    3:12 That looks a bit kinked at the join. Are they going to run it through the rollers again after welding to smooth it out?

    4:44 - 4:45 are those cracks in the plate? Both center of the screen and on the left side. Those look an awful lot like cracks, and serious ones at that

    These videos are painful to watch. The AI narration is out of sync of what is depicted in the video, mispronounces words, and says things that are factually incorrect. This applies to all the videos in the series.

      Yet people still watch it and believe the bs that’s being slung. I’ve worked in several different industries and this is, as you say, painful to watch.

      @@scubasteve3032 I have a question for you, since you've worked in several industries: at 4:44 - 4:45 in the video, are those cracks in the plate? Or are those something else? Both in the center of the video and on left side. Those look an awful lot like cracks but I can't imagine them not spotting that, since they're halfway through the plate. So if not cracks, what are those?

    • @scubasteve3032

      @@BinaryBlueBull the best I can tell it looks to be what is called mill scale. Mill scale is a very thin type of iron oxide that forms on steel during the process of forming it into its final shape at the steel mill. When bending/rolling said steel, it will begin to crack but has no effect on the steel itself. Kudos for catching that. Hope that answered your question.

    • @BinaryBlueBull
      @BinaryBlueBull Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@scubasteve3032 That makes a lot of sense, indeed. Much more than those being actual cracks in the plate. Funny thing is, I actually work at a (stainless) steel mill, though in IT so I don't have much to do with the actual production. I have seen mill scale before in our production environment though, when they are casting and forming the white-hot steel slabs. I just didn't make the connection but now that you mention it, that does look very similar. I appreciate you taking the time out of your day to teach me something new!

      For example. The lateral supports prevent the plate from springing back to its original shape. First, the lateral supports only help keep the rolled plate straight. Second, once bent it can't spring back to its original shape ie back to unbent. It is painful as you say. But this is not AI. It is a technology that has existed for over a decade. I used such voices in an electronic product I made back in 2008. I think it is just marketing to call it AI.
