Possible to steal one in the Chapter 3 quest An Honest Mistake
If you know any more sites with useful information, let me know so I can add it to the list. - Hry
Had a palomino dapple that killed her last owner, named her Arcadia. She was my favorite but got hit by a train đą. The next quest I did was Arcadia for Amateurs.... too soon
Oh god, luckily there is no mission named Sleipnir or else Iâd be pretty sad, at least he died with Arthur
You could've just loaded your last saved game to when you still had her
Ive only really played online... I couldnt imagine losing a horsey forever :(
The palomino dapple is my favorite horse in the game. I have the level 20 Norfolk roadster and I still use the palomino more. I love this damn horse.
Lost my shire âChiefâ the same way. Sorry for your loss.đđ€
You're freaking amazing. Seriously, great journalism all around and I'll be right back - just checking out the rest of your videos!
On my second playthrough I decided to try and keep one horse alive the entire story. I decided on a standardbred and named her Abba. I found her in the encounter where the guy's head is kicked. Great horse, used her for fourty hours or so. Until tragedy struck. I was selling pelts to the trapper near strawberry when she strayed to the campfire. I was listening to music so I didn't hear anything. Then I turn around and see this horrifying sight of my beloved Abba laying on the ground, her flesh completely charred. She went up like someone slicked her entire body in oil. I tried to find another horse but it wasn't the same. So I restarted the playthrough. And once again at the same spot, there she was caving that dude's skull in by the side of the road. I never thought I would be so happy to seea virtual animal in my entire life.
Edit: Btw I did load the save but she was still dead.
Other edit: also It was not the first time I played thought the game, I was trying to do one where I kept the same horse the whole time.
Trent Reid what version Is it?
Should of just loaded a save or turned your console on and off smh u don't got gotta go and find a whole ass new horse lol
Even I found a Standardbred from the guy who was kicked lol. I think she likes me more than that boomer
Where even is that guy located, is it twin stack pass? Iâve been looking for him spawning
Didnyou not buy the horse reviver?
I just love watching horses in RDR2. They did such a grand job at animating them.
I've watch just about all of your videos and I love them! Unlike most CZcamsrs, you get right to the point instead of dragging it on by repeating the same information over and over. You've clearly done your research and took the time to craft a well thought out and helpful video.
My ONLY tiny, tiny nag I have is that you might want to be careful with some of the gameplay footage that you use, or possibly put a spoiler tag/warning in the beginning of your videos. The game has been out for 3+ months, but there are plenty of people that didn't play it during launch or have not finished it yet, and will probably look to your videos and may be spoiled by some of the footage, or the locations you mentioned.
In spite of that l thoroughly enjoyed all the videos I was able to watch of yours, and am more than happy to subscribe. Please keep them coming! :)
Yeah you're right about the spoiler-ish footage. I'll see if I can modify my upcoming breed overviews to minimise as many spoilers as possible! Thanks for the feedback blkplauge :D
If you have any suggestions for extra content in the videos, feel free to throw any ideas my way.
Daneliecasts I donât think you spoil anything. But if youâre concerned, just put a spoiler warning.
Thereâs no way you can do these videos without having mentioning certain things.

Iâve watched every overview, your videos are so good and helpful
I love this breed and I really LOVED that black horse. Nice video by the way, keep it up.
I always have a solid black standardbred named Blackjack everytime i play. He bucked me only once during a wolf ambush and that is it. It's such a gorgeous horse in the sunlight and i love mine online too x3
Definitely my favorite horse. Beautifully done.
Wow!...this overview is top-notch very well put together. Thank you.
Awesome stuff, been waiting for another one of these. I wouldn't say I've got an unhealthy obsession with RDR2 horses but I kinda do! This is one of my favourite breeds in the game, may be related to RDR1 nostalgia but the Black American Standardbred has been one of my 5 mounts on every one of my playthroughs so far. Another great video, curious to see which breed you'll review next!
I always like the wild horses rather than stable-bought, it just feels more natural in the roleplay for some reason. I just got a Buckskin standardbred and I love him
The regular buckskin is my BABYYY
Same. Used it almost entirety of single player story. She was a good lass.
Years later, I still love these videos.
