    If stuff is soldered into the board, could you replace the parts by soldering the old or bad parts out and repalce the old or bad with new ones? Like take for instance a processor or a GeForce chip. They are all sodered into the board right now. Are they different from what we have in desktops? If not, then I would have to rig a system together, develope a case and solder some parts together in order to have a laptop that could replace parts. Talk about a lot of work and a bigger laptop, but it would be cheaper then buying a laptop over 5 to 10 years.

    • @dmvcomputerman
      @dmvcomputerman  Před 6 měsíci

      yes you can do so but the skill level to do so is very high level. You will need a soldering class and also access to the schematics of the motherboard as well as under stand how to read the schematics

    Hi, could you not desolate and remove a faulty USB socket rather than replace the whole board?

    • @dmvcomputerman
      @dmvcomputerman  Před 9 měsíci +2

      If you are comfortable with soldering you can replace components on the board and not replace the whole motherboard yes

    • @Bradleyncmod
      @Bradleyncmod Před 8 měsíci +1

      I have seen Mac internal hardware and I have opened a acer windows laptop and also opened Chromebook I can confirm you don’t have to replace a board on desktop but on a windows laptop the usb socket is directly connected to the motherboard board no separate wires

    • @cptrush3671
      @cptrush3671 Před 7 měsíci

      yes you can. in fact most parts on the board can be replaced. but it will be based on the skill of the person working on it. if your not skilled at doing it then i dont think anyone would recommend you do it. you would also need the right tools to do a good job which can be expensive.

    • @Bradleyncmod
      @Bradleyncmod Před 7 měsíci

      @@cptrush3671 ya so I would recommend replacing the whole board if your doing yourself but you could spend money on someone to do it for you to replace those components

    Heat sink of my Lenovo IdeaPad 3 is burnt but laptop is still working, but sometimes it just shut down. Will they need to remove the whole motherboard to fix it? And will they also have to replace a fan or the hit sink goes separately. Please help.

    • @dmvcomputerman
      @dmvcomputerman  Před 7 měsíci +2

    can u tell us where's the gpu please ?

    • @JJFlores197
      @JJFlores197 Před 9 měsíci

      Depends on the specific laptop. Most laptops have integrated graphics. That means the graphics chip is built-into the CPU. Some mid to high end laptops, especially gaming laptops and workstation laptops do have a GPU. Most of them are soldered onto the motherboard just like the CPU. If you know what the CPU of a laptop looks like, the GPU will look very similar.

      unless the laptop is a gaming laptop or one with a serious gpu the gpu is just a small chip and will not be located because its not a interchangeable part
