It's so wholesome to see this incredibly beautiful dolphins having the time of their life out in the wild; jumping, dancing and enjoying life :)
If anyone reading this is wondering about Kaikoura, in New Zealand, it is exactly as depicted in this footage. Except for a recent big earthquake that has raised the seabed and changed some of the geography, it is still just as beautiful, just as mind-blowingly, bite-the-back-of-your-hand - awesome. I struggle to find enough adjectives for how it feels to see these wonderful mammals up close. I chartered a small Cessna and took my daughter up to fly over where a _superpod_ of duskies were doing their thing. They were having a party. It seemed to be the dolphin equivalent of a massive rave. Then we checked out the humpbacks and of course, just phenomenal. So, if you haven't been there then put it on your "to do" or "bucket" or whatever-else list and go there. Early springtime (late August - October) is when you'll see the snow on the peaks. Where this was filmed was probably less than 300metres from the main highway. You can actually see the seals right next to the road as you drive past and in some spots, you'll see humpbacks blowhole spray.

Sperm whales: we dive deeper and longer than any other whale. Cuvier's beaked whale: hold my beer.
Yea that's a good point. Another error is they said Sperm Whales are the largest predators. But the largest predators are Blue Whales - they may eat very small stuff, but much of those "stuff"(like krill) are still animals, there's no vegetarian whale! Though we tend to think of those that eat smaller foods in large quantities (Humpbacks, Gray, Blue, Resident Orcas, etc) as "vegetarians"
@@albertabound5124 No, they are carnivorous, but they don't have to hunt/fight for their food. They just go to a spot where the food is, open their mouths, and suck in huge amounts of water, then filter out the plankton. The crazy part is, after sucking in huge amounts of water, how little water they swallow. They actually get their water needs from the food.
