Another winning video, nifty piece of kit. When I first saw it I thought it might not be much good at actually cutting. I imagine that the previous owner was less than impressed with blade fitted upside down. An impressive restoration
Having done small engine repair, I recognize that eng as being basically a push mower engine, albeit a higher end engine as it has electric start. That one turned out a treat
@@tylerfrankel5374 I remember VW detuning a Porsche engine they put in the Transporter van. Barely 60 HP on the wasserbox engine. I could never figure that out.
i just want to take a moment to thank you. thanks to your videos i learned the necessairy techniques to repair our old riding-lawnmower with a honda engine, we had enjoyed riding around but had been left outside for a few years. through your videos ive been motivated to try and fix it, so i went outside and tried to start it, but it wouldnt. after a carb clean it would start but only for about a minute though sounding very rough. later i found out that he lost spark when getting warm, was given another ignition coil by a friend of my father, who like you repairs lawnmowers. now it runs very well and we can enjoy riding it again. thank you.
It was fun watching this little mower brought back to life. Watching you work and your explaining in detail has helped me not bot be afraid to tackle my own mower mechanical problems.
Very cool, turned out great. Very simple fix, i agree the “ride on push mower”. Very good name for those, they’re becoming quite popular here in the states as well.
Hey Daggerwin, where do you find the machinery you restore. I am building a workshop where I hope to do a similar thing to you as in restoring machinery etc but I can't seem to find any good deals. Love the videos, well done!!😀😀
Back in 1980 my brother brought home a 5hp Briggs 24" "Ride on" Lawnscout lawnmower brand new. Store was going out of business. I'm 6'2 tall, I mowed my parent's house for at least 15yrs. Mower stop running one day, took spark plug out ground electrode was worn almost completely off. PS had just forward , neutral and reverse and 4 non-puenmatic tires, no flats. that was one tough mower! Good luck and thanks for sharing 👍
I look forward to your videos, decent little machine you got for free. I really liked how you made the deflector work good job all around. Thanks my friend 😊
I always quite enjoy these videos you upload, they're quite satisfying to watch, and allow me to see the process of getting something running when I've run out of things to get running again
That is the English cousin of the m.t.d yard bug love the way the engine is in front instead of the back but it is in the right place to get it fixed and running again
Currently have Stiga version in the workshop. A mobility scooter with a cutter blade. Easier to take the whole engine and deck out and work on it on the bench.
Hey man. I just found your channel and I am hooked. Absolutely love your content, you've got a subscriber for life. I want to start my own small engine and mower repair shop so I look at you as a mentor.
You sir have solved a mystery, I was given a B&S engine, there were no makings on it anywhere. I hunted on the internets, asked on the forums as to what engine it was. What you show here is what appears to be the same engine that I have. I now know what model to say when I am looking for parts (namely head gasket) Mystery solved.
Nice job! The carburetors on those Briggs Intek engines are notorious for passing fuel and contaminating the crankcase oil due to the poor design (no outward pitch or fuel weep hole). It’s usually best to put a fuel shutoff valve in the supply line and close it after use. Neat little rider, I like the discharge chute deflector too!
🤣😂 **gigglesnortgiggle** 😂🤣 It looks like a geriatric mobility scooter 😋😏 Thumbs Up on the revival of this goofy looking mower ..Very Well Done ! 👍👍 😇❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
From across the pond. My friend from St. Ouen, Jersey and I do the same thing. She locates them, I retrieve and repair, while she does "the hair and make-up", appearance sells. Seems that we had a similar unit here, referred to as the "doodle bug", no relation the one from the 40s Thanks. Narragansett Bay
i was a lawnmower mechanic in the 70s for a major catalog store. one customers brought in his top-of-the line riding mower. when i checked the oil, a gas/oil mix poured out. i disassembled the carb and found a pinhole in the brass float. when i pulled the head, the cylinder was scored badly and the engine was ruined. i told the store manager to get him a new mower, but she didn't want to. she bought his mower and took it home only to find it was ruined just as i had said. you should leave all the plastic crap off as it is not necessary.
Neat little mower and I like the deflector but I would cut the left leg off and make the right one a few inches longer. The shroud near the blade on the right side just below the shifter has a hole through it. And I really dig your little welding machine 👍
Great and entertaining video. When i put a new tube in the wheel i always inflate it a little before i fix the tyre. This way the tube sets correctly inside the tyre.
Great video as always. As an observation only, I'd try a smaller deflector at less of an angle-one that would allow the grass to disperse/fall more "naturally" i.e., no clumpy lines.
Excellent video Machinery Restore :) and yes that cool Lawn Tractor Mower never seen one blade but lots 2 or 3 blade ones and not that make! On home in my childhood years in 1980's my uncle Bill bought one used model to use home farm for 2 flat ditches also farm house and house trailer to cut grass was 5 acres worth each week! The one had was 1970's of lime green called Aries Built by Firestone with 42 bed 2 blades with 8 hp Briggs & Stratton 8 hp no electrical start or headlights also Synchmatic transmission daul pedal plus handle with under seat Foward left , middle Netural, right was Reverse ! 1 litre of Engine Oil 10w30 type no Engine Oil filter was strange and fuel tank 2 gallon only in plastic tank! Sat over engine too ! To shut off engine was choke and throttle lever ! Start in Netural gear lever plus handle in Park section with Throttle to Choke when start put slow and but want deck put fast postion in middle only needed! Was fun to drive and used too! So cool like this one !
It's just like I dreamt it could be 😊😊😊. Mr. Machinery Restorer uploading with less than a week in between. Life is complete 😁. Next step - one every day 😂😂😂. Great stuff dude. As ever. Lovely bit of fab work on the grass plate 👏👏👏. 😎
Fantastic video! That has to be the smallest riding mower I have ever seen. If your having issues with it starting right away, check the valve lash. Those intek engines are notorious for the valve lash to go out of spec which makes them hard starting.
You know it’s a good day when machinery restorer uploads
And twice in one week! Might have to go and buy a lottery ticket lol!
And this one looks like he got it for free because of it’s shape, many use free as click bait sadly.
Yep

