Your excitement is so wholesome and genuine it makes me excited as well watching the unboxing, and your playing is always phenomenal and inspiring. Love the videos Dave!
I’m just watching old mr Simpson guitar vids. And new guitar days are always the best days. Even watching someone else opening a new guitar and playing it for the first time gives me the same happiness 😃 I think I have a guitar problem 😂 😂
Rewatching this after my Oswald is complete and being shipped imminently. Can't wait for that opening case moment, definitely going to savour the moment. The Red Oswald is just glorious!
What is your Oswald like, as mine is in the process of being built, can't wait for the unboxing process. I am getting a Dark tobacco burst strat with a hardtail
@@rodrigopolicarpo8377 I absolutely love it. My two other main guitars are my Suhr and my core PRS, and it hangs with them very well. Fantastic guitar.
@@johnmonroney8614 Comparatively not at all. I got a complete custom built instrument effectively masterbuilt by one guy to all my specs for the price of a used Fender Custom Shop. In fact, I sold my old Custom Shop Strat for about 400$ more than the Oswald cost me.
I said in yesterday's video...each day gets a little better. Today is awesome! A new guitar always puts a smile on your face, and that one is incredible. I love hardtails too! Congrats Dave!👍😎🎸🎶
Just seeing the smile on your face Dave, puts a smile on my face. Love the fiesta red! I refinished 1 of my pbass' to coral pink, which is where fiesta red goes after it fades. Looks good enough to eat now.
Wow! What a gorgeous guitar! Sounds beasty as well! Awesome playing as always Dave! And Nick is such a legend! I’ve just got myself an all Warmoth custom Strat and I will have it finished like yours. Next stop might well be Nicks!
Dave: "sorry, bare with me, I have to take it in"---Is that the Mark Anthony speech...my fellow Romans...bare with me, my heart is in the gigbag there with the guitar and I must pause till it come back to me? Nicely done.
That thing is a work of art. I'd love to own an Oswald someday. Wow. Its tone is so close to your '62 I don't think I could possibly tell them apart without seeing which was which. Amazing.
Congrats! That is one beautiful guitar! Hats off to you Master Nick. What a beauty. My goal now is to save enough money to buy myself an Oswald strat. Who needs a custom shop Fender when you could buy yourself a much better crafted guitar for less money from Nick Oswald!
I re-watched this video the other day and found this: Maybe you bonded with this guitar so strong because it LOOKS like what you looked inside at this very time in your life: Beaten up, gone through stuff, "pieces missing" and all those feelings and mental states that come along with a break up. As if the guitar was a depiction of your state of "soul" at the end of 2019. Just a 2-cent-thought. Take care, Dave! :)
@@LfunkeyA why do you say that ? i personally dont use trems, i block them off like a lot of players do, so technically a pointless trem is the point for me :)
As I sit here with an ice pack on my left knee from arthroscopic surgery and drops in my left eye which is waiting for a third yes third cataract lens replacement I needed to hear you so happy Dave. But where as I will give credit to that beautiful guitar it is mostly the player that makes it sound so great. Thank for making my weekend. And I need no sympathy as this is just a bump in my road. Both surgeries are in good hands.
Good gravy I am I love with that guitar I was in music shop in Inverness 2day and seen some very pricey cool stuff but this custom Oswald is like out there on its own dave very cool sounds amazing
Christmas come early they say in situations like this. So pleased for you. I would love a hard tail Strat, I’ve had two Strats and have hard tailed the terms. Yeah Dave the sound is not only great, it’s suites your style of playing. Look forward to hearing you play to it’s potential.
Dave that's awesome. Sorry you've been sad. Very proud of how your coping. That Guitar is SOOO YOU!!! it sounds exactly like the black ( 63?) Sorry if I have the year wrong! Love you man!! Keep up the beautiful music. Use the pain to write your best songs ever!!
Just realised how beautiful this Fiesta red Strat is mate, sounds better than it looks, which is no mean feat, overall, sensational guitar, so hanging to get mine in the next couple of months
MY......GOD!!!!!!! what a STUNNING guitar!! put a 5 way SS and a whammy bar on it and it maybe my perfect guitar!!! that shade of FR is perfect!!!! my favorite color!!!
Nice unboxing Dave!I was wondering where it came from?now Dave is a happy Bunny again,Cheers sounds great, maybe I need a hard tail!have a great weekend.
Awesome. I was thinking maybe this was a newly published old video because I could have sworn I saw the guitar before. Damn are you lucky. I'd love a decent custom built guitar. The gig bag costs half of what my guitars cost new. After being on your channel a while it's obvious that Mr Oswald is an awesome bloke. You ought to go visit his workshop sometime and make a video :)
The Oswald has better clarity and more note definition when playing chords. Never messy, very well balanced through the whole range. Pickups and hardtail are probably the secret. To my ears it's a bit better then the 62. Cheers Dave. Enjoy your new Toy!
Nick is a great guy and a fantastic guitar builder. I have a dream guitar in mind and would like him to build it. It's basically a cross between a strat, tele and lp and it would be a super shredder! But the cost of both the parts and having it built is quite high for my low income. And although I love playing guitar I do suck at it. So I'm still contemplating if having my dream guitar is worth the money for me or if I should just stick to playing the ones I have now. Theoretically I don't need 10 average guitars if I can have 1 that does it all for me. So I haven't decided yet. But if I do have it built I'll send it to you for a review. I think you'd really like it and would enjoy playing it.
I tuned in as always for the killer guitar playing. I then looked up Nick Oswald and was amazed how reasonably priced these are. I was wondering if you bought these before we left the EU. If not were you hit with a hefty VAT and import duty bill? Thanks Dave.
Great to see you happy again, Dave. Congrats on a great guitar! Love the relic work. Did you go with a .1 tone cap? I think I could tell when you did the rolloffs, it didn't sound like a .022. Funny, I've been looking recently for a really good gig bag for my Frankenstrat, and I've settled upon the Reunion Blues Continental Voyager, same as this one. The number reviews of this bag on YT are paltry, so your reveal here is very welcome. I think this is a great choice.
Good to see Bonkers mad happy Dave starting to come back.. 'Not even tuned it yet" he says then blows me away with a stunning bit of rhythm!!(15;50 any chance of breakdown of that?) thanks for all you do mate.
I suppose the 2 dislikes are the white strat and the 62 strat...
Master Nick needs to sell a Dave Simpson signature strat based off the white reissue, almost 50k subscribers im sure he'd sell a few!
Perfect sense has been spoken by this man
Would second thing 😂
id buy one
Hands up. I'm buyin'
They're not cheap though 😏 Dave is very lucky and has roughly about £7,5K in Oswald guitars in his possession now.
So good to see you smiling again Dave, enjoy the Oswald as much as we all enjoy you☺👍🙋
Thank you very much. : )

I love the fact that it's a hard tail! Damn, sounds great and you didn't even tune it!!
That would put a smile on any guitarist face...
I love the relic, makes the guitar looks so gorgeous.
