  • I'm going through the process of me fixing dead keys on an Akai MPK Mini Keyboard. I plan to use this keyboard to help me compose an original intro song for the channel. Here's a quick run down of what I did.
    -Opened up the keyboard
-Clean the PCB contacts for the keys. I used a cotton swab dipped in 90-100% Isopropyl alcohol
    -Dried out the keyboard
    -Reassembled it.
Hope you find this video helpful

Thank you so much. Three keys weren't working: the keys under EXCL, INCL and SING 61%. Your thorough walk through on how to fix helped. Now all keys work!

Put me to think, I have an old PRS-70 with a mum key, the challenge is to take it apart, done that, I should be something easy to do, thank you for the video; especially useful and encouraging

Thank you man so much. Btw if you use isopropyl alcohol do don't have to wait one hour, it evaporates instantly XD

My key under 1/4 takes multiple presses for it to respond. Shall I proceed with this?

Thank you for video. I made all what you show. But what is the reason of this problem¿ why it’s happening?

I honestly don't know the exact reason, but this happens with other electronics after they age for a while.

I don't know what dettol is. I'm not an expert at this I just use what I know.

Is that a Chromebook? If so, what software is it?

1:10000000000 chance, that the same keys will die in 2 separate devices - but guess what... same keys are dead in mine MPK - thanks for this video!