My second horse in my first playthrough, after the Tennessee Walker from Chapter 1, was the Palomino Dapple that you get from Valentine. I got him during the mission "Exit Pursued by a Bruised Ego" with Hosea, and never regretted it. I named him Sander because the dapple made him look like he had been rolling in the sand. Losing that horse felt like a gut punch from a Terminator. I'm on my 4th playthrough, I think, and I haven't been able to bring myself to get another Palomino Dapple because nothing will ever compete with Sander. I also had a Black one in another playthrough that I named Diablo. Such a great breed all around.
Hey @Danielcasts !! I just noticed this morning that they have FIXED the Silver-tail. I've been so obsessed with Criollos and Kladrubers that I did not even notice these past weeks. Now one of my all-time favorite horses is finally more healthy like it ought to be. They also increased the acceleration to match the speed stat - so now it makes FAR more sense. You're paying a lot more gold for a more health, more stamina and more acceleration but sacrificing just a little bit handling. This horse now better than ever!
Sadly, the silver tail buckskin is Seanâs horse, so itâs impossible to get it as Arthur because itâs a âgang horseâ
You can get it at stables in new Austin
Certain gang horses are available to purchase in the epilogue
@@addicted2diesel271 I got the silver tail buck skin as arthur in chapter 2. With the lasso glitch
@@futuregohan9662 does that glitch still work?
ADDiCtED 2 DiESeL yep it still works last time I played which was two weeks ago
Love my black standardbred
Mine is a mean horse, sheâs killed other horses, boars , gators etc.
She doesnât get scared by predators, sure she will huff but she wonât buck me like an Arabian, very good in combat too.
Yeah I tested my black boah his name is roger and Lv 4 bonding, he does will and he will hold him self a lot especaily when I calm him
@Dax P the only one problem is thier 6 max health which isn,t too bad if you asked me but if Ur heading to bloody battle I don,t think they are the best, how ever they look AMAZING
my andalusian has killed almost every wild horse I've caught. He is really against being replaced. I start to ride away, whistle for him to follow, and every single freaking time he side swipes them, sending me flying and instantly killing the horse I was riding. I've settled to having him until the end, he's earned it
@@pyschogambitable I got the bay one and named it super mario. He saved me from the O'Driscolls he was a good boah
I love warhorses but my new female black standardbred didn't buck me off while hunting. We killed 3 panthers, a pack of wolves, even a grizzly bear! beautiful and brave.
I used the buckskin through almost the whole main story. Named her Kincesm and never got thrown once. She was a great horse.
I bought this horse because it was available in a solid black coat, which had me so excited. However, he seemed to spook at any every thing and I just couldn't take it. So far my seal brown Breton has been the BEST boy! Dependable, brave, and speedy with upgrades. I love him so much!
I love watching these videos. Also when you give the American standard in the Valentine stables brown hair and the grizzly saddle. Looks like a really awesome looking horse. Just Sayingđ
Apart from Mustangs, American Standardbreds are my favourite horse breed in this game, especially black ones :) I love the fact that they're not only fast but also huge as heck, especially when you make them rear up
Great info thanks! đ
I bought the Silvertail Buckskin yesterday and named him Ennis II after Seanâs old horse đđđ» he hasnât bucked me off yet from predators! I even encountered a cougar and he didnât freak out that much.
I love the black standardbred. So beautiful! I usually perfer horses with markings, but this is an exception. It's impossible to find if I look for it though. Like with the blood bay thoroughbred - if I look for them I will never find them lol. But if I'm lucky they suddenly pop up lol
In my first playthrough, i bought a palomina dapple. Had it until Chapter 6, never used another one. His name was Callus. Such a good boy... with great stats and a beautiful coat.
Saint Denise horse spawn got the silver tailed buck skin so beautiful had him since chapter twofold can get the black one in the wild for free in the heartlands or big valley area,oh and I love you and your videos
I'm on my third play through, and I have always have my black standardbred stallion, Jet. (And sometimes my black mare, Onyx) He is stunning and brave and loyal. I deck him out in an all black saddle, and Arthur looks awesome when he rides Jet dressed all in black! Badass!
I just raced a dude on the black standardbred and I couldn't recognize it. It's gorgeous so I had to steal it lol
The all black AS and the silvertail AS are both very brave at level 4. Atleast in story mode. Great horses..Beautiful
I always catch a wild horse at the beginning of new playthroughs and use them the rest of the game.
This time I caught a black american standard.
