Thank you for making this video man. I've been grinding on my current run for so long just to get stuck at 280 trade. Thank you for helping me with this.
I gotta tell you something Flesson19 you are amazing!. I can't tell you how many times I've looked for a tutorial on this. And the person rushed the explanation didn't explain it enough. Glossed through the exploit but you!. No you took the time to explain every detail thoroughly and last night I reached trade 300 thanks to you. Take some time to pat yourself on the back you deserve it
Thank you, I did have a video over a year ago where I showed the whole process but after a year and many comments from people that just couldn't nail the process, I figured it was time to give the people what they wanted. No need to pat myself on the back, your appreciation is all I need.
This is AMAZING!! I just picked up the game and ran through Strat Gaming's guide on making millions with Smithing, but I also needed a way to level up Trading to get perks from that tree to generate influence and renown and make my build actually click, but leveling up trading legit is way too time consuming and boring. This guide saved me a day's worth of play, and for that I can't thank you enough!!
You're awesome
Sweet, Strat is my bud. Happy we could help
Thank you so much for this. I hope they make it easier to level up trade normally in the future. Could not get my trade up from 20, and now I can actually continue playing the game.
Mate...you are an absolute legend!!! This exploit is fantastic! and the best thing bout it is that it doesn't cost time cause the game is paused!!! I hate when I'm grinding black smithy and the rest of the world goes on and my character gets old!!! This is a thing of beauty !!!!!
thank you so much, enjoy
A couple of points to add here:
1) You'll reach level 300 faster if you also do this simultaneously with charcoal and wood. Sell your charcoal to the merchant and your wood to the town.
2) You can make money on every transaction with the town. If you move all of your steel types into the Sell category in town BEFORE you complete the transaction, the price of the steel you need to buy back drops to almost nothing. Move that steel into your pile and then move all the steel products you had put in the sell category back into your pile. Now complete the transaction. Does that make sense? This video explains the process using horses: czcams.com/video/c0o2YVNRq0E/video.html. Only downside is that the town will run out of money and you'll have to repeat this process somewhere else. Normally 3-4 towns.
Correct, I know the creator, he is one of the 2 that actually discovered this
BRO this was the perfect CZcams guide concise to the point 1 2 3 steps. Masterpiece of a video Flesson. Thank you for saving me from immenent bankruptcy.
You are very welcome
Im on 261 trade and man is it such a grinde to level this has helped... thank christ i was gonna give up!
My fav Bannerlord content creators for a long time, keep it up mate!
Thank you, cheers 🍺
For me when I tried to organically but focused on trading with minimal distraction it took me just over 1100 days to reach 300 trade. Wasn't until I started my own kingdom and did well doing so that I realized the real money was in selling loot from defeated lords and armies haha. Great video though because getting 300 trade for that one skill at the end is just ridiculous. Taleworlds should change this but again thank you for this video. Updated for the new version as well.
lookign forward to this... i have 14 caravans all running to my 7 shops been doing 'escort caravan'missions and trading between towns and NOTHING else for 3 rl days. 246 trade :(
I did this with over 1400 iron and 600 steel and got 143 skill points on my first go, dude youre a legend 🤣🤣🤣
Oh. My. Goodness. Whelp Flesson you have done it again you sick wizard mad scientist!! What a find! Where in the world do you come up with this stuff!?!?! As always- beautiful my friend!!

Thank you very much for this very simple demonstration. Leveling trade is such a chore, I do not find it enjoyable in the least.
your welcome, I had quite a few comments since I made the original video a year ago wanting to know how to do it simple and easy
Awesome!!! And I robbed the caravan afterwards of course 🤣Subbed
really, I never thought of that
love the vid. already got my blacksmith skill to 300 but trading do no good on me. this helps alot!
I found a way to max out trade for family members very fast. Gift then high end crafts and let them sell them. They jump mine jumped up to over 200 in one swing. Now, it was... an insane amount of crafted weapons, like 10 to 15 million worth each... anyway, easy way to get four family members a huge jump in trade and make millions. And yes, I crafted like 70 million worth of toys. It was stupid easy. Plus, family members are not restricted to towns gold caps, so swin away like Scrooge McDuck!
Yeah covered it a year and half a ago czcams.com/video/y8zeQGWC0is/video.html
This was a great guide thanks man :)
Ok not sure if this has been noted or seen before... If you are in a tournament with members of your clan that are not in your party there is some tale worlds math that happens for rewards. If your companion that is not in your party wins the item the gold value of the item is added to your gold.. however this is unaffected by the trade modifier or the gold value in the town so if you find a tournament for a helmet worth 75k to buy but you sell if for 20k if your clan member wins it you get the full 75k even if the town does not have that much and the item disappears and is no longer avail in the town. You can inc your chances of this by dropping all your clan members in town when you find a high cost item in a tournament. This is working in current build as of 14 nov no mods
wow i did not know that, never thought of testing
@@Flesson19 hopefully someone else can recreate it happened by accident for me at first with a governor winning then i tested..

