EP3 | 6 Seater Camper! | Installing rear seats to our van conversion | Vanlife | VanFam Self Build

We show you how to fit rear seats in to a camper van conversion. This is something we've had previous experience of with 2 of our previous vans. This part is exciting for us as we can now use the van to carry 6. We've had the installation checked by professionals, which is always advisable when dealing with safety systems!
The 6th seat is removable and will pretty much not live in the van but it gives us some options for friends and family in the future for group trips or even just allows our kids to bring a few friends along for a day out.
The installation process was a fairly simple one. Our new seats all sit directly on top of a huge chassis rail which is situated under the van, so fixing through this was pretty straight forward. Additionally we added steel plates all across the van to strengthen the floor and then mounted the seat brackets on to the whole lot using a combination of M12 and M10 bolts, nuts, washers and locking nuts.
Once complete we sprayed all the metal with galvanising spray to protect it all from ingress and the ferrous metal from rust.
