I'd like to hear your thoughts on which deity you'd like me to discuss in a separate video. Please let me know in the comments below. Just to let you know, we already have separate videos on our channel for Anubis, Horus, Bastet, Thoth, Hathor, and Ptah. Your suggestions are highly appreciated! Thank you!
Honestly....any and all. Perhaps some of the lesser known deities, that hardly anyone has heard of, that may have had a greater effect upon events than would be expected from their lesser deity status.... that would be interesting. Its such a ridiculously rich body of mythology, that could keep a content creator busy for an entire lifetime.
Khum
do you think there is even a 0.000001% chance that one day when islam and christianity collapse, that people in huge numbers could come back to ancient religions and again begin to workship ancient egyptian gods, and maybe even ancient greek gods? or do you think this will never happens?
i have one more stupid request, im calling it stupid because i have been made fun off and put down by everyone my entire life, im 42 now, could consider SELLING some T SHIRTS with some ancient egyptian gods on them? just think about it? i think many fans of this genre would buy them, even if there were like US$30 each just dont make them too expensive.
This is there the Jews showed their intelligence, they invented the worship of one "true" god as a sort of consolidation, who wants to waste precious time worshipping 100+ gods when it's so much easier to just worship one God, this was the genius of the Jews, later Christians and Muslims copied this idea
You forgot Seshat (goddess of writing, wisdom and astronomy) daughter of Thoth. Still this is the best video on the Egyptian gods on YT. Instead of only talking about the ones that most already know: Ra, Horus, Osiris, Isis, Seth; and repeating their famous myth; you instead gave a great A to Z list of so many diverse gods and goddesses with a short but comprehensive description of who they are. I don't think any other video on YT mentions so many. Great job! Thank you for the good content!
thank you for watching and glad that you loved it!
I came to the comments to say this! Seshat (or Seshet) is also sometimes described as Thoth’s consort. She invented writing and Thoth (or Tahuti) gave writing to mankind. Good video.
I am Muslim, but i love to study knowledge from the History of other faiths, it helps me understand olden days better
There is no god but Osiris, and Thoth is his messenger.
Zeus is the only god! (Joking, there’s no evidence for any god).
Actually they’re mentioned in the Bible. They were cast into the abyss.
Remember said you shall not worship no other god before me.
Knowledge was never against any religion or Belief..
General knowledge prevents ignorance ..
Knowledge would never Force you to adapt a certain belief ..
You have your own brains to lead it or control it ..
But knowledge in general gives you a chance of knowing something..
When it comes to Egyptian Mythology I have always liked Anubis
Me too.
Best dog god.
the original furry
Me too! Idk why though lol
@@sona11111111so ya also like the old the mummy with Frazer
Sekmet, Bast, and Amun-Ra were always my favorites
I always liked Seth because it sounds like someone you work with
Greek And Egyptian mythology has always been interesting to me
Appreciate you making note of which period of ancient Egypt they were associated with, especially as it's such a long period and not all were worshipped at the same time
Ahhh yes my favorites are Slifer the Sky Dragon , The Winged Dragon of Ra, and Obelisk the Tormentor
Thank you so much for this list! There’s a lot of Egyptian deities here that were new to me. I’d like to point out one that I think you missed. Geb the god of earth and husband of Nut the goddess of the sky.
I am glad that you like it! and yes :(.. I didn't add Geb.. I didn't forgot him.. It was positioned at the top of the page when I recorded the video, and I accidentally overlooked it. I only realized the mistake upon listening to the playback on CZcams... :(
God Sobek is one my of my fav God and God Ra too.
I just watched this video and I still can't believe that you went through 100 gods in only 27 minutes... Wow!!!
Keep bringing more inspiring positive vibez love it❤
Thanks for your information brother 🎉❤
Wow many unknown gods and goddesses thank you so much for creating this video it's really useful for history lover like me
Glad it was helpful!
@@MythosTheHistorian it's very much helpful once again thank you so much for making this wonderful content
AWESOME!!! This is exactly what I am looking for!
I love your videos, thank you very much, ❤
Nice video. Thank you.
Great artwork
This is good, but you forgot/did'nt include; Hapi and Qebesenuef, 2 out of the 4 sons of horus. They protect the lungs and intestens.
Wow.. great list! It's the most comprehensive list of Egyptian Gods on CZcams by far! Love your tone! Good Job!
thanks m8! Glad you love it!
Hallo ..friend and team mythos..awesome..happy explore...
Its interesting that many of the deities overlap or share similar aspects. I know some of them are separated by generations. But I still find it interesting..
