Has to be one of the most rude and hilarious T1 counters I've ever seen
Not even started watching yet and I am giddy by this comment
That was brutal
if he keep that counterspell he could stop combo from winning, but t1 counter was hilarious
@@netzach13 I play rograhk and thrasios and I played 4 games with these dudes, won 3 in a row, game 4 Im turn 2 hes turn 3, I get a sick opener and pretty much slosh my way from a jeska’s will to dockside extortionist with the turn 1 player dropping 3 artifacts and me having 2 floating red open. turn 3 player cast pact of negation because he was tired of my shit. I killed him t1 at the expense of my dockside being countered. I ended up losing that game by thin margin.
@@yurkeijura1217 So many cEDH games go that way by singling out greedy keeps lol. Counter greedy keep to eliminate a player. lose to a combo lol
The last two turns of the game was like Indiana Jones vs. the dude with the sword.
"Look at all the stuff I'm doing - oh, I'm dead".
“Now dead in the water, Drake passes the turn.”
Lavinia MVP, without it, he wouldn't have won the game because both the other players would have gone off before he could win.
Lavinia is one of the most underrated cards of recent memory.
It earned its thumbnail image glory for sure
imagine the audacity of not only stopping your opponent from winning with LED and underworld breach but to then win with it that same turn.
Start of game: Wow, you really bullied Drake like that?
End of Game: You know what, fair.
I would have played straight into that Lavinia too lol. I'm glad to see I'm not the only CEDH player that can't read 😂
Ngl, Ben blindly walking into a Lavinia was funny, but Mark making the exact same mistake on the very next turn was funnier. You're playing the highest level of magic, buddy!
This is what happens when "random" unknown card appears in cEDH and bully table. Everyone didn't know what it is and consistently forgetting about it while trying to play in classic way. It's not about these guys, I've seen this many many times before. :D
the near blow out from a t1 swan song was absolutely epic
Clutch Chord of Calling responding to Lavinia trigger nonetheless tho
Krark, the Thumbless
Looks like Mark tapped 4 creatures for Chord, so it would also be countered by Lavinia since he paid no mana
I think he used at least one mana from his Nykthos
Didn't - tap Nythos for 8
Ewit for 3, 5 mana left
summoners pact, 5 mana left
chord convoked 4 for X =1, five mana left
Quirion Ranger for 1, leafcrown trigger paying 1, 3 mana left
Tap circle of dreams druid, adding 7 for 10 total green
Fierce Empath for 3, leafcrown paying 1, 6 mana left
Elvish archdruid for 3, leafcrown paying 1, 2 mana left
Sylvan Scrying for 2, no mana floating
So like, he COULD have paid and the only difference is he doesn't have Cradle in hand, but he didn't originally
Somebody get Ben a new ink cartridge for his printer
That Wheel was such a favor for Drake but that's how cEDH goes sometimes. Congrats on the win Drake
I wouldn't have cast Wheel. Leave Drake out of the game.
I definitely wouldn't have kept a hand with 2 baubles 4 lands and a wheel. Just casting a wheel and then passing the turn almost always ends badly
☹
Funny as soon as I saw the Lavinia I got excited since I played Lavinia against you guys this weekend in salt lake.
Honestly I think this is a good showing on why wheels can be dangerous. You're getting a fresh 7, but you're giving a collective 21 cards to your opponents. Unless you have something to take advantage of the wheel, I feel like it's generally risky to play wheels.
Sorry but if you swan song when I cast land grant with zero lands and that early in the game, there’s going to be a payback game.
Those Krark and sakashima flip fails trying to snap esika had me rolling. Karma for swan songing that mans attempt to get a land
Thank you for editing and posting this game.
The variety and flavor in this pod🤌
That turn 1 made me die on the inside! Still pretty good game ^^
I think Ben's wheel was a misplay, better to leave one player completely out of the game at that point
worst play in the game. playing into lavinia is an oversight (playing into lavinia afterwards is just lol) but he did not only refuel Drake but also gave a full grip to Bailey who had to Krarks out already.
Dude I feel like Drake was like "haha having fun? Good to hear man, anyways , gg"
Bailey seemed to REALLY not like Drake
Ive been watching your channel for months, and just noticed i wasnt subscibed... Youve now gotten a sub from me xD
Thanks for subbing
A deck I'd like to see again I haven't seen in a while is Yisan
Lavinia is a certified banger 😎
Really fun game!
5:29 Couldn't the copy maintain the original target (that no longer exists) since you *may* choose new targets for the copy? I thought spell copies maintain their target and don't get their targets changed unless some permission (which usually exists) allows it to be redirected.
Yes. But that’s a super obscure rule that doesn’t come up very often.
3:04 is this a BRO reference?
Can you upload the missing Decklists? Would be really interested ❤️
Never give up, never surrender
When can we see this ezuri list??
The krark sakashima deck seemed pretty interesting.
How did bailey cast storm kiln artist with krark triggers on the stack? I thought you cant cast permanents when the stack isnt cleared?
It was cast off of Tibalt's Trickery, which bypasses normal timing restrictions
Second video that I am waiting on the Ezuri’s list
Krark player messed up. He didn't have to target the original Consider or flusterstorm with the copy, because krark says "you MAY chance targets". This would have enabled him to go off in the next turn to counter the swan song and dig further with consider.
Even if the original spells target is no longer on the stack? I thought it couldn’t “keep the same targets” if that target no longer exists?
Three months later and I'm still checking daily for the Ezuri list🤣
I see Ben's proxies from Royal Tokens!