It's one of my all time favorites so far, I named him Outlaw
You can get an American Standardbred from the Javier mission where you rub a hillbilly family's farm.
I have two black standardbred horses in the stables. My female is named Raven and my male is Zeus. Both are at max bonding.
Love your sweet voice, but really a big fan of details and the contents
Replaying the game and I was thinking of getting an American Standardbred and I knew which video to come watch đ»đż
Love your video.
"Stunning Silver Tail Buckskin"
No one:
The horse: *POOPING*
I bought a palomino dapple in my current playthrough and bought her in the very beginning of the game when going on the hunting trip with Hosea. I named her "Golden Spots" and she was my companion ever since.
Regardless of all the horses I buy I always go back to my Palomino Dapple (His name is Houdini). I just really like the control!
I Have a white-tailed one, named Bucking- I Love him, even thought his stats arent amazing yet i love him!
Oh wow that Dapple Pali đ I have no clue where/why Rockstar got those coat colors, but I love them
My beloved Buckskin Standardbred is named Hickory and I could not love that horse more. Multiple times Iâve tried playing story mode with a different horse, but I always end up with my Hickory.
Itâs worth noting that sometimes American Standardbreds will spawn in next to Wallace Station when fast traveling. Usually just up the hill heading northwest towards Little Creek/Hanging Dog, at the small nearby bridge, or even directly next to the station. They will usually always head north or northwest to avoid the train. I fast travelled to Wallace with the intent of heading north for the black coat and low and behold one spawned in right next to the train as it came into the station lol. This has occurred twice in my current playthrough so keep your eyes peeled upon the arrival cutscene as they may be right there running on the left hand side of the screen (right hand side of the train)
I like the silver tail in Memory of Sean Favourite character in the game.
skiteers can you get it as Arthur?
@@vizualwarrior129 Yes, unistall your game, then reinstall, then run the older versions. It'll take some time, but you will eventually get it. Then after you get what you want just update the game
Or you can be like me and have no good internet and not get the recent updates (which kinda sucks)
Been using a black American Standardbred, level 4, for a few days now. This horse spooks at nothing and doesn't care that she is shot near to death.
Same xD mine's fearless
Lol I wish. I have a buckskin variant and she's scared of her own shadow. She basically runs by herself whenever I'm in a shootout though, which is pretty sweet
I love the pure black Standardbred, def one of my favorite horses in the game. In the epilogue they're pretty common in New Austin and I stole 2 from the Del Lobos and one from Armadillo. It was just standing there and I stole it lmao. Such good horses! Not the best, I agree, but I don't care much abt stats anymore, I just ride the horses I think look cool! Wish we could own more though. 4 is not enough.
I have the black one and I looove him. He is my dream horseđâ€ïž
My girl Butters is that palomino dapple. Got her near the start of chapter 2, and she's been my loyal horse ever since. Perfectly fits my play style of avoiding conflict, lol. She's only bucked me off once and that was when the Lemoyne raiders ambushed me with an explosion. She didnt even run away! I was able to just get back on and run the hell away. Ive tried other horses, but none are as good and reliable as my Butters. Even dyed her mane and tail black, making her look quite unique!
The all Black Standard is just gorgeous and silky smooth đ€€ Ugh I know they aren't the fastest or strongest but the beauty and the temperament is so good I just can't help myself switching back to it đ
my black standard didn't buck me off when I killed 3 panthers & a pack of wolves unlike the warhorses that I also have. I gave her the name Nymeria, the warrior queen in Game of Thrones, beautiful & brave.
I know the fox trotters are way better than the standardbred , but I just fell in love with my black American standardbred I had two, my good boah who I named black beauty, and my current one maleficent. Idk if the gender has anything to do with it, but my female was much more calm and less skittish than my male one
I have that horse (Palomino Dapple) and even tough that there are better horses, I still love and use that horse!
My horse's name is Rapidash (reference to Pokemon)
Rodrigo Carvalho Iâve got one too named Dandelion
@@hianna-nh4vd Nice!
