I went with my father to see the first 1979 Alien when I was just 10 yrs old. I can't believe I still have yet to see Prometheus.
You don't need to watch it, I still disregard Prometheus and Covenant as canon to the main lore, like the AvP films, they're disasters.

When Shaw opened the door and that squid billy monster came and attacked I was SHOOK and when you think about it it's actually kinds cool that her alien baby saved her from the engineer even tho it wasn't on purpose lol

it is a med bay, there probably some nourish pills inside, we never know if it messed around with thing inside there.
...or how the process works. you can say it is dead after making contact with the engineer. so i think it has a very rapid growth but only a short life span. it needs to look for a new host to plant some kind of parasite/sperm or a part of itself in it that will emerge / morph into something new. i also like to see it as some kind of caterpillar making a metamorphose into a butterfly but in this case its not transforming itself. it rather plants its seeds within another body. you could say it needs a new host to keep itself or its "future childs" on living. hmm maybe referable to the Ampulex compressa. i dont know if there is more about the trilobite because it could be possible that its either dying after planting an egg-parasite thing inside of someone or it is planting a part of itself - what is some kind of the core organism of itself, protected by the rest of its body - within someone else; maybe like a mix of the ampulex compressa and a planarian (check wikipedia. there is a part called regeneration) but with some strong mutation / metamorphosis.

It happens in every Alien movie. Whatever it is, it's canon.
The same thing happens in the Alien 1979 movie. The entire series shows Aliens growing mostly without food. However we do see in Alien 3 and Covenant that they do feed at times.
In the og alien it only grows rapidly AFTER it has used the facehugger process to create a biologically unique instance of itself based on humans. This is just the thing created from the semen of the guy who’s drink David spiked… it makes zero sense for it to even be this much like a face hugger if it’s gonna be this huge… other than the writers being weirdos who just really wanted to make a super high budget tentacle rape scene, and realized only late in the film making process that maybe it wouldn’t sit well with their audiences to show a woman getting deep-throated all close up and with highly detailed slime effects…
God I hate this movie. What a waste of money for what could’ve been such an interesting premise. I wanted to see the original elephant-sized space jockey and whatever alien came out of it, not some handsome squidward wannabe getting tongue-fucked by a manga artist’s wet dream.
I think that Shaw's healed reproductive system is what David finds interesting and that is why he used it for creating the Xeno/Protomorph eggs🤔

It was a giant face hugger. Shaw was acted just like an egg pod. Titians so that was a face hugger designed to attach to a titians face. The parasitic pathogen affects all animal life leaving only plant life untouched. The pathogen was designed to destroy a worlds ecco system run its course then die out by the queen slowly consuming the hive drones till only the queen was left who then feed off herself the oroborus till new hosts became available in order restart the hive. The engineers have a biological kill switch that acts just like the parasitic pathogen that seeks out and attacks and snuffs out the pathogen. Its what was shown in the Prometheus movie were the engineer drinks a cup of active cultures and dissolves with in a water system to start the eradication process of the parasitic pathogen.

Trilobite is charlie's sperm mutated by black goo. right after the shaw's surgical operation we could see its first shape looks like oversized giant sperm. Shaw was sterile so his sperm was unable to fecundated with shaw's ovum and effected by black goo it has changed and grown into trilobite.

All the alien critters seem to be able to mature into full size adults quickly. What are the nutrients for this rapid growth? Is it ever explained? What do "they" eat or ingest? Are they cannibals?
My question is that why is it that this Trilobite is so massive yet the Deacon is such a small Alien? Also do you think that that is its final growth stage or will it become bigger. I mean we get these massive Xenomorps off of normal people and even the facehugger that attached itself to the dog in Alien 3 was much bigger than the Deacon. It just doesn't make sense, or is there an actual reason to it?

On a different subject: Something doesn't add up about the Juggernaut ship. People are claiming that the derelict ship found by the Nostromo's crew is the ship crashed by David after committing Geneside on the Engineer settlement. How can that be. There was a supply of Alien face hugger eggs below and an over 100-year-old Engineer Space Jockey that had died from a chest bursting episode still in a chair as proof. Can you explain? First of all, by Holloway drinking the drop of black goo, only his stomach cells and intestines would have made contact with the mutagenic compound. How did the infection get to his balls and infect his sperm? Okay perhaps it entered his bloodstream and got to his nads. And if it did, shouldn't it have interfered with the sperm's reproductive functionality? Next is Shaw, she's barren, so was she "fertilized" by Holloways sperm, or was she just infected inside her reproductive organ and her ovary or egg was in turn mutated? Even then, how did a combination of Holloway DNA, Shaw DNA, and pathogen recombine into an embryo and redesign it to function specifically as a mechanism for depositing another egg that would spawn the Deacon alien? The Trilobite's rapid growth without nutrients (unless ALL ALIENS "eat" by absorbing gases from the air) is just ridiculous. The nature of the pathogen is to utilize the DNA it comes into contact with and exploit it. So how did the trilobite grow larger than a human being if its base source are human DNA? It seemed like it was designed strictly to subdue the Engineer. Is trilobite DNA hidden inside human DNA from our eons of evolution and is only released by the pathogen? It makes more sense for an infected Shaw to mutate into another creature, than have her birth something completely separate. It's just bad writing by Ridley Scott to be honest.

tubeytubby It seems that the black mutagen has a sort of blueprint where the resulting hybrid from the host will always develop along the lines of a facehugger/xenomorph, with variation depending upon what host was chosen. If the mutagen mutates anything it touches (and seems ridiculously potent) then id guess it doesnt matter where it entered that guys body and as we saw, it probably fucked up every system in his body in a short time.

Mostly confusion, that this movie was a complete mess that didn’t know where it was going or what story it wanted to tell or how to tell it!

I think that Trilobite is first one of his kind because it never happend before (propably) but that Deacon is first sign of Xenomorphs so I presume Xenemorphs could exist thousands years like we saw in in AVP 1.
I thought that she was a lot prettier than My ex. I kind of wanted to make out with it, but I'd really rather not have a Deacon cut its way out of My guts. On the other hand, if I could safely pass a Deacon through defecation or vomiting, it could be fun to see what sort of chaos ensues as it grows to adulthood. Sadly, this remains the stuff of fiction, and My fantasy remains unfulfilled.

The best thing about Prometheus was the notion that the origins of life aren't necessarilly a beautiful thing, the way religion and other ideologies would have us believe. It can actually be something incredibly nasty by human standards. That's why Cameron's own musings on the DVD extras are so disappointing. He talks about God and creation like some some kind of born again Christian. Thank goodness none of that came through in the final film.
