    These personal pod simulators have been around for decades. Literally , In the 90's in NY i use to attend the annual Tech convention at the Javits center. It was the East coast equivalent to NAB. Showcasing everything in tech computers animation software and hardware. And of course things fringe tech. So every year came such simulators from Japan and South Korea. And several of the designs remained true since, including this one. The immersion is indeed impressive. Far better than any moving chair. only problem most would take up the fullness of ones garage. or at least a room in ones house. still. its great to see some of those companies still at it.

    That looks amazing, having flown IRL yourself, would be interesting to hear your opinion on how close your experiences at Virtual Fly is to the real thing. I've been in RAF Waddington's sim, but that must have been nearly 25 years ago now, I remember it being pretty cool when I was 12 to 14 I think.
    Also a bit editing advice, as you come to park up, there's a short cross fade, would've been better with a straight cut, as you're just changing angles and not showing any passing of time or change of location.

      Azivegu the maker should strip the screens of the black lines , and leave only a small margin, it's just insane the amount of work and them you have 3 lousy screens, at least put 3 curve ones for max immersion, and also the fact that it was no windows just kills me , FYY also need a plane chair not a racer one .

      personally I like my setup of 1x 38" ultra-wide and 2x 27" 16:9. They all have the same vertical height but doesn't feel super overwhelming (I have tried 3x ultra-wide, it felt a bit claustrophobic). But the amount of screen real estate is just so much xD (And I havent mentioned my 18" old school square dell monitor that I have on top that has diagnostics constantly running)

    VR is already much better and much cheaper, and improving rapidly. Xplane 11.2 is amazing and puts you into the cockpit and you have 360 degree view, horizantal and vertical.. you can look down and see your shadow on the ground, see the traffic on the airport, have a tug give you a pushback, fly approaches in a 737, 747, helicopter, and do many more amazing things. VR give you the sensation of motion, and the roller coasters will demonstrate that as will jumping off a mountain with a wingsuit.

    It's interesting for sure. Only drawback is that real airplanes have a 90 degree view on both sides. When you fly traffic pattern, you generally start setting yourself up for an approach on downwing leg and adjacent to the end of the runway. It would be better if there were monitors at 90 degrees and entry was made from the rear maybe. ??

      Because it is a training aircraft and basic to fly. You have to remember that these are for people learning to fly.

      I would have preferred a Boeing 737-800.
      Since it is unlikely that I would fly either a Cessna or the Boeing, I select the one I have spent most time in.
      My GF once gave me a flying lesson in a Piper which I both started and landed myself. Contrary to what pilots tell, MS-FS DO give you something...and certain things was actually easier IRL- unlike the flightsim, you can feel the 'pillow' of air under the plane when you flare out - pretending not necessary.
      It was a perfect experience - but I can live without repeating it.
      So RL flying is reduced to traveling - consequently primarily as a passenger in a Boeing 737-800 - and A320 once and a while .

    What would be the retail price for one of these?
    And I wonder where the movement information come from, are they already part of P3D? So would it be possible to use it with another sim like x-plane?

    Am sure that the 2.0 model will come with interchangeable panel. But, for being a Training/Fun FTD I think it will do. Any device where you can inject motion I think is a major step forward too. Also, think how much it will save a pilot in IFR Training too. Now, the price, it probably will be kept out of the hands of most. I'll have to save my pennies for this one. But, great step forward to the team.

  • @N34RT

    This is a common misconception with low-end, motion simulators (and believe me, as a professional aviator with over 30 years and 12,000 hours in everything from Gliders and Helicopters to Jets - I've flown in just about every simulator platform there is.) In an aircraft in a coordinated turn, there is no sensation of "rolling". Instead, the lateral "rolling" of a simulator is used (should be used) to replicate the feel of "yaw" in an actual aircraft. Likewise, in real, full-motion, LEVEL C & D simulators, the "pitching" motion of the simulator is used to replicate the feel of acceleration and deceleration. Watch a video of such a simulator in operation during an actual training flight and you'll observe what I'm trying to explain.

    • @piglex1
      @piglex1 Před 4 lety

      High -end simulators cannot accurately simulate G. That is why they are not cleared to 'assess' pilot performance in unusual attitude simulations.

      A G1000 equipped Cessna 172 Skyhawk will currently run you about $250,000. The OVO-4 is between $50,000 and $75,000. It's way cheaper.

      @@shadowtheimpure Almost nobody who flies 172s has one new enough to have Garmin G1000s, let alone the money to afford one. There are plenty of good reliable planes that you can get for well under 50k

    • @notrealy180217
      @notrealy180217 Před 3 lety

      @Neso It's a lot more affordable than most people think. The license is 5-7k which is expensive. Fuel is only 4-7$ a gallon, and to rent a 172 prechecked, with fuel, is about 125-130$. To play MSFS2020, you have to have a PC that is at least worth 1500$, and that's not including a monitor and peripherals, so both of these things are expensive and costs as much as cars. After playing the game, I realized that my 8th gen i5 and 1070ti with 16gb of ram actually isn't really enough, and once they release VR, I will absolutely need a new rig to run my Rift S with MSFS2020.
      I am not a licensed private pilot. I want to become one soon though. I feel like I could afford it, because it does take a bit of time to rack up the hours of flying, and that in itsself seems to be a great time. It would actually be cheaper, to begin the training and pay it off by lesson, and fly with an instructor for a few months, than buy a whole gaming rig, but obviously it's an entirely different experience. Flying in real life in a 172 would probably be pretty scary at first.

    • @petadagamerl9075
      @petadagamerl9075 Před 3 lety

      New Russia yeah but if your spending that type of money it means that you have enough to pay for that. Also there comes a whole better experience flying from one country to the other and visiting spots in real life rather then sit and fly for 2 hours and go no where. I’m not saying flight sims are not fun, I have several hundred hours on x plane and mfs2020 with 40-50 FPS max settings. Also with your pilot liscense you could start working and get paid too soo yeahhh

    Can you use Addon aircraft like A2A C172/182 and the like? Or is it just the not very good default? Is there a fixed price, or is there options? I don't want to call the people just to get a price. I'd rather have one around here so I can go fly in it.