Wow....AWESOME, super comprehensive list. An actually useful vid. Every Egyptian god...in alphabetical order, with a short description of the who, what, where, when and why of each particular god/diety... wow. Thankyou for this.....its such an obvious and useful vid, yet you, as far as I am aware, are _the first_ content creator to do a vid like this.
Thankyou very much for this super useful and educational piece of brilliance.
thank you and glad that you loved it!
0:43 One lion is looking back at yesturday and the other is looking forward at tomorrow, the sun in the middle is today. So that said, it is about reflection and the horizon.
I love your voice for narrating
thank you!
I learned that Sehkmet was the female equivalent of Ra of sun aspects. As she was often depicted with the mane of a male lion, representing the sun's rays.
Where as Ra was rhe positive aspects of the sun, growing crops and light, Sekmet was the negitive aspects, high temperatures and skin burns.
One thanked Ra, but cursed Sekmet. Ra got the credit, and Sekmet got the blame.
it's better to be feared than forgotten.
Thank you 🙏🏽
I am a protestant christian but i love eygptian history and culture! It’s so fascinating to listen/read of historic stuff of eygptian culture.
I adore the Egyptian pantheon and the rationale for each of them. It's like knowing the psychology of the ancient people
You also forgot Nehemtawy(she who embraces those in need) in some stories was gifted to thoth as a wife when ra's eye went on a rampage and thoth convinced her to return.
Cheers!
i love Egyptian God's
You didn't say what Tutu was worshipped for. He was worshipped by all because he was the protector of dreamers and tombs. Because everyone dreams and everyone dies, he was a god for everyone and protected everyone rich and poor and in between.
My History and my Family and I know them better..
I pray for their blessings whenever I pray , and only God who leads me to it ..
So if he mistakes then at least I did my part the way I could..
I loved this video but considering he merged with a lot of the deities listed, you didn’t mention Ra in his own right.
Can u do God of magic, Heka?
You forgot a few of them...
Anput: Jackel Headed Goddess of Embalming, Funeral Rites and Mummification. She's the wife of Anubis and mother of Kebechet.
Geb: God of the Earth
Thoth: Ibis Headed God of Wisdom and Writing
I also think you only mentioned two of Horus' four sons.
Try to keep an open mind... Knowledge is power
Love from nature n hannah monds
Love from yaelchelbia
"Sacred Deities of Ancient Egypt" is a handsome and informative new book that tells the stories of the gods and goddesses of ancient Egypt. The book is filled with rich photos of the actual tombs and hieroglyphics along with the stories of their lives. Published by Fine Arts Press.
I like to know about it all
I've seen 2 headed dogs with human body similar to Egyptian god. That's why I am here.
I am Japanese/ American, but my great grandfather is Egyptian. He would tell stories about the myth of the gods, the Pharoah and the stories of the Egyptian empire. I love learning about other countries history, and their culture.
I finde that learning about others culture, you can understand people , why the culture is important, how they go about their lives,.
Tell do you have any siblings are you a twin??
@RedeemedSon777 I have a little sister her name is Luna kya and a little brother Avery taku. Kya is my sister middle name and taku is my brother's middle name. Mine is Hikari. Why?.
@RedeemedSon777 what can I say, I like learning about other cultures . I know all about my daddy culture ( he's American), and my mommy culture ( she was Japanese), I like to expand my knowledge. I like learning, it is a window into a view of others way of life. I love learning the different history, I often compare what I learned to things I see or read. Like attack on titan for example, I compare the war in the anime to the war and struggle of reality. It is enlightening what you can learn. Like armin from attack on titan, I tend to think that if we learn to understand each other, then we might be able to agree on thing's.
🌸 11:35 or 19:09 in the Grand Canyon, within a cave. The Indians called them ant people because they came from underground, from this cave
It’s possibility they found an EgyptianGoddess holding lotus flowers in each hand
I always wondered what goddess was that, I originally thought it was Quadesh
It reminded me of the Hindu goddess Lakshmi holds a lotus in each hand, I knew it wasn’t Hindu idol they found
Struggled to find right one on internet for Egyptian
i love Osiris Anubis Horus Ptah
Please, make videos with prayers to the Gods!
seth was always my fav idk why
THE EYE OF RA IS Ai AMUN UTILIZED IT TO THE BEST OF HIS ABILITY....
Egyptian and proud
What happened to Thoth god of The Moon, Scripture, Learning, and Reckoning. One of the most recognisable of all the Gods.
The headdress nearly always tells you the aeon being depicted in the relief.
Is there an Egyptian god that came down to earth during an event?
time stamp?
