Apparently esc can be programmed by pressing the red button 5 times
The programming only works on the OE radio, once you ditch the OE TX/RX the 5 button press thing goes away, but it does not look like you still need it after you replaced it with the Dumbo X6FG radio combo.
If you press the Esc ON button 5 Times IT goes super speed
Silly as this might sound, I actually appreciated the "we don't need screws here" mini-rant up front. I'm 44 y/o and haven't had an RC toy since the 80s. So thanks for the heads up that I'm not an idiot for tossing it. Lol.

nice review, thanks. As we communicate in other video, I'm swapping the radio with FS-GT3, here only for those buying from Aliexpress, version MJX 14210. They come ''ulocked'' full speed ESC settings - got no ''slow mode'' with 5x on-off button activation.

Hi, if you'd be so kind, I got one more question to help me. I am buying 2x FS GR3C & GR3e to tame my MJX-es down :). Original receiver on MJX got 5 slots, 3 channels and 2x VCC for two fans ( on ESC and Motor ) . I am asking if I can conect both fans on one VCC slot on GR3e ? Thanks in advance.

@@steelfury90 There are different models on the market. Only the H14BM has this full power release thing. A „normal“ 14210 mjx does not have it. It is just on full power. To get the 75km/h: 3s lipo and set the receiver on 100%. For tge H14 do this 5 times thing as well….
I never can catch this shit on sale so I just brought it 211$ including taxs on Amazon , I have more fun with smaller rc cards than this 1/8 arrma notorious v5 6s blx
Unlock FAST mode, press esc button 5 times. It comes in slow mode from factory. Check the instructions.
Does that eliminate the throttle ramping?!?! I feel real dumb if that's the case lol

Is your esc concern before or after taking or out of safe mode?
Before - taking it out of that mode should really help.
Buying my first rc car, besides the $20 Walmart special cars lol anyways im trying to decide between this and the Arrma vortek. Any opinions on which one i should go with for my first and probably only rc car?
I would suggest starting with the Arrma Vorteks. It has a lot more potential with upgrades, etc - plus it is noticeably larger in size, which makes it easier to drive in a wider variety of locations.
Just a heads-up - there are multiple variants of the Vorteks.
BOOST - this is the cheaper model. Only 2WD - but can be upgraded to 4WD. It is also brushed - so you will want to upgrade the motor and ESC at some point. But a VERY solid platform for a reasonable price: alnk.to/8EJg3L4
BLX - This is the "full" version of the Vorteks. Brushless, 4WD, etc - straight out of the box. In the long-run, going straight to the BLX is cheaper than buying the Boost version and upgrading it. But - it is more expensive, of course. Link to it: alnk.to/58q6rst

Does this have adjustable speed to turn down so a kid can play with it on the transmitter?
It has a speed limiting switch on the controller. I find kids usually find those buttons rather quickly though.
Try the paddle tires. It handles way better. No rollovers. And ESC button five times!!

FYI: a higher turn motor will be slower. Less turns = more speed.

Really good video as always! Was thinking of buying this but many people reported the delay as you did and put me really off. Also heard it handles bad and has wobbly tires? Also in my country you have to wait like 3 weeks for parts. So i got the q903 for less than a 3rd of the price of the mjx. Which one do you prefer of these 2? Also will you do a skatepark video like you did with the q903? :)
Great point! I really do like how the Q903 drives. This is more powerful than it - but the Hosim does have a better throttle control.
I thought the same thing. I almost returned it. But I tried the paddle tires and it was amazing. Even on pavement it never wobbles or flips. I use the red lettered tires as a stand for the truck.
It doesn't have wobbly tires or rims though as nails handles great for its size ( remember it is 14 th scale ) I have one and in my opinion it kicks ass
Have any of you guys tried the e revo 1/16? I have it and wonder if the mjx is more durable and what’s the difference in driving? I hate to work in my e revo and feels like I have to do a lot of upgrades to make it durable and I’ve broken the from bulkheads on both
The mini e-revo is $299 and you'll still need lipo's.

I like your review but as far as MJX goes the 1/16 is even better than this, more durable and with bigger wheels it's even more crazy than this. This however disappointed in the standing backflip department. It was showed as a standing backflip monster and it isn't so. Put the upgraded diffs and gear on the 1/16 with those wheels and it is a standing backflip monster.
As you can tell I like the 1/16 better.
I believe this truck will take a 3S lipo...and my guess is that will unlock all of the craziness.
@@RoadsideRC 3S and unlock the full power by pressing 5 times the esc button and you will have a real monster…
of course, I run them both with 3S. Still not doing standing backflips as advertised. It's not a bad truck as much as the 1/16 is just great, The 1/14 is great too only the build up for the standing backflips was over exaggerated. Still great power for a small package. @@RoadsideRC

Those are lithium ions in the case not nimh batteries.
