I have been painting for over 15 years and the patience it takes to get good with a brush is really a skill. Some people can't cut for S***. Always keep a wet rag and five in one on hand. I have no time to babysit on the jobsite. Those cuts look good. I can tell you were trained by an old school painter.
Cut in so much in my life I laughed! Great advice for anyone looking to up their game. I go right to left and with my wingspan I can cut a ceiling in lightning fast, that's why I laughed. If I held my breath I would slow down so much. Awsome job!
I saw a trick to use a post card or card of some sort and place it on the vertical part of the roller and having the card on the ceiling, to prevent the paint from transferring and you can roll away! It applies to baseboards too, I’m about to use this technique here shortly on my walls, hopefully it works well
Nice cuts. I been painting 25ish years and the only thing I do is load my brush a little lighter and use slightly more pressure making sure the tapered part of the bristle is in contact with the wall. I carry quite a bit of speed with both hands. Other painters watch me and say wtf you were just using your right hand. I will say that color is unforgiving with straight lines
What's going on brother I'm a big fan of yours.. I recently just started round small painting business then painting for years we have our first property Management turnover building to do 180 units all rollouts.. you have any tips on how I should grow the business
Best and stress free method is to use the painter tape on ceilings and anywhere as needed and the results will be perfect…I painted all my home rooms using painter tapes… 😀
Cutting against knockdown with an obviously good notch? That’s about as easy as it gets. The faster you go the flatter your line will be. Cutting that slow leaves a lot of room for wiggle. Do you pull bandaids off nice and slow too?
Dude holding your breath to cut in that all room like that I think would not be good for your health for 12 years that's all I did was cut it my partner rolled I cut everything in I don't even like the roll anymore give me a brush and I'm a happy camper
Doesn’t matter left to right or right to left or holding breath. Most important thing is how your lower body and the ladder is positioned. Oh, you have to know how to move your head like a pigeon how’s looking to start something. 😅
Cutting in is way slower. Boomers always have this weird ego thing instead of focusing on profit. You waste so much time cutting in vs super cheaper painters tape and an applicator. 45 seconds to slap tape down the entire ceiling in a room or 5 minutes cutting in a line that isnt even straight. There is stuff you end up cutting in sometimes but awhole ceiling is just dumb
@stormtraders yes you can, why do you think you can't? We do it all the time and never get paint pulling off the wall. Color has nothing to do with anything. Use the correct tape for the application
@@stormtradersalso the only scenario where what your saying makes sense is if you are doing small jobs like residential construction, houses. In bigger jobs we use sprayers so your scenario isnt even realistic for actual painters, not residential warriors.
@@JohnDoe-vg1mk wtf ur even saying, now you just making assumptions and backtracking other stuff. Just shut up because you clearly just talk shit. Only time I'm holding my breath when I'm working is when I walk into the PortaJohn
Lmao
😂
You just made me hold my breath sitting on my couch.
😂😂😂😂😂same
Me too 😂
Instructions unclear, passed out and fell off the ladder

I actually find that a slow, consistent exhale works much better
Lmao I can't stop 🤣
I figured this technique out just by cutting in for many years. It really does work.
you bet
I passed out Watching this
Just like a trigger squeeze, although two entirely different outcomes! Shot grouping and cut ins same principle! Great tip brother keep ‘em coming.
Yep
I've been doing this for years and not even realizing it lol
I love cutting in. It's what im super good at and yes, i will hold my breath sometimes.
Have a Happy New Year
Great work cutting in.
The faster you go the sharper and straighter you get the line.
Not being critical, but is it just me, the video angle, or is your left srm double the size of your right?
When do u cut in a wall versus putting tape on the ceiling? What order do u paint the room? Ceiling, then trim, then wall?
I have a video explaining this
@@Idahopainter can you link it please?
Tried and true technique!
I like breathing out as I run my line

Thanks for sharing
It's also faster than the fastest guy at cutting in. It's just a lame ego thing for boomers
Yeah and pull off the paint with the tape so you have to repair.. cutting in is for pro’s buddy
@stormtraders only if you have a mental deficiency and use the wrong tape, taping is also significantly faster on long straight runs of wall
@@JohnDoe-vg1mk even with the least sticking tape you get peeling. You know that yourself. Dont be a smartass

It’s obviously a demonstration, plus it’s a dark color, nobody is cutting real fast with a dark color like that
Thanks
I use to think holding my breath was the key too. But try a few runs on the exhale. Improved my cut 💯.
Brain needs oxygen.

I feel ya there, three inch angle and no roller can keep up with me :)
Just use Tape like they do in Germany
Bit like sniping then

No disrespect but thats not the best, every painter I know runs the paint along 1st and then cuts in

The way he speaks with the exaggerated breathing is madly annoying😩

You can see you have no cutting skill
Until your on top of a ladder light headed from holding your breath. That's ridiculous
ok
Bro is a large and wears a small
Just use a 5/1 and score a line between ceiling and wall. Boom perfect cut