My horses name is dickbutt
I had the same one since chapter two I once had 6 k and could buy 5 Arabians but I didnât cuz I loved my horse named Jonas the end of the game broke me
The good horse is the one you like, not the ones that other likes
Absolutly beautifull creature. im so gonna get my hands on one
You're correct - you CAN get a Silver-Tail from a lawman but it's *very* rare. It's a random rider spawn as well which is why it works with the more recent horse-thieving "glitch, though it's not really a glitch so much as an exploit. I've gotten 3 in playthroughs beginning early as Chapter-2.... two from the thieving method, and one random from a lawman. Both work fine and can nab you the Silver-tail (or most other rare breeds), but it can take a very long while. :) There are quite a number of video showing how it's done, but here are the bullet points:
- go to a location where you can find cover away from towns/populations off trail.
- find a lone horse riding traveler (a pair of riders will work as well but that's a bit more complicated)
- lasso the rider off the horse (their horse should bolt), then immediately release and turn and shoot with a revolver somewhere *not* lethal
(do NOT kill them - you just want them aggro)
- ride away a short distance then turn to face them (preferably ride away from the road trail into a space difficult for other witnesses to see)
- they will have given chase (in most cases) on a newly spawned, random horse breed
- if you like the horse, take it. :)
Btw.... your horse video are essentially the best-done on YT. Well done.
I did the glitch and got the silver tail buck skin in chapter 2
My palomino dapple dosent bolt at wolves/bears/cougars etc... Bart, Iâm proud of u đ
Second horse I bought was the palomino dapple, love it
Bought this horse during hoseaâs mission, named her Freya and loved that horse still heartbroken when I lost her.
I found 2 of these horses up north where that side dirt road leads to the cabins west (and American paints) west of the river
The All Black standardbread is one of my favorite horses
On my first playthrough, I met the man fixing the Dapples shoe. I Had already picked the horse I was planning on riding around- but after chasing after the poor thing, who caved the man's head in. I deemed her Athena, and Absolutely Fell in love. She lived through my entire first playthrough and I will forever adore her. (we only had one mishap with a Train but a 5minute beforehand Save, kept me from ruining my First run.)
I cried like a baby at the end.
On my second (and the third) run- I got the same Encounter. I love her more than life itself at this point.
When I picked up online- my first Horse besides the ones the Game Gives you, was The Black Standard, His name is Hades. And he's been my companion for the past 8 months now. Best Horse I probably own.
also has and another option in part 2 in the mission of uncle when a blackwater man discovers you and you take a horse that is not yours
go left of valentine to wallace station and head directly left till you hit a lavender field, here you can find nokota and american standard bred most often
I love the black one, is beautiful.
The all black standardbred is beautiful.. had to get one but be sure to ready your semi auto shotgun whenever wolves attack
Great review. First time I hear someone mention this gap between the horse guide and real life stats (Silver Tail Buckskin), which is something I noticed quite a while ago. I am planning to buy that horse in online. Hopefully R* gets it patched.
Still my favourite horse, the solid black American standardbred
Got the Palomino Dapple that kicked his owner near the camp (down river side) so early in chapter 2, that I didn't have a stable yet & couldn't change saddle from the Tennessee Walker we're starting with. It's at bond 2 & hitched at camp for now. From riding it a bit, it's a huge improvement on the TW starter horse.
My black american standardbred doesn't even buck me off at grizzly bears, she's an amazing horse.
I just ran into the guy with the dapple palomino and took his horse while out looking for mustangs lol, letâs just say I never found the mustang, and have a brand new horse.
My black mare with level 1 bonding was so much braver then my level 3 thoroughbred from the start. Love her.
Decided to tame the Buckskin last night. Quickly got swarmed by Arf-Arfs, and he didnât even throw me off. I may have found my new favorite wild horse.
I loved my palamino Butterscotch, I donât know what happened but my game kicked me back to colter so I havenât found her again but she was such a good girl
Fun Fact: my first ever horse (that you buy with Hosea) was palomino dapple standardbred...miss that time where i don't know anything about horse in this game
I love the Palomino dapple
the first horse i bonded with was the one you buy in valentine and named him spirit. I had till chapter 4 where he got stuck between a fence and the train and died. i was really upset cause he was a good horse and my only one at the time
Damn this thing was the king in RDR1, they really did him dirty here
I got a black standardbred in the heartlands, right outside of camp. There was a guy along the road cleaning itâs hooves and the horse kicked him and bolted. I noticed the kick didnât kill the guy, so I was gonna bring it back to him, until I noticed it was a solid black đ¶ Sheâs mine now.
I just got a black standardbred from a random NPC camp just near the stable near Emerald Ranch.
My favourite breed of horses so far.