What was that??? LOL 🙂 Awesome!!
Urgg, well I've done it legit (trading from town to town) for 2 games. So, I guess it's time for new game with this. Cheers!
Next question for you (since you've helped a lot with trade 🙂); current game, I'm a vassal of Vlandia. We are at war with everyone (after I basically took out all of Aserai and I got all of the towns and castles (-1); but I need/want peace -especially with the south/north/khuz, so I can go up and help with the Batts. But they never want to go to peace........... ...... even with Khuzait offering 9000+ per day.
@@tdotfun thats the issue with being a vassal, your at their mercy. I think the game factors strength too much and since you all are so powerful they dont want to peavce out
Thanks for the video! My saves got corrupted on PlayStation and really didn't want to redo all my trade levels.
This happened to me on first campaign was devastated wasted the first few days of the game. It seemed to happen when it was autosaving then when the game would crash and corrupt the file ( my game crashes all the time hope this gets fixed). I've took autosave off and do manual and hasn't happened since
2:59 just a time stamp incase I forget anything don’t mind me :)
This exploit still works today.
This can be done without caravan. You can just stay in city.
--> For this you should have about 100 steel, fine steel, T-steel (less is ok)
--> I bought all metal --> I sell all metal (only 4 most pricy are enough) --> I bay it back --> repeat.
--> It took me 10min to have tarade 300, and another 10min to 320.
Does not work for me.
v1.1.6 still working on Dec 1, 2023
I hope to almighty common sense that if Taleworlds patch this, they make the grind for trade and general xp a bit easier. Oh and I'm not even going to mention tactics.
I made a video a year ago showing the devs this and they haven't havent touched it
Interesting, I just started a trade campaign
You’re a legend.
No you are
bruh currently doing it and i got to level 285 now i have to do the trade back and forth 4 times per level im gonna cry
You need 8 into social to get 302. But it will take long I'd tou not dropping the price enough or not using a lot of materials.. the more materials you use, the lower you drop the price and the more tou have into intelligence, 9 or even 10 points it will go faster.
Thanks man!
Thank you for watching
definitely gonna try this !!

