- These are a handful of the dozens and dozens of Fire Emblem characters with goofy supports leading to some absolutely golden character development. In this video, I take a look at 5 fire emblem characters and highlight the moments in their talk/supports which unveil their personalities in a funny way. This video contains spoilers for the following Fire Emblem games: Fire Emblem: Binding Blade, Fire Emblem: Blazing Sword, Fire Emblem: Path of Radiance, Fire Emblem: Radiant Dawn and Fire Emblem: Awakening.

@@coralieboucher7736 Is that right? I know that it is the language they use for magic but I seem to remember them saying that they only memorize the words they need to use their spells. I don't even know if they only know the spelling/pronunciation or if they know the meaning too. I might be wrong though. Been I while since I played that game.

The support between Gaius and Sumia was golden. Right up until their A-Support she thinks he wants to eat Bee larvae. Which sounds pretty disgusting in my opinion. And Gaius just wanted the honey from the bees. And she even throws a beehive at him! God, Awakening was great.
Gaius and Nowi is, uh, interesting, when you take the moment to step back and remind yourself what their relationship is mostly predicated on.

Gaius mocks Tharja's curses and she goes out of her way to try to curse him only to realize "Wait, he's really freaking hot, what the f-" and I find that absolutely hilarious.
That's actually the main reason I S-support them: Gaius is the only man, that I know of, that can actually take Tharja's mind off of Robin for an extended period of time. Kudos to you, Gaius the Heart-Stealer

The Devdan support with Largo is so hilarious, it seems like something straight out of Heroes rather than a game like the Tellius games. If Devdan gets into Heroes, Nadved better be mentioned or referenced.

I'm worried about Devdan/Danved getting into heroes because that means an official voice, but he'll always have mekkah's voice in my head.
Laurent is one of my brother's favorite characters in Awakening. He's so overlooked compared to all the other children (he's the only one missing from FEH too if you discount Inigo and Severa). Our favorite support with him is M!Robin's where they talk about his fascination with collecting tomes that make useless magic such as "conjuring palm-sized whirlwinds" , "a light spell with a complicated incantation that ends as soon as you mess up" and "telepathy that only works at arm's length while the caster holds their breath"
In the A support, he finds a new tome that makes *TINY RAINBOWS!*
I absolutely loved these supports, they were so funny and both the palm sized whirlwind and tiny rainbow just sound adorable to visualize.
I love Laurent! He's so underappreciated! I can see that people think he's male Miriel, but I think he's more caring about his allies! I hope he gets into FEH soon.

I'm not sure if this would count as a weird characterization but Miriel and Stahl's support where you find out that no matter what Stahl does he will stay perfectly average was pretty funny.
i do find it somewhat interesting. it shows that he is so average that the rest of the army uses him as a sort of measuring stick, so if he improves, they improve in turn. my personal favorite moment there is when miriel guilt trips him into continuing his training. while i know where they come from, i feel like people ignore certain supports when they accuse miriel or laurent of being bland. at least they are not like kellam, who has absolutely no character outside of his defining quirk
I like Miriels support with Viron as well where he keeps tricking her into believing he can predict the future.
I personally prefer Miriel's supports with Frederick, especially the S support. It really shows how Miriel is not just about all facts and logic, she can understand romance as well. And I honestly felt Miriel and Frederick were quite similar in personality.
That was actually the first S support I unlocked in Awakening (except for Chrom's, of course). I felt so bad for the guy that I restarted to get him another partner.
That was actually the first support conversation that I had with two different characters that wasn’t Chrom and Robin.
I love how Roy its said to have depression in some supports while Trec is worried about being a horse in a dream, perfect

Her Vanessa support is golden.
Vanessa's supports generally revolve around her venting her romantic frustrations regarding Innes at her partner.
With Lute, it's very different. Initially it's Lute nerding out over Pegasus trivia, but slowly evolves into Vanessa accepting with mild despair, that this is her life now, hanging out in the forever single club with the team weirdo, and this person who can't hold a normal conversation is now her best/only friend. And Lute continues being Lute, completely oblivious to the vastly complex self-reflective social analysis going on in front of her.
Yes, please do Lute! She's long been one of my favorites!
Considering how grounded they’re interactions are in awakenings main story chrom and Fredericks support is pretty god damn bizarre.
Chrom:”Hey Frederick how was your day?”
Frederick:”pretty good. I picked up every rock in the universe posted your nudes across the barracks and did the laundry. I think morales gonna start lookin up from here on.”
I legit thought Nadved was an internet made meme just to highlight the absurdity of Damved being a thing (or worse some creepypasta). Glad to wrong though cuz that was hilarious.