Large but still athletic alongside Race handling but sadly ill-suited for pro-longed combat. Still won't give up on these beauties though.
The Dapple looks so pretty with a black mane and tail.
Love my black standard!
where you get it?
g v I donât remember in story mode because itâs been awhile. I also got it online as well. I just love the look of that horse
Early in my second playthrough, I got the dapple palomino after she killed her owner. I named her Bullet and loved her a lot but I stupidly ran into some random dude in the middle of a trio of npcs and ended up getting stuck in the middle of them all shooting me. Bullet didnt survive and I still feel bad for getting my beautiful girl killed like that.
I have a black one named Ebony. She is the bravest horse I had and a beauty đ
A lot of people hate it when horses buck them off while hunting , but I prefer hunting on the ground for clean kills. And I don't like getting into gunfights outside of missions, so I'm usually ok with any horse that isn't too small. (Morgans and Arabians)
I Stole the jet black standerdbred who was resting near a camp half way through my play through, she was absolutely perfect and i named her Twilight, after reaching bonding level 3 i decided it would be fun to see how was she was like near predetors so i headed into the forests near the Dakota river and found myself surrounded by a hungry and angry wolf pack, the first wolf bolted straight towards me and Twilight but I managed to gun it down without her bucking or moving at all, a cougar ran right under her and she stood there, agitated but perfect, i still can't believe she is a race horse because she certainly does not act like one.
I had a palomino dapple standardbred in my first play through. I SO wanted a black horse that I replaced her with a black Arabian from the Saint Denis stables, and I donât really remember much about the Arabian, but I remember my standardbred :)
Oh whilst looking for my black American standardbred (in the wrong place I might add lol ) I came across a tiger striped bay! On the Montana river just east of that reservation school, there was also another mustang umm a something dun... That's extremely rare in itself but the reason I was looking there is that's where I got my black American standardbred the first time so perhaps that's a glitchy place that sometimes spawns rare horses. I of course broke the tiger striped bay and named her Montana she's a cool little horse and I got my American standardbred in the end to lol from little creek within two minutes, it really helps if you look in the right place.
I loooove this horse.
I was being chased by lawmen in New Austin as Arthur and a lawman showed up with a silver tail buckskin.
You get the pure black Standardbred for looks, the Thoroughbred/Turkomen for speed, the Andalusian for balls, and the Shire/Ardennes for being solid as a rock. Add Buell, the albino Dutch Warmblood, for sentimental value.
My 3rd play through I had that black Standardbred that you race against near Valentine, where guy guy berates and threatens the horse after he loses. I lassoed that jerk and took his horse. I named her âArizonaâ and she stuck with Arthur to nearly the last few missions. I stabled her because I couldnât bear the thought of losing her. After the Epilogue, John found a horse that looked exactly like her, running wild in the desert. I caught her and renamed her âOld Arizonaâ and added some gray hairs to her mane. Sheâs Johnâs ONLY horse now and forever.
The Standard has proven to be my favorite breed in the game. Theyâve proven to be relatively brave for a racer, with decent health and stamina for a jack-of-all-trades kind of horse. Arizona was a racer, a hunter, and a fighter. She did all the horserider challenges, an entire campaign and beyond.
Oml i didn't know the Silver Buckskin one was a standard type. Oof.
Think youâre right never seen a lawman with a silver tailed buckskin
If you want the Buckskin Standardbred you can get it through the mission Polite Society, Valentine Style and if you want the Black Standardbred you can find a guy with a Black Standardbred named Ariel somewhere in the Cumberland Forest who will want to race you, once the race is over lasso him off the horse and it for your own
I love the black one
While I was fighting lawmen, I saw a very big buttermilk buckskin K. Saddle, but the body and shape didn't look like it. I dispatched the lawman riding it and focused on it. It said 'STUDY - Q HORSE' I thought I already studied the coat already? Once I studied and rode it, it said it was a 'Light Buckskin' American Standardbred. I thought to search YT but nobody was talking about it.
I got mine from chez point after robbing the homestead with Javier
I always play with the black one. His name is Uhtred the Bold. Although he does get scared..he does not throw me. Ever. Heâs bold, indeed. & whenever I whistle for him, he comes running & all the way up to me. I love that.
My Favorite Horse
**slight main story spoilers**
if anyone doesn't know, the silver tail buckskin was previously Sean's horse named Ennis.
