      Africa or West Africa is not a Nation. African countries are distinctly different as the US is different from Canada or Mexico. Afrobeat is Nigerian. But Diaspora always wrongly attribute it to Africa. It's like saying Reggae is Caribbean, instead of Jamaican. Afrobeats is Nigerian.       "Afrobeat" is a genre created by Nigeria artist fela Kuti. "Afrobeats" was coined by a U.K based Ghanaian Dj, as an umbrella term to refer to modern music coming out of west Africa.

      It's been a whole load of insult to 9ja, that some of the organisers and actual owners of those events are Nigerians, yet they taking such economic outsourcing activities into other countries but their own home nation, just because there's some nonsensical insecurities and political instability narratives been spearheaded by the western powers against Nigeria.       Afrofuture can never make it in Nigeria until they work on security issues. Ghana 🇬🇭 is peaceful enough to accommodate all. Nigeria 🇳🇬 needs to work on the power system. Only advantage is the numbers against Ghana.
      Oh by the way afrobeat is west African music fusion like highlife, hiplife, jazz and more including amapiano. Nigerian should realize that now. Ghana use to be on top before they lost the sound to their brothers next door. SA is really pushing as well. One African ❤

    Some misinformation in your video:
    (1) Afrobeats is NOT a generic term that define African Music in general!
    (2) Burna Boy is NOT a *trail blazer* with the creation of Afrobeats. He is just a recent phenomenon. Before Burna Boy, artists like P-Square, D'banj, and many others were already long established in the genre. You guys just became exposed to Afrobeats in the era of Burna Boy.

    Guys, lets be frank to and with the fact that The U.S is very late to the global reach of Afrobeats. Afrobeats had already conquered Africa, The U.K, Europe long before the U.S caught wind of it. Afrobeats seems to be Nigerian in attitude, Culture and even fashion, but I feel the Black American diaspora should collaborate with artists from Africa more, which is one way of closing the gap if they want to embrace their Africanness.

      You r also late to the party. Wizkid is the trailblazer,he almost singlehandedly delivered afrobeat to the UK. Years later Davido came onboard n then burna boy n they hv all done magnificiently well for afrobeats but Wiz can't be overlooked in the afrobeat journey.

    Afrobeat was created by Fela Kuti in 1960s, he called it 'High Life', it is a way of giving a voice to Nigerian culture and protesting against imperialism. His son, Femi Kuti would then recreate and form the Afrobeat we know today,in a way, Femi Kuti became the true founder of Afrobeat, his Afrikawide hit song "Beng Beng Beng" is what set the fire for the Afrobeat style we know today.

My friends from the U.K got it and gone with it ,way before the U.S. Jamaican Artist , Reggae ect. Have made music with Afro beats artist. Plus this is a Youth African ❤ Music.     As a nigerian i dont think afrobeats is a nigerian thing.. Its origin is from nigeria and spread to other regions of africa and now to the world. I wud love to see hw flexible it cud be if mixed with other styles of music.

    I stopped reading comments bcos the most annoying is always from my country Nigeria. Fela created afrobeat and some Nigerian artists now made it popular. Now west Africa and other African got into it and all hitting it big. Afrobeat is now Africa and it means African beat. Afro is the black man so afrobeat is African music.
