why does it surprise you that he has encountered Jesus and met with him or even been shown the spirit realm ? It depends on the context. In private it is ‘a sinner’, and in church is ‘the sinner’.

From my experience, as an Evangelical (European though), many of us are attracted by various Orthodox Church teachings and behaviour.
There are even some Pentecostal, Adventists, Baptis, (etc) that invite Orthodox Priests/Bishops to preach and teach in their Churches.

Former Christian atheist here. (coming from APs channel haha) I'm deeply touched by Bishop still preaching forgiveness, and love after everything. Christianity is unique in how much it emphasises love forgiveness and humility. I have always loved that.
I used to be an Atheist, then Agnostic, b/c I simply thought Christians were ignorant of the facts, but I was envious of the faith. I really wanted Christian faith & a purpose for life but couldn't become a Christian b/c I knew I couldn't just lie to myself and just have blind faith. I thought that faith and truth were two separate things.
God blessed me with both, and I gave my life to Jesus last year. I knew of my problem sinfulness for a while, but I never knew of an answer until Jesus.
So trust me when I say that He is real, and He loves you. I know as an Atheist, I'd shake my head at a statement like that bc id be like "He isnt real", but He is. There is so much evidence, you only need an open mind to see it. I remember being blown away at the fact that the rate of occurrence of names in the NT was extremely similar to the rate of occurrence of names in Jewish obituaries in the 1st century BC and AD. Like how tf do you fake that before the Printing press. Hell, that'd be difficult now.
I think the Lord is calling you man. Not just to believe He exists and is Lord (even the demons believe that) but to turn from sin and follow Him. Idk what you need to realize it, but I pray that you find it one day.

I was shocked to hear yesterday that the bishop almost met the Lord face to face in the attack on his life Monday. It is one thing to say you do not fear death and are ready to die, it is an entirely another thing to have a teen age Muslim attacker with a knife test your conviction. I am a protestant, and I listen to Mar Mari all the time. He has a heart for all Christians, and feels that is most important for you to have Jesus in your heart above all. All of his sermons are beautiful and I suggest anyone go and watch them. He’s a true and honorable servant of God. His sermons have helped me greatly through difficult times. Look for a spiritual Father or Mother in your life that loves Christ as this Bishop does.

I used to be a very angry judgemental person. But as time goes by and I focus on Christ I slowly transform and give judgement to him. My response is changing from anger, to horror and sorrow. I believe anger in me is self righteousness.
What I'm saying is some changes take time, sometimes a long time. Especially if you are clinging to something that is causing the difficulties yourself.
The key is perseverance.
You will have a few dark days ahead. Don't give up and persevere.
Trust the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding.
You grab that robe of Jesus in your mind and pray for discipleship. Then go to a church praying on the way for a personal prayer partner to be revealed to you and ask when you get there for prayer over you. Ask for a mentor. If they can not provide a mentor or respond without Godly love and concern get up and go to another church. Jesus saves yes, but he expects some effort from us too. If you have believing family members go humble yourself and ask for help. You were who you were mud and all the sin we all have dripping from us like swamp fluids. I tell you Jesus has a power washer that runs on a level we find hard to understand. He will make you clean of your past through his followers and His Word you will be discipled and made to stand on the rock foundation that does not shake and does not fear the mud making it dirty. You can overcome.❤

I've never in my life had such revelations about my FAITH. I have been PRAYING to GOD to show me how a CHRISTIAN lives on a daily basis and I believe he has shown me this man. Bishop Emmanuel. I grieve about his experience with an extremist Muslim. I don't want him to be killed by anyone. I know he has no fear in death, and that's what tears me up. I finally found someone who does not waiver in his FAITH in JESUS CHRIST. I PRAY to GOD, that he will protect the Bishop from any harm. I admire him and his teachings, but I know not to over step the boundaries between idolatry and plain old love and respect. Where did he come from, I wonder? I just can't believe my whole life of 55 years I've never found someone so engaged with GOD, and has many answers which people ask questions about continually. We come from the same church started by Jesus and only split a thousand years later. How the church leadership is organized is the only obvious difference to me and i don't think makes much of a difference to regular Christians that will probably never meet the pope or a patriarch anyways.
Everything the bishop said is the truth. His courage is a reflection of Christ through the Holy Spirit.

Even his description of Jesus as 6'1" with shoulder-length hair and a small beard matches the Shroud of Turin's image of Jesus. And David backed up all of the bishop's claims about the Quran and Muhammed.

He then equated the guidance with 'law', which is incorrect because guidance by definition is an acceptance by the Creator of its efficacy not to mention the fact that JC clearly instructed his followers to keep to the 'law'! I would further submit that the Bishop has respectfully misunderstood the contents of the Bible in relation to actions and their origin.

Don’t give up Mark keep praying 6 years ago I had a Ischemic and a Hemorrhagic stroke on consecutive days they told my wife I had a 15% chance of pulling thru but 5 days later I woke up she prayed constantly and Jesus answered her prayers. I have some deficiencies but I’m alive because of Jesus Christ. So I’ll pray for your father to pull thru your not alone brother. ☝️☝️🙏🙏🙏🙏
