+LovelyCheesePizza Because internet. Let's be serious here, one episode and it would be whined to death. Some would whine that they're playing on PC, others that it's on a console, if it would be on a console there would be whining about the console's generation or brand, then there are those who would whine about the titles used (regardless whether it's PC or consoles), and so on, and so on. And the saddest part is that a huge chunk of that wouldn't even be gamers commenting, it would be trolls tryin' to mess around with people like usual (though yeah, not all of it, we all know how many gamers are just that idiotic and whiny). So no matter how much faith one would have in gamers in general, one episode, and the station is flooded with whiny complaints...
I don't think that's the reason why the internet is an issue. I spoke with TV Commissioners in 2005 - okay, that's still a while ago - but basically, TV people just don't "Get" videogames, and their answer to any pitch of a show covering it is that it's too niche for TV, and is better served by online websites and online videos. TV execs are however, interested in dramas based on popular videogame franchises. That said, with eSports booming, things may change. BBC Three are now doing Gfinity Elite Series - accept it's just online for the time being. *sigh*. Still, these days it's not too hard to watch an online show on your TV. It's the main reason I still use my Wii U, ^_^.
No need to remind me of the good old days. I remember them quite often. I remember the Video Game kings of my neighborhood and drew a huge crowd right after school was over. Good ole 80's for me.
For me, I gathered crowds around Kung Fu Master, Star Wars, Super Mario Bros. and Galaga Machines. I was also great at a lot of others, but those were primarily my go-to's.
Wow, this video is beautiful. This was before my time, but I've loved games ever since I was a little kid. Seeing these passionate people do what I love, with an audience and an exciting competition just warms my heart. Gaming will always be special.
it's probably a typical "That's Incredible" audience. One of the great things about this show is that you never know what you were gonna see. They had everything imaginable, so long as it was amazing. Was one of my favorite shows, though I don't recall seeing this episode.
I watched this show as a kid. I remember the episode with Dragon's Lair. The laserdisc game thing was a big craze then and lasted until the early 90s I think. You kind of had a live action thing again with the Sega CD and PC had it going already. I miss shows like this just like I miss good shows on MTV until the mid 90s.
I was the gameroom manager at USC and was the person who worked with ABC to get a player for that show. Ted was also a world champion Rubik’s Cube player.
vivek patil why didn't anyone scream that she was sexually harassing the younger guys? They didn't give verbal consent to those kisses! Guess it's because in the eighties people didn't go insane over this type of action.
Wow, this brings back good times for me. And no matter how old or dated these games are, Burger Time is still legendary. @Luckyrob72 I still play Pacman, Ms. Pacman and Pac Land to this day.
I wish I can build a time machine, go there, and show them the my favorite the lost world arcade game, the time crisis 4, and ghost squad.. I wonder how they will react to such amazing graphic and gameplay of the future game
I really wish the show is revived since there's countless of incredible things occured since the last show was aired. I'm thinking if John Davidson would continue hosting in a revival version with two new hosts. It would make a comeback for the show and what the viewers can learn what extraordinary things people have accomplished. So looking forward if there's going to be a revival with That's Incredible! and what things I'm going to see there.
@theassassin329 They were. There's more to graphics than bloomy bump-mapped brown. Good use of color, well-drawn sprites, good animation are things that don't age.
@Djcheeto916 I don't know why it was labeled "Cosmos" that was Astro Blaster and it was made by Sega in 1981, the game has a 'warp' button, that slowed the alien ships and their shots down for about 15 seconds.
awesome.......... i am soooo happy i was the right age for the arcade boom. the nioises the girls the parties the games were so much fun , pinball air hockey

I remember watching this in 1983, I thought it was the coolest thing ever. I never thought I would be see it again let alone on a PC.
I was thinking just the same.
how old are you now?
probably in their early 20s
I knew I would see it again and on pc. Even a phone.
I envisioned it all.
I love how it's "World Championship" with two Americans and a Canadian!
Because they are the ones who one the other ones
The other worlds countries had already been eliminated. They stood no chance against North America
This was a totally legit contest, very well-planned and conducted. Amazing. They really knew what they were doing even before eSports became a thing.
How in God's name is this there not a show like this today?! That would be so awesome!

Because there are no longer any "Real People" anymore.
I think some people on Twitch need to try to reboot this show but obviously there are always game tourneys going on there now.
Sports Bar brought me here.
Actually, this aired February 21, 1983.
According to Time magazine and other sources.
But thanks tons for putting this online!
3 of the greatest athletes in the world duking it out.
The earliest known video game competition took place on October 19, 1972, at Stanford University for the game Spacewar
That's what I wanted to know lolthx
That’s way before the live tournaments (like Combo Breaker) an the game shows (like Starcade and Nick Arcade).
"Luring in hot dogs for a quick kill". Quote of my life.
Man that got intense near the end, That's Incredible!

I used to love this show "That's Incredible"
Me too. The regular episodes were better than this one.
Back in the day Millipede was wicked hard.
Back in the day? LOL. Us old gamers wished we could play well as we did back in the days. It's reverse for us. Wahh! LOL.
Damn this was incredible!! We need shows like this today :)
this video is all about the commentary. lol love it.
I liked the "evil mario" part - little did the world know how iconic Mario would end up becoming.
Boy do I remember this show. And I saw this piece when it aired.
The soundtrack during Millipede and Donkey Kong Jr is great
Video games, Reagan and cartoons, God I miss the 80's
wow! this brought vk MANY great memories! So lucky to have experienced the 80s.
Lol....I was about 8 years old when this came out,and I could have wiped the floor with all 3 of them on all 3 games....
gotta love videos like this one..specially when it has to do with gaming

TortureBot also cuz she's female
Trestres 23 tru dat, lol.
They probably ejacked all over their hulk underwear too.
Because she felt bad that they would most likely never get kissed again
That was AWESOME 👍
For those who don’t know who they are, the hosts (in order of appearance) are Cathy Lee Crosby, Fran Tarkenton and John Davidson.
I loved Missle Command. Nothing like the Arcade Video version.
I watched this episode over and over on vhs back in the 80s. Forgot about Ben's funny run 2:44
that's INCREDIBLE!!!
I forgot for closely the game Cosmos was to Astro Blaster. What a time to be alive. The best time in my opinion.

For some reason I never did see the movie The Wizard but went ape shit wanting to play Super Mario 3. My excitement was off the charts.
i remember listening to this on the radio, as television hadn't been invented yet
i bet if we went back in time for 30 years and brought our games today they will have a heart attck

This is AWESOME! Real entertainment. Speed running before it was a thing.
It's not speed running tho. It's high score chasing
Damn, those announcers are awesome, they make it sound so intense
I would watch this religiously if it was on today
I remember when this came on! I'm an old head!
Who else is watching this in 2020 there are so many changes
I can't wait for this game to come out. XD

That's Incredible actually did a Ms. Pac-Man championships the following year.
In Donkey Kong Jr, Mario is actually the evil one ;)
love the old school clap track.

In 1983 I was 14 now 55. These guys are all 60-years-old now, and majority of the audience is dead. 😢
Would have been cool to see it live on tv.
How did you find these?
Gotta remember, this was from the '80s so they didn't have the HD technology like we do nowadays,LOL! I miss these good ol' days of video gaming! :)

all these kids are almost 60 now crazy
