    I have started putting starling on everything lately - especially my BWO wets. We get those buggers (the green curse) all year round here in NC and VA. Came home from a local tailwater today and realized it was time to bulk up the BWO box with the passing of the Summer Sulphers. I think I'll start with 6 of these.

    I would tie it reverse to your method…wind the pheasant fibre body away from you in the normal position so when the thread secures it the tension is in the same direction, resulting in little risk the body unwinds a bit and is less tight or slips and unwinds forcing you to start over! Then rib the body in the counter wise direction! The effect is the same! The trout won’t care! Been tying for 54 years!

    Uses a size 16 starling feather. must be a 16 hook.

      Nick wray soft hackles typically don’t have any type of tail