i use wrought iron
iron ore
iron
fine steel
steel
my stats SOC 6, trade 273
and it took me 3 rounds to reach 274. Is there something wrong that is making it slow?
if your at 274 its because you only have 6 points into trade. That caps you at 274, 7 points caps you at 288 and 8 at 302. I believe that will be the issue
@@Flesson19 and now what should I do to get that level
Wait this is basically money laundering in game 😂
well put
HOLY DIMINISHING RETURNS BATMAN!! at the 200 mark i started going down to 10 per boost and at 225 i'm getting 3 per trade....did i do something wrong? maybe i need to wait to have like 1k ingots or something before getting a trade skill at all?
it could be your social and focus into trade, since its 300 skill to get you need 8 points into social to get and that will be slow, with 9 or 10 its faster but you sacrifice those points And your right, the more metal you have the faster it goes, you want at least 150-250 steel to sell to town
Thank you so much for this, I started a new campaign and hated doing trading in the one before, it’s going to save me so much time ! Question tho, how many attribute and focus points did you put in social/trading before doing it ?
I think this one was maxed, but all u 'need' is 8 att of course 5 focus, less attribute just means it takes longer so you just need to decide how much time you want to spend doing it and potentially save a couple attribute point for other things
@@Flesson19 alright thanks !
Very helpfull
I can't get this to work, when I sell to the caravan in the last step I don't gain any trade skill. I've already sold it to him, bought it back, and am trying to sell again.
2 things, when you sell your steel to the town does the prices drop to around 15-20, also do you have atleast 8 into social and 5 into trade. I am bring the video from my guides channel over here soon which is more detailed than this general guide. It really goes into the details you might miss
March 26th, just attempted, patched on Xbox.
I havent had anyone else say ots not working. I put a more detailed version on my guides channel l. It's possible s process was done wrong
Am i doing something wrong here? I did it and first time got 83skill points, next was 23, then 6, then 3, an now not getting any each time and im only trade 139..
how many focus and attributes points you got, you need 5 focus and 8 attribute to hit 302 trade
@@Flesson19 this bit of info is very important for us noobs. thanks for always replying to the comments
I'm not even ashamed since they STILL haven't made it possible to gain trade skill points via caravan operation! (I know there's a mod, but it's the principle)
And I've done testing, it takes about 600-1000 days to get 300 trade, not many want to do that
Gretą. Thx
amazing
Old exploit. With it, you can up the level of trading, but also maximize the main level of the character. Limit - Level 62. It will take a lot of metals, in my case I was able to achieve 8 million experience in one sale. More is possible.
Legendary
This is so funny :D all players looking way to win with system this game. But usually bannerlord is not so hard even if u put max hard lv ;) i win without save/load.
Love me some good market manipulation, but one question. Why is steel the odd one out?
I've tried with all of them and it is a matter of numbers, its enough to drive the price down but not too much since you want most of your materials to go to the caravan for xp
Hey man love your content, especially the influence glitches. Does this still work? I’m gonna try tmr but I’d like to know a head of time.
yes it does, I do have a beginners guide also if you're newer to Bannerlord, since some people miss having focus/attribute points to max it and making sure you have enough materials to do the trade properly. Depending on that it can take ya 3-20 minutes to do it

There are 2, Lesser scholar did it in 18 minutes, so I did it the first 9 days. This was done over a year ago and now the economy is different so I think it could take about 15 days or so but I could still do it in the first month. This is the entire run, czcams.com/video/y1nqYfcdpJU/video.html

Deja Vu same video same voice same person same comments same way to rise skill but i remember this from long ago o.0 only my comment is different. Thanks "again" :)
I have a question about leveling.
My son and i were playing and i noticed a difference not sure if you can clarify.
The 1st lv25 character has
6- endurance,5-focus to smithing,
It says +200 learning limit. 50 from end and 150 from skill focus. He is at actually at lv252 smithing.
The other lv13 character has same stats to end with skill focus but is only at 174 smithing but the learning limit which i assume is green bar stops at lv200 what is causing the difference?
The learning limit or green bar is the point in which your learning rate or xp multiplier starts to drop for each thing you do. Those are different from your red hard cap, the max skill you can obtain
@@Flesson19 oh ok, yes ps5. so just because that stops i can still gains levels in it just at a decreasing rate. I saw where you can reach 275 by having only 6points in an attribute with all 5 focus but wasn't sure if that was accurate. Thanks for responding
@@lordrazor3160 anytime good luck
Whats the best way to get steel? Breaking down weapons? I just got the game a few days ago and i want to test kingdom buying. Lol
yes pugios from empire towns and tribesman daggers from all but khuzait, vlandia and battana
In terms of finding the best town, what should I be looking for? The highest sell prices of metal?
right, your looking for what metal sells for the most, which is why I pick sanala, Quisara can be good also
But it´s the final version of the game isn´t it? Will be fixed soon I guess. Nice Video!
I posted it yet again to the devs today to see their response
you dont have to lose money when you do this. you just dont sell so much to the carvan to where you go negative .
yeah its about time, selling less just takes longer
Can confirm, it still works in the newest version
Didnt have it as good, but thats because i didnt have as much steel, iron etc 🙄
Still got over like 20-30 points for each time i have done it (until higher where i have gotten 15 ish)
And alltho you lose a little, its not a lot…
With what resources i had to sell and buy… I started with just below 200k… After doing it… 20-30 times maybe more… I am now on 183k