Henry seems PERFECT for this. His Ricken Support chain where casual discuss how the bosses the Shepherd have been fighting and killing throughout the game were actually his friends and good guys and Ricken is just having an existential crisis like "Are we the baddies?" is one of my faves in the entire series
Awakening's dark mages in general (which are only Tharja & Henry but still) are just so weird and so fun
Henry is my favorite overall
I really think the Heron's little support conversations with Oliver in Radiant Dawn deserve a mention in a part 2. There isn't much there but what is said is pure gold
Oliver has so many unusually unique support conversations with a truckload of characters in RD, its hilarious.

Trec is genuinely one of my favorite fire emblem characters ever. Reading his supports just slay me every time.
I''d say Guy and Matthew's interactions are some of my favorites. I love how Guy doesn't act like a "typical" Sacaen. He's super awkward and is prone to cheating/lying and tries to put up a tough front that gets challenged by almost everyone he supports with, especially Mat.

Not a support but I like the Path of Radiance base conversation where Brom has a bunch of rocks with him and explains Ike they remind him of his family and how he keeps fighting for them. Gets even better when we actually get to see Meg in Radiant Dawn.
Nina and Soleil’s support was so bad that it actually became one of the funniest Fates supports

Great video! As far as other supports that fit this topic, I think Lucius and Serra's is really good. Going from ridiculous silly Serra in their C and B and start of A supports into seeing a glimpse of the delicate girl behind the mask when she starts crying at Lucius' story is really sweet.

Going back to Awakening, I hate how much the fanbase claimed that these character are one dimensional. Sure there's characters like Stahl and such that are one note but character like Maribelle, Lon'qu, Olivia, Cordelia and more proves that the writers of Awakening took great care with the game writing (well at least supports writing)
I feel Awakening plays with Stahl being so "normal/average" that among other thing it's seen being remarkable. If he were to hear Treck's horse dream he'd muse on if horse feed would be more filling as a horse.
Cordeila's support with Henry is very interesting because Chrom is already married by the time he joins and her getting over it is a focal point of that support.
Favorite Cordeila support is still Gregor though. Heck, Gregor just has a lot of good supports in general.
Stahl's whole thing is him being... normal...

@@magicmanthegeez330 on the bright side, his quirk being average means he can easily be written to be relatable. also, personally, there is a certain appeal in "normal" characters. there is something when chosen ones or lifelong knights work to save the world, but to me, it has a lot more impact when an average joe fights the good fight. a sort of feeling of "this could be you"

A lot of these supports are with characters I haven't really used at all. Nice to be able to get a glimpse of their personalities and interactions.
I will say the worst part about fire emblem is that unless you're a completionist or go out of your way to google supports you'll miss out on a lot of characterization

I love Trek. On my first fe6 run my lance and Allen got super screwed and I decided to use Trek instead of lance. Then Trek got blessed in pretty much every stat. His support with Noah is also weirdly really good.
Holy moly this was amazing. I think Trec alone just convinced me to finally pick up Binding Blade.

Dorcas will always be my favourite character in binding blade, his support with Vaida is easily my favourite but I can never put a finger on why.

Nice video, and I was super happy to see Trec! He's a favorite of mine, but very overlooked. His support with Gonzalez kills me every time, and his other supports are great too.
It's a classic, but Wil and Rath support is still really funny.
The fact that Wil's random comment ("normal Archer number three") is the one thing that makes Rath laugh is so endearing.
You mentioned Geitz's support with Karel in this video, but the Geitz/Isadora Baby Bird saga is worthy of discussing all on its own. Good video though! Who would've thought Laurent was into such domination?

I honestly kinda love that one small support conversation can completely open up how you see a character in this franchise.
I'd love to see more of this idea honestly. There are plenty of characters I've never even began to explore, and a couple games I've never played.
Always interesting to see the things I missed. Not to mention re-experience the things I forgot or just really enjoy.
This is probably my favorite video yet, the goofy gimmick characters have always been my favorite in FE
Joshua and Innes' support is really funny: Innes legit knows that Joshua is cheating at the coinflip and is willing to lose enough money to make even Joshua worried about it, all because he can't figure out how he's doing it.
Another one that's pretty funny is Dozla and Lowen figuring out how to make a medieval car, plane, and television set during their supports together, with their ending talking about Ewan went down in history as the greatest inventor of Magvel's history.
Hol' up, in what game do Dozla and Lowen have a support? Because I am pretty sure Lowen is from fe7 and Dozla from fe8.
