You don't understand, this is literally *exactly* what I do. Like, I can't watch scary movies AT ALL (I have managed to get all the way through exactly three horror movies in my 19 years of life and none of them were enjoyable) but I always want to know what happens, so I just go on wikipedia and read the entire plot synopsis. I do this for whole franchises. Once spent around an hour (in the middle of the night, for some reason) reading the entire plot synopsis for every single movie in the Conjuring universe.
I'll be honest I don't watch horror movies because I don't find them sacary at all. I found the conjering to be just another ghost/deamon movie with nothing really special about it.
absolutely me too! i like the psychological tension of spooky shit but actually seeing it will give me nightmares for weeks. i am perfectly content to just read the plot on wikipedia and let my imagination do the PG-rated rest.
I recommend looking for video's on youtube that explain the plot. The fact that you can pause, skip 5 seconds or watch with the player on just a part of the screen instead of fullscreen gives you enough empowerment that it takes most of the scariness out of it while still being able to see some of the scary stuff.
This is too real, my favorite are Final Destination Wikipedia pages because they usually read like "Everyone agrees to meet at a diner and discuss Brad's death. As Jennifer approaches the diner a rogue semi truck decimates a nearby grain silo, washing her away in a flood of grain. Jennifer is then devoured by birds."
Final Destination is a great movie to watch for Halloween tho because however violent it might be it's never scary and you can't possibly suspect any part of that is going to happen in real life
My husband loves horror movies I'm too much of a scardy cat to watch them. So I watch your kill count and read stuff on Wikipedia and call myself a connoisseur 😅.
Listen what I'm saying is representation is really important and being able to see yourself represented on screen like this can be really profound. Thankyou, Thomas Cardy.
This is truly hilarious and so real for me! I do NOT do scary movies. After watching your Red Flags video, however, I was curious if my disgusting assumptions about Human Centipede were true (I had never even heard of it prior to Red Flags). I summoned the courage to read the plot on Wikipedia and was quite disturbed to realize that I had, indeed, understood correctly what that film was about.
thats legitimately how i became a horror fan. the concept of horror movies TERRIFIED me as a child to the point i wouldnt even walk down the aisle in the video store but when i was like 15 or so i was like "mmm maybe i'll just look up the plot on wikipedia" which led to me tentatively watching one and the rest is history
@TheBloodyViki you know what? I genuinely cannot remember. What's funny though is I CAN remember how I watched it, on my old shitty laptop with the window really small.
Just came here to say, you are the reason some eighth graders walked into my classroom the other day singing about the human centipede. Biggest jumpscare of the year so far😅
I can't even begin to explain how relatable this is. I can feel Tom's voice running through my veins. Help, I think a mustache is growing rapidly on my face, HELP-
This is weirdly well timed. Just a couple days ago, in order to understand the Red Flags song better, I read the plot of Human Centipede on Wikipedia exactly as you described.
I do this exact thing because I can't handle jump scares for the life of me, but I absolutely LOVE psychological horror and the "events" of horror movies, so reading about the movies' plots are way more enjoyable than watching the movie. If there were any horror movies that were just made to be creepy and have a really good plot _without any jump scares,_ that would be a perfect movie for me. Jump scares have always felt really cheap to me, and some people may find that enjoyable but definitely not me.
@@witchfynder_finder I would really love to know which ones then because people have told me before and yet there have still been jumpscares to which they said "oh i forgot about that" 😵

With being a hyper-visual person (is that a thing?) when I see something played out in front of me I can clearly replay that thing in my mind over and over again. The flow of the lines “… Blu-ray DVD” & “You can keep your wide screen media, I get my right via online encyclopedia” is beautiful✋😌👌❤️
That’s why I like to read horror novels over watching movies! Spooky stories without the visuals, just how I like it
DUDE I just heard your song in Helluva Boss! I was so excited!!!
I LOVE U, I JUST SAW HELLUVAS BOSS NEW EPISODE AND I HEARD YOUR VOICE AND RECOGNIZED IT IMMEDIATELY YOU'RE ON FIRE OMG
You joke but reading entries on the SCP Foundation wiki is one of my favorite spooky pasttimes!
Congrats for working with Hellva Boss! I am happy to see you work for high end teams! Keep up with your fantastic music and skits!
This wonderful song has given me an unexpected catharsis, learning that this is not something only I do because I'm weird, but apparently very common
You are a musical genius! You're on all my playlists now!
Bruh this is literally how I read the plot of killing stalking on fandom with a bag of chips because I was too scared to read the actual thing.
Unbelievably relatable, so many people in my life love scary movies, and tell me”it’s not that scary” I like the story, so I read it, it’s interesting.
I do this all the ding dang time. I hate watching scary things/playing horror games, but I love learning the plots of them. At best I can watch someone give a review or synopsis for movies or a letsplay for gaming. For whatever reason having that buffer dulls the fear to an enjoyable level
I recognized your voice/music in the latest Helluva Boss episode! Great job with it
