    Just brought my 2020 Wrangler with the EcoDiesel home. My first diesel. Glad i found you here in CZcams and thanks for the tips!

    Thank you very much for this, it makes me feel much better about dealing with my new diesel engine. The hose and bottle idea is great, will keep them in my vehicle in case I need to use them on the fly.

      Another option is to use the DEF container and hose for draining the water separator, for my RAM it reaches perfectly and goes around drain plug so there is no mess. I have not tried on my wrangler yet but it looks like the same drain plug.

    Another thing that I spoke with my dealerships service Dept about is using Diesel Kleen on the wrangler. I just bought a rubicon diesel and they said they got a TSB about asphaltenes starting to build up in the RAM diesel tanks. They can be mistaken for bio buildup but have been tested and are asphaltenes due to the super high pressure of diesel fuel systems. They said to run Diesel Kleen through every other tank.

    Ok, diesels are expensive and a lot more maintenance and have to worry about fuel quality. You have convinced me to stay with gas in my 3 Jeeps. Especially when the 392 comes out. Thanks

      @@dieseJL I do love my Jeeps and appreciate the good and honest review. It was a good education, but I am satisfied with the simplicity of gas and do like the diesel sound. Just don't need the torq, but wish I could afford the 392 in the Gladiator High Altitude that I have now. Have fun and stay safe on all your adventures.

    Also algae can grow in a diesel fuel tank. Luckily there are algaecides that you can use. Small amount of it does the job.

    • @dieseJL
      @dieseJL  Před 3 lety

      Isn’t that only if there’s water in there the algae grows in the water? Or can it actually grow in the fuel itself?

  • @aMAYSingLife

    You are saying change fuel filter every 50k but my supplemental diesel manual states every other oil change so that would be every 20k.

    • @dieseJL
      @dieseJL  Před 2 lety +1

      Yeah I would go with the every other oil change

  • @l8tapex
    @l8tapex Před rokem

    stations that are minimum 25 years old don't pick fuel from bottom of tanks. All stations have water filter on every nozzle. Many now have a12 sensor probe system for the tanks with recall history for DEQ enforcement. If the store is busy it turning fuel all the time is never sits. Your vehicle has a water separator and a warning system... Fords are notorious for not working....

    I have a jeep gladiator overland Eco diesel and I can full it and one day later my fuel is down to almost halfway only in one day from taking my daughter, son to school and picking them from school, how to know if is normal or if need to fix it ? I really don’t know about mileage and how all that works

    • @bloomfieldgriller2957

      It is simple: around every 4,000 miles you are prompted to add DEF and you add 2.5 gallons of DEF, purchased at Walmart. Open the blue cap and refill. Ready for another 4,000 miles. I hope you enjoy your EcoDiesel as much as I do!

    Don’t forget the most important thing about water in your fuel. Water does not compress. Compression being the root of a Diesel engine, you do not want to get and compress a cylinder full of water.

    • @dieseJL

      No but I don’t like water fording with any vehicle... I wouldn’t be worried about any water in the fuel system though

    • @NunYa953
      @NunYa953 Před 2 lety

      You're referring to the diesel particulate filter. You just need to be sure to get the thing out on the highway at highway speeds for a bit. That will help to burn that stuff off before it clogs up the filter.

  • @kpinsonat
    @kpinsonat Před 3 lety

    Good stuff to know. My diesel rubicon is my first diesel and my favorite is when someone overflows their tank at the pump and then you’re next to grab the handle. Dude....what in the hell can you carry with you to get that sh%t off your hand ? That stuff is brutal 🤢

    You've officially scared me off of buying the Wrangler with a diesel. I was going to get it but at this point, I feel like there's a waterpark in my fuel system.

    • @dieseJL
      @dieseJL  Před 2 lety +2

      That wasn’t our intention!! Few things - change the fuel filter every other oil change, if you see the light on the dash you can drain the water now that you know how, and lastly just understand that on diesels your can’t ignore the fuel system for 200k like you can a gas.
      We’re driving a gasser this week, trust me, the diesel is worth it.

    Have you ever stored diesel in rotopax for a trip? What concerns are there, if any, for humidity in the air getting into the fuel while in the rotopax?

    • @dieseJL
      @dieseJL  Před 3 lety +2

      We have rotopax but have not used them. I wouldn’t have any worries, the issues you would usually see are steel tanks and large, not the small plastic ones you speak of. With fuel containers like that it’s usually what you put in, not condensation.

    Life’s too short to drive boring vehicles! Audi’s are nice but don’t give you the joy a jeep brings. Show your family a $130,000 Maserati Leviante and a $32,000 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk/Limited and their the exact same thing same interior, buttons, screens, and ride which is funny but many of the Maserati features and interior quality is in the jeep. Audi is just a slightly better VW with huge profit margins for the company because 240,000 Audi’s are sold a year and 2,200,000 jeep and dodges are sold a year that’s why they can afford to put much more quality things in the vehicles for a lower price
    JOIN A JEEP CLUB!!!! They hang out, go off-roading together, overlanding, camping, hiking trips and everything!
    The wrangler is truly the most fun vehicle out there that’s why you see rich people with Lamborghinis, Ferraris, and jeep wranglers but if they want a luxury vehicle Cherokees and grand Cherokees are directly built on six-figure luxury platforms
    That’s my comment on ur last video hope u share the info and jeep love
