    I couldn’t believe it how much difference this one little tip makes from the feeling it produces in a driver swing. It’s the best and easiest driver golf tip I’ve ever been taught. Let me know if it helps you too!

    This worked! The first several went way right. Experimented a bit with ball position and grip and it started to go straight or left, which is my normal driver flight path. This flop shot tip, along with the general idea of stopping the hands by pulling up with the left shoulder/side while down with the right, as suggested by other golf channels more and more
    lately, worked. Immediately felt like the ball was being hit squarely and flying offf the face. Added 15-20 yards and feel like there is more to come, since I just tried it a few days ago.

      @DK_Golfer  Před 16 dny +1

      Yes!!!! I think I should have made more of a deal on grip in the video…. If it’s weak then the drill has a limited effect. It’s such a fine margin, if you have a slightly weak grip and an open face of 2 degrees or more and a slightly in to out path then the ball will go right all day long. But this drill at least helps you feel where your hands are so you know when you are pulling on your hands and making things work. Thanks so much for the comment!

      Thanks for your reply.Can you do another ,going into a little more detail about the hand path when you do this. I played today and finally feel I can start improving with the driver. thanks again

      @DK_Golfer  Před 17 dny

      @NoelIrl24 I shall put that on my list of upcoming videos for sure… in recent lessons with my coach I’ve been working on my path being as neutral as possible or even slightly out to in (I was about 7 degrees in to out). It’s taken a while but it’s far better, but now it’s face control. I’m far too handsy!

    Interesting and confirms a lesson I had recently. I’ve only just begun to realise what the Pro wanted me to do was “release” sooner in the downswing, ie as you say, with driver let the club head get to the ball before your hands, unlike with irons. A good thought is imagine doing a release 2 or 3 using Dan Grieve’s short game method (he’s also worth watching by the way!)
    Very good vid, this hasn’t often been explained on other YT channels.
    Well done !

      @DK_Golfer  Před 3 dny

      Thankyou so much! Really appreciate your comments. I’ve been told the same thing but it was only in a recent lesson that it clicked and it was because my pro said: “it’s the same feeling as a flop shot or splash out of a bunker”. That was a light bulb moment for me. That’s why I had to share it. I’m really glad it’s seems to be helping so many. Anything that helps me, I’m just hoping might help others. I love Dan Grieve too! Watch a lot of his stuff. The release method you mention is exactly the same concept. Again, thanks for the comment, massively appreciate it!

    Great video! I use to be a handle dragger. Now I'm releasing way earlier than before. I wanted to sting it or should say compress it but always came out low and hit more blocks than I can count. This video reminds me of what I've worked on for the last year. It works wonders!

      Fantastic to hear! I wish I’d been shown this years ago, I 100% agree with you. I now feel like I get so much return on my effort as I find the middle so much more often. Don’t have to feel like I’m lashing at it now and it still goes a decent distance. Thanks for the comment! Most appreciated!

    Great tip, have used this method for ages.Great for improving distance but the timing has to be good otherwise the ball goes left side.Many CZcams pros teach it - Danny Maude an example.He swings to his left thigh and stops his left hand and forces his right hand through with his arms and follows through.

    • @DK_Golfer
      @DK_Golfer  Před 19 dny +2

      That’s great to hear! Yeah I’ve spotted a fair few videos on it, the penny didn’t drop until I was shown it in a lesson. I might actually go back and watch that Danny Maude video, love his stuff. You are bang on about the distance too as it really helps promote an upward strike and a more centred one. Amazing how much farther a golf ball goes when hit out the middle 😂😂😂 - thanks so much for leaving a comment, really appreciate it!

      It’s definitely helping me… as soon as I started using it after my last golf lesson it’s just completely changed my ball striking with driver. It won’t fix everyone but if you are not getting the driver head ahead of your hands then doing this is a game changer! Appreciate the comment!

    what shaft (weight and flex). I know it's a ventus red, but curious of specs.

      @DK_Golfer  Před 19 dny

      Hey there! Yes it’s amazing! It is the Ventus Red 6x. Half an inch shorter so plays at a square 45 inches. I think official weight is 66 grams. And extra stiff flex. Would absolutely recommend any ventus to anyone! So glad I found one second hand as they are expensive! What do you use?

      I realized for the very first time at about the 6 minute mark of your video. I can’t believe I never noticed it beforex in any other video. So maybe that’s so many hockey players are also very good golfers. Cheers.

      @DK_Golfer  Před 17 dny +1

      @rolandschlichting4513 yeah thinking about the drill mcilroy uses that I show holding the grip down the shaft on the right hand is also like a slap shot! In the UK often cricketers are pretty good at golf too as they have several shots when batting that give the same effect and feeling. Great spot, really useful that you pointed it out. Time to summon 14 year old me and a slap shot for my next practice session later today.

    Relating to your first comment, I've worked with hundreds of people, giving them their first try at golf and there has never been 1 who couldn't make contact with the ball, that's your first misunderstanding of how the body works, how the brain makes sense of the task, how it learns the rest of this rubbish has everything to do with that basic misconception.

    • @DK_Golfer
      @DK_Golfer  Před 18 dny +5

      You may be misinterpreting me on that one… all I mean is that I’m acknowledging that it is a single tip that has worked for me. And was something I had been doing wrong. A beginner or even any other other golfer will possibly have far more important things to work on than what I’m suggesting here. For instance I would not be getting my kids to do this at this point. That’s all. Appreciate the comment though.

      Thanks for the comment… all tips and drills I take directly from my PGA pro. I am not a pro, and don’t claim to be. I am however a half decent golfer. As I say on my channel page, just trying to pass on what I’m being taught. Save some people some money along the way. Have a great day dude.

      It is the swing FEELING not exactly what happens at contact with the driver! Practice that feeling and see if this doesn't improve your driver's contact with the ball.

    • @DK_Golfer
      @DK_Golfer  Před 18 dny +1

      Really good point, obviously we don’t want to actually hit a flop shot with driver… that would be interesting to say the least! But it very much is the feeling of that that allows the head to overtake hands. Cheers for the comment!
