the funicular Stoos, you can off course. The price is CHF 23.20 per adult. After the cable car is going to fronalpstock, at the top of the mountain. Enjoy your trip on Stoos. Barkin John.

How much is the cost per ticket ?
It's 22 chf (round trip) for adults if you take just the finucular. And 50 chf for adults if you take the finucular + cable car going to Fronalpstock.