Do you have 8 social and 5 trade, that's needed to hit 302
Could you double tap this exploit if you trade with your own caravan? Meaning could you skill up your companion at the same time?
No you cant trade with your own caravans, no dialogue option
@@Flesson19 Aww damn, bummer.
Well it would have been too good.
Does this still work? I tried it last night several times and never got it to work
It's interesting.. we wouldn't need this "exploit" if trading wasn't so hard to level up
I suggested it be moved to 275 like all other skills then the grind would be reasonable
Did this successfully from 260-274, all of a sudden not receiving any xp. Numbers are not red so not at limit, just stuck at 1911/40k xp. Any suggestions?
First thing I want to think is 7 points into social? Even though you said it's not red
How much gold would you say we roughly need for this.
to be safe 150k to buy back as you lose money
If I do this with one of my own caravans sitting outside of the town will it give my caravan leader trading xp as well?
that is a good question that I never though of testing
@@Flesson19 I tried to do this but unfortunately the conversation tree does not allow trading, only "About your position in the clan...", "We need to talk business", and "I must leave now." The talk business option only goes to profitable trades between towns.
@@tomsbasement4884 maybe they actually thought of that ahead of time for once
I wonder if it is possible to level up to 300 in a single transaction. I would be willing to sink millions of denars into such a thing in order to avoid spending focus points on trade.
I'm not sure it works like the roguery exploit where it overflows above your hard cap. Interesting I didn't test that
@@Flesson19 well thanks for making the video anyway Its nice to know regardless for anyone with a social intelligence character. they usually ship with focus points in trade that I ignore because just selling my crap for a good price isn't good enough. I rarely need to buy anything and the things I do buy I dont sell.
If I were the devs I wouldn't spend so much time tweaking the economy without significantly increasing the potential interaction with it. owning workshops and caravans should be like minor versions of fiefs and parties, with rival gangs and merchants working against you buying up your input supply, opening competing workshops and plotting to raid your caravans. I think that clan tiers up to three and the early story should be focused here. there is massive roleplay potential going unrealized in every area not just trade, almost like what we have right now is still the skeleton of an excellent game which is waiting to get some meat on the bones.
@@emrysmyridden yeah that's why I mod, no meat, it's too bland

do you have 8 points into social and 5 intro trade, also when you sell your steel to the shop how much is the price. Most likely your not selling enough to drive the price down. This video is for an intermediate guide for people that know how the economy works. On my guides channel I really go in depth and show you exactly how the steps works. how much steel are you using, you need to ship around 150 to the town to drive the price down. Also you need social and focus into trade to gain levels. The more materials you use the faster it will go
Okay, I can only get this to work once. I get the trade boost just as shown. But, when I try to repeat it, I get nothing. I am on PS4, so I did as suggested, and saved and reloaded, but it still gives nothing. Do I need to max my focus points in trade? Has there been a patch since this video was made? I'm lost
what is your cap, you will need 8 social and 5 in trade since that will put your cap at 302
Okay, maybe it is working.... only much more slowly without the focus points
@@Flesson19 the first go, I went from 18 trade to 86. The next time I went from 86 to 99. My social is 4, and I now have 1 focus point in trade .

Ugh, ffs Taleworlds. I just want to be able to do the logical thing of offering fiefs to lords when recruiting, like any good king/queen would. *Bangs head on desk*
I am literally doing what you are doing step by step with may more material and I'm barely getting a point per time...
do you have enough focus and attribute points into trade and social
What is the best way to level trading and make money without using exploits?
it's just buy low and sell high. I will be showing it Wednesday the 11th first thing when I stream at 2 PM EST GMT -5
Do you have to so much materials?
the more materials you have the faster it will go, and you want at least 150 steel to drive the price down, closer to 250-300 would be ideal. So the more you have the quicker it will be

You can use any metal to drive the price down in town, to maybe around 15. Only reason I said steel was to keep it simple. @@kalebduggar4251 right since you smelted it, once sell it then buy back it is available for trade xp
Correct me if I am wrong but this does not work anymore
what patch, 1.2.9? There is info missing you might not know, making sure the price in town is around 13, have 8 social and 5 trade. That info is in my beginners guide
Will this work with any item, or does it HAVE to be steel?
U want steel, sincenits in the same group as the other, metals, like pack animals being a group, and metal works the best to sell to town
This does not work. I've tried it 5 times now and no trade level up.
How much steel are you selling to town and do you have focus and attributes to trade
how did you get so much metal btw?
This is from an original video that I smelted for over an hour getting all the metal
