Really nice update. I just wish they’d put the color name close to the end of the pencil so that once you’ve sharpened it down a lot, you’d still see the color name. And now it’s moved down even more. Other than that, they look great!
I agree! I used to keep my pencils raised closer to the top so I could see the name. I guess they wanted to keep their logo on it too. So many of us wanted this change so I guess we can’t be too picky. 🤣 I love them either way. I think I’d rather them all look in sync with one another. Love your videos! Watching all the time even if I don’t comment much. Always listening to you in the background or watching your flip throughs. 💕
If you want Amazon to pack in the boxes like they used to, you have to check the box at checkout that your order is a gift. Gift checked will get a box, others get the padded envelope.
Albert's customer service is awesome - he sent me some replacement pencils within days when sent a message to let him know I got a bunch of duplicate pencils in one set . He's done well with these pencils. They're gorgeous and I really appreciate the new dipped ends, even though I don't need to buy another set now.
Could you share with me how to contact the customer service? I have the same problem with buying all 180 recently, and can not find customer service info. I dont have Facebook. Thank you. 🙂
I personally reached out to him and asked if there would be a full set off all the pencils that watch and look the same because I like it to look aesthetically pleasing and he said that would be something in the near future
Really nice upgrade to the three sets you showed. I wish they'd redo all sets to make them all uniform. I don't have any yet, so I will wait until they overhaul all of them to be the same in appearance before I make my purchase. I know it seems strange, but my OCD nags me when it comes to little variations like some with big color cap tips and some with smaller.
I'm not sure that they will ever make all of them look completely uniform. I guess we will see. They are a wonderful set of pencils though, especially if you have the full complete 180 set.....so many colors!
So glad I waited to get the full set! Though I would have preferred all the writing to be in the same order across all pencils sets. "Set name/ color name/ number", so it would be easier to scan and find a specific pencil. Instead, the names get covered up by the elastic and sometimes the numbers do too... 🤔 I do really love the color dipped ends (though I don't understand why the different lengths), and the black wood makes these my favorite! 😁
Now that we have so many colors, I feel like we have quite a few blues. What kind of blues are you feeling like it’s lacking? We have so many colors to choose from now. I wonder if he’ll be adding more. If he did, this set would be HUGE! 😀

They do look much prettier when they match! 💖 It is interesting that some envelopes are actually better at protecting than some envelopes!! 🤔 Just because it is a cardboard box, that doesn't mean it will protect the contents well.
I would love to see you do color along with the skin set so I can learn to color skin with my new colors. European and African skin would be amazing to learn but I know you might not be able to do both.
Arrggg. I bought two backup sets before I heard there were updated color dipped sets. Still that is just 48 pencils out of 180 but I still haven’t started to use them. Aside from that I love my Black Widows. They are my favorite pencil. Many of them are just down to the nubs now.
Those original ones have the dipped colors almost exactly look too much similarities to each other...... just saying from my view. I also wish I have the whole full set of 180! Lol But i was only able to get the dragon set for my daughter because she wanted a set of black widow, and also plus because she loves dragons. So I used whatever extra money for her Christmas present. Lol As long she's happy is what matters to me, I rather be without the set than seeing her sad without presents on Christmas because my husband and I ended up having to cancel Christmas for ourselves so she can have a Christmas. 😍
Some channel said, you only need the Monarch dragon & dark skin tones bec there’s so many similar colors & she has 180 full set. I can’t confirm coz I don’t own black widows just curious 😅
That is so awesome that they updated their pencils! Wanted to get the BW's, but I didn't like the differences. I like uniformity in my sets as well as the quality/use. Have you been in contact with the sellers on Amazon? Will they first be selling out all the old stock before people begin to recieve the updates? I'd really like them now, but afraid to get the older style. Great vid, thanks!
Thanks for the review. I am just sick about just finishing all my BW sets, and now thy have color tips. It is so hard to find a color lead against the black woods. Why did Albert not make the new color tips the same length as the Dragon and Monarch, this seems like a wasted effort, as the tips are still different. How much would it have cost to add that extra quarter inch of color. I guess backups for the original sets.
At least these got a padded envelope! Amazon sent my 150 Prismacolor set by slapping an address label on the theft-prevention shrink wrap :/. They were MANGLED. I was on the phone to get a replacement pretty much instantly. Poor pencils, they never did nothin' to nobody. Heck, most everything I get from Amazon lately comes in just an unpadded mailer---fragile, durable, expensive, cheap, doesn't matter. Plastic envelope. Sigh. I've had so many damaged things!
Amazon had a big sale on these so I got the whole set when I only wanted to try one tin lol. I've heard great things tho I couldn't pass up like almost half off. I got the castle 120 for like 35% off too 😳
These aren't in the UK yet but I think they're prepping for them cause the sets are on sale for £8.25(~11$), which makes me think they wanna get rid of the old for the new. I'm torn on buying 2nd sets at that price but I know I'll also want the new dipped ends 😅
I may get that first set if only because it sounds like a very good company and because I've heard some excellent reviews of their pencils. However, I do wonder how well they blend using the traditional methods. Thanks again!
I realize this is an old video but wondered, if you find this comment, do you have to press hard to get good color out of these pencils? I have bad hands. I can't use the faber castels because of the pressure they require.
These pencils are wonderful and don't require hard pressure. You shouldn't have to use much pressure with the Polychromos either because when you're using oil-based pencils, you would lay down lots of light layers. They do require more patience then softer pencil.
I wasn't aware that Black Widow had changed to color dipped tips for the 1st 3 sets of their original pencils! It's a shame they didn't make all of the colored dipped tips the same style across the board though, for continuity purposes...TFS Pamela!
I wonder myself why the color dipped tips aren't the same length as the newer sets (the Dragon and the Monarch). Had they matched those sets, they could had just redone the Skin sets in the future. I am still very excited that at least they all have the color dipped tips now though. It makes them much easier for me to pull out of my case and have some idea as to what I'm pulling out.
I just got all my sets, including the dragon set, within the last 6 weeks, and they DON’T have the colored bottoms. The Dragon set, the skin sets and the newest monarch set does tho.
They just recently became available. I believe they had dropped the price for a couple weeks trying to sell out of the older sets before making the newer color dipped sets available. As of right now, they’re only available in the US.
Hello I just got the updated pencils. and noticed my Scorpion set original tanned pencil doesn't match up with the updated set . Anybody else got this .
@@PamelasPassionforPencils thank you I think the original set of Scorpion I had had some manufacturing problems they mixed my lime fruit and olive green . I would never have known if wasn't for me buying new set.
Pamela, the Amazon links you have for new Black Widows, only show the old ones with no color dipped ends. Afraid to order and get the old ones. What do we do to get the new ones?
They have not updated the photos yet. I have reached out to Albert to ask him about this. Everyone in my Facebook group who is ordering has received the new pencils. I don't believe there are any of the others left.
Being from Canada, I have ordered all the sets in the past, but now, some asshole third party are selling them, and they are double the price...so unless the owner of the company does something about this issue, most people from Canada are screwed if they want to buy them....
Oh no! They send all my coloring books in a thin envelope and my mail person shoves it into my mailbox and curls it up to get it in there. If I am lucky, I can check when I know something is coming and get it from his hands before he shoves it in there and folds it up.

If you have the ability to communicate with Albert please beg him for more blues! I’ve got have more, lol. These are terrific budget pencils!

The pencils going out in the US are the updated sets. They will be coming to the UK, Australia, etc soon.

The Black Widows blend wonderfully. Of course the paper always plays a huge role as well.
