Kirby Lonsdale it’s a beautiful town based in the beautiful South Lake District Cumbria England. I’m proud to mention I attended boarding school Witherslack Hall not too far from Kirby Lonsdale. Witherslack is based in nearby Grange Oversands and as well as Witherslack Hall School and near by now called Oversands school. Witherslack used to be affiliated to another school based in Kirby Lonsdale. The school, Cedar house was once owned by the same chap who owned Witherslack Hall and another school called Lowgate many years ago. The was and still might be another school very similar to Witherslack named Underlay Hall which I believe is in or near Kirby Lonsdale. I paid a recent visit to this beautiful town and visited Devil’s Bridge and the nearby church. Not only that, another ex boy from Witherslack Hall was with myself visiting as he also attended what was Cedar house and he eventually came to Witherslack Hall school. from Witherslack, other X boys and myself used to pay visits to Kirby Lonsdale including Devil’s Bridge and we had a great time back in the day. I honestly wish Witherslack Hall had turned into a college many years ago as all the lads and myself would certainly love to have gone back especially had the school taken over the adjacent farm Which is now a horse riding centre and Bed & Breakfast where to I have stayed at and enjoyed. Had the school become a college and they had taken over the farm, I would have gladly trained to have stayed there and seek permanent employment years ago. This other chap Who was with myself in Kirby Lonsdale would love to have gone back to Witherslack as the school chef many years ago and I’m sure he’d still be there to this day as I would be under the right circumstances. I still pay frequent visits up that way and I stay at the local derby Arms based in Witherslack village and indeed it’s always brings back poignant memories. This other ex-lads and myself headed to Witherslack Hall recently and we took loads of pictures of the grounds as well as how we headed round the back of the school where there is a big lake which two we wandered round and again, extremely enjoyable and very poignant as when I was attending Witherslack Hall, it was a bit sad as I wondered if I would ever see the place again but it goes to show, we cannot usually say never.
