A golden retriever saved my father's life. He was in his mid 60s, semi-retired with a part time job in a local bakery. He got up about 5:00, when my mother was still asleep. One such day an undetected aortal aneurysm ruptured. Bleeding to death internally, and no one knew.
Their retriver, upset at his strange behavior, started barking. Got my mother's attention, she rode in the ambulance to emergency surgery. Three weeks in critical condition, the surgeon said he was one of some 7% to survive such a rupture.
My father lived another 23 years because of that retriever.

When my Dad was dying of cancer, our Golden would go through and sit beside him while the nurses were working on him. He didn't growl or anything, he just sat there. I don't know if he was giving comfort or what, he just wouldn't move. We lost him 2 years almost to the day my Dad passed. Broke my heart.
His head alone is bigger than either kitten. Always amazed when little kitties completely trust big dogs. 🙂

I guess makes sense that if everything is bigger than you, size isn’t an indicator of threat level.
It’s about the energy a being emits not the size. I have seen many small people with the most violent energy.
They trust humans, who are usually even bigger...

Buddy just wanted their attention. A bit of interaction and he was a happy boy.

That dog has a beautiful soul. You can see it in his eyes. My cats and dogs are best friends. To me, this is pure heaven!

I’ve had all kinds of breeds of dogs but the golden retriever is top dog. They are used as therapy dogs, rescue dogs etc ! They’re awesome !!!