Nice
I would love to get a sliver game in with you guys
How many tundras is Ben playing? if he survails 2 of them in two turn cycles^^
How was Lavinia recast after the overloaded Damn? I didn’t see how they got the card back. Still great game!
It was bounced to his hand
Ah from the Snap. Gotcha I missed that. Thanks!
How did he surveil tundra into his graveyard twice via DRC?
Oh boi, I haven't watch you guys in a while, and I have to say either my memory is dogshit or the video production has increased quite a bit!
Were you saying "Chandler" or "Channeler"? Lol
ezuri list plz
Whoa an overloaded card that wasn't 7 mana?
I LOVE Damn in this side of the format. Versatile, lower MV, better for Naus.
gg wp
If thoracle was banned, what do you think would replace it as the tier 1 win condition?
Breach+Led+Brain Freeze probably
Probably Underworld Breach
Underworld breach is not itself a win con, but it enables a bunch of strategies (including thoracle lines). Does the win con just become brain freeze, and you mill your deck, then your opponents?
@@thesp1r1tdragon55 yeah, i would tend to agree. Usually that win con ends in a thoracle line, but it doesn't have to since you can just mill your opponents out with brain freeze.
It would go back to being Laboratoty Maniac
Man I was so excited to see a wincon other than underworld breach win the game.
Why play land grant over a land though...
Jeskai Ascendancy. It helps with storm turns.
They already answered but in addition due to the mana requirements Tropical Island is the first land you want in play generally so land grant is better than even something like Rejuvenating Springs due to Arbor Elf considerations. It also doubles as a free spell underneath Jeskai Ascendancy to make mana and "draw a card"
Is that Mark as in Mook or whatever, the dude from tiktok
It's not. We would love to meet him in person one day!
No. I’m “Mark”
Lots of cool stuff, still ended in a stupid thoracle combo though
Thoracle is so boring
Once again Ezuri casts a bunch of spells but has absolutely no impact in the game.
If I drew a way to create more mana from Regal Force (ie Vitalize, Mobile, Benefactor’s Draught, Wirewood Symbiot etc) I could have continued to combo off.
@@SHADOWSURPRIZE I'm not saying the deck isn't capable of doing stuff (even though I don't see what Ezuri brings over Marwyn or Selvala) but it's just funny that it was exactly the same last video.
@@thesp1r1tdragon55 Ezuri protects against a variety of removal. It is also a win condition with lots of mana.
8:18 ben surveils TUNDRA into his graveyard
9:50 ben surveils TUNDRA into his graveyard
Can someone explain?
Or is this cheating with proxies?
Yes, this is strange. From what I saw there was no shuffling. First I thought it was a Volcanic Island and therefore it was only a narration mistake but Volcanic Island is already on the battlefield. Maybe Plateau but I am not sure about the symbols, the quality is not that great. What I can say is the arts are definitely different.
This is a GREAT example of exactly why you should use real Magic art on your proxies. I think the land in play was volcanic island and the lands surveilled were, in order, underground sea, Tundra, and plateau
@@DrakeSasser Oh sure, I forgot it's 4 color deck. Then yes, It could have been Underground Sea.
Krark and sakashima are so annoying. 5 minutes to draw some cards, a lot of shenanigans etc. I dunno, not my kind of deck, take to long turns
Oracle is such an interactive combo.... Not
The countering of his own consider with flusterstorm, to then tibalts trickery the flusterstorm was a terrible play.
Would you rather maybe draw a card or instead cascade into a potentially game winning spell? Would’ve potentially won there had I maintained even close to a 50% heads/tails rate. I like those odds.
Lavinia stax viable? Lmao
Idk if this was a joke or not, but I have spent far too long playing lavinia stax and it is unfortunately not viable. You just kingmake the people before you in turn order.
Lavinia is great in the 99. Just doesn't quite get there in the command zone, however.
I think I would just scoop instantly if someone comes up with a Krark/Sakashima deck. 😂
I'm okay with that, easy win for me.
Same, i refuse to play against it too. Half the gameplay length of this video is them spinning their wheels and ultimately achieving nothing , every time i've played against it irl, the other 3 players lose interest in the game, look at their phones, start other conversations etc
@@ecclesiaandune687 It's cEDH. The deck has proven itself multiple times. You not wanting to play with it just means you want to curate your cEDH experience, which isn't a very cEDH thing to do. You don't hear modern players going "urgh, I refuse to play/instantly scoop against deck X".
If you have a player who is obviously not at home with the deck yet, tell him to please playtest some more, but a well trained pilot takes shorter turns than some naus players do.
@@nazgir5343 I agree…unfortunately, the player in this game was not a good krark pilot. Watching him waste every bit of interaction COUNTERING HIS OWN SPELLS to try and squeeze out value was horrible. Bet he wished he kept a counter when the damn went off the following turn 🙄
@@justinullman6253 actually that's a trick I've repeatedly done myself back when I used to run tibalt's trickery. It can be an amazing value engine. His only real issue was that he didn't know about the rule that you don't HAVE to redirect copies if the original's target it no longer on the stack.
One of the cards milled from trickery was a mind's desire, so if he had gotten a bit more lucky with that, we'd be congratulating him on his big brain plays of countering his own spells.
Bailey: Wtf was the point of all that on Turn 4?
Its a way to go off with double krark / saka triggers. Tibalt's lets you cast your own spells. If he had not gotten unlucky with some of his flips, he very well could've won right there.
I’m I the only one tired of seeing almost all game being won with Thessa Oracle?
Who could have predicted yet another thoracle victory 🫥
Thassa's Oracle is the worst card in this format. Such a boring win condition.