Only if the upload is a restoration video, not a shitty "Can I fix it" or "Will it start".
Love the custom work on that deflector, plus it is great to see another ride on mower up and running, keep up the great work 😃👍

I was thinking the same thing lol 6.5 hp is nothing for a rider guess things are different across the pond

@@tylerfrankel5374 many of the little riders here in the US use similar engines, but the larger rear engine riders are more common.

They’re really not and there’s only 2 on the market priced higher than a 42” deck mower.
My grandad has one of these.
I’ve got some good memories of helping mow the law on it.
Nice job with the deflector, and with that short wheelbase it comes close to a zero-turn mower also!
Thx for showing!
👍👍👍

That mower came back to life nicely! There is a hole in the deck that you should patch up also as grass was blowing out of there pretty good at times.
That's a nifty little mower. Glad you were able to get it working again. Reminds me of a modern day Snapper rear engine lawnmower.
Great video, great photography and editing, clear narration. And a great finished result. One of the best I've seen on CZcams. Thank you.
Daggerwin another great video!! Thank you for sharing with us. I love watching all your videos you explain your steps so well!
Excellent, as usual Sir👍👍👍

Great video rear deflector worked great 👍
Indeed. The deflector is the only thing that will work on this god damned machine in 6 months. (I have the same model)
Bonus video. Thank you.
Beautiful restoration mister good job well done
my friday nights are vastly different to how they were in the 90's
A very well done job!
It's really good U got it running again and cool deflector that mower like a little gokart
Interesting mower so light. Ideal for small yards. As always I enjoy your videos.

A loose tea holder for your cupper in the mornin' works great for all the wee parts you put into the sonic washer.
What a cool little machine. Cheers from Canada.

Really great video as always! What I do when I replace an inner tube is that I inflate it slightly just to reduce the chances of pinching it
That honestly mows a lot better than I was expecting for something that tiny!
Great video. The rear grass discharge is a nice feature.
Another great job, cheers
It’s very modest and tidy
Top Job well done

Nice. As silly as those little mowers are I love the simplicity of the design. All you really need for a small yard without much slope.
Great video bringing it to life 🙌 keep uploading videos please

For small mower that's a very nice cut
Much luck with your find great job most this side wouldn't bother with it only those in need be safe Peace
The little mower operated very well.
Nice job, really like the deflector. Changing the belts on those is a pig of a job, got lucky on that one

Great work daggerwin love all your videos and I watch all your fs22 and fs19 videos
Awesome video! I noticed the deck has a rust hole on the right side.
On ours it has a tube for the bagging system and we just cut a hole in a pan that fit over the tube snugly and it works but it does leave a mess
It looks like an Elderly scooter!

I was wondering if you were going to fix that hole that's in the mower deck?
Great video as usual, please do a video on a small zero turn , thank you