My favorite ancient egypt goddess was horus
Like your video but you've also forgotten Geb God of the earth and Thoth.
Thank you! Yes, Geb, I misread the script when I recorded the voice. As for Thoth, I don't have any excuse :) Moreover, I created a separate video about him several months ago: czcams.com/video/3q7rOfyNk7g/video.html
Kek… the Pepe meme makes sense now jkjk
How funny would it be if Heh was a god of laughter and joy? 😂
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I heard that Bastet/Bast was also associated with medicines/perfume (I forgot which it was) and/or protection as well. I’ve heard that Petbe was also a god of revenge, but I could be wrong. There’s not much info about him.
Dang that’s a lotta fertility gods, but I get it if they were created based on locations.
I feel a level of strength and unfiltered power and rage when I think of Sekhmet. Who would have thought that red wine disguised as blood would be enough to settle her down.
I believe on them not as myths but indeed as Gods
Dua!
Same here brother. Praise be to the Gods and Goddesses.
To many gods/goddesess of fertility
i love All Religion
Not incredibly fond of the gods that were incorporated during/after the Ptolemaic era, but I appreciate the video nonetheless!
Neteru Atum-Re
Shouts out to Lord Thoth!!!
i feel like almost all the gods had fertility in their job description.
I was born and grew up in Christianity but in a few days paste i found out my blood group 0+ i have to worship Egyptian Goddess Isis I'm happy to knew that. But truly i don't know how i could i start.end of last year i saw in dream a man who was showing up if i want to pray i have to keep my legs gross and doing meditation breathing in and out i did,l started to see light but after a few days the spirit disappeared.Truly I don't know what did i do wrong.I need your help just to teach me somethings to do i want my spirit to come back to me.So i can start to see again with my third eye.Thanks.
Huh
Where is Medjed?
What about ammit? I think thats how you spell it
Qebui was the god of the underworld? I thought he was the god of the north wind?
I love how pretty much every other deity is associated with fertility
You guys forgot geb
🙏🏻💯❤️🔥🗝😘
I can see where we get some of our English words from.
Where’s Menhit
So many egyptian deities like to do some fertility
Ostrich feathers but how
You forgot Wepwawet n..n
There are hundreds of Egyptian Gods. It depended on the region and time period. Some were considered concepts. Others had personal home shrines and not temples.
Amazing video. As someone who has mostly been occupied with greek mythology, i learned so much here.
But I wonder, why were there so many gods of fertility 🤔😮
As I said in a previous comment, that was their main interest. Practically the main interest of humanity since the beginning of time :)
Man they were all either prophets or righteous women , like wifes of prophets, daughters of prophets, the blessed Jacob's family in general 💜✌🏻🕊️☝🏻🌷
Where's Thoth (The Egyptian God Of Knowledge)?
Here :) : czcams.com/video/3q7rOfyNk7g/video.html
….. Kek ….. 🐸
Ancient Egyptian must have lived a crazy life with all these fertility gods
You forgot Geb and Toth
BAT was often depicted as a cow. Not confusing at all.
A
Wow I never realized how many fertility gods/goddesses they were ✨🤍
It amazes me how the Egyptians rather have multiple gods than 2 believe in the the GOD I Am, the God of Abraham and King David; The GOD of all gods.
all that for kratos to solo
I AM 🐅 🌟 PRESENCES
*”JUSTICE LIES WITH THE EGYPTIAN GODS”*
I didn't heard Ma'at
The Gods now of days live within the City of The Gods beyond our world. After the mystic wars all gods moved to the City of The Gods for safety from humanity.
Interchanging the Greek names and original names is interesting. I guess only a few could keep their original name. Smh.
He was considered the god of arm hair.
🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪🌪⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡⚡
When you need this many furtility gods theres a problem
Why so many gods of fertility
Because creation happens everyday, everyday something/someone new is born.
Notice the 🇪🇬 Gods never speak of prophecies?
The Astarte image you showed is Lilith from the Bible, the devil’s second wife after Eve
Quite right there, however, Lilith is also known as Astarte and Ishtar and has been linked with Kali and Freya too, on that point he isn't wrong to show Lilith, but his pronunciations of names is quite atrocious, even his pronunciation of the word Die-Nasty instead of Din-Asty, for someone with what is supposedly an English accent that is just so very wrong, I am even beginning to doubt that he is even English but I'm unconvinced that he isn't unlike some narrators such as the one on the Kings and Generals channel who is obviously faking at best a seriously bad English accent for God only knows what reason.
Hermanubis is the son of Hermes and Anubis. They always leave the gay stuff out.
