Matam | Yaa Hussaini Madhulumu Sala Twakuslimu
*Yaa Hussaini Madhulumu Sala Twakuslimu* is a traditional matam (elegy) recited during the commemoration of Ashura, the day of the martyrdom of Imam Hussain (as). This matam expresses the grief, sorrow, and reverence felt by the followers of Imam Hussain (as) for his ultimate sacrifice in Karbala.

Yaa Hussaini madhulumu sala twakuslimu,
Kwa machozi na majonzi, tunakupa salamu.
Karbala ni ushahidi, wa kifo chako cha heshima,
Kwa ajili ya haki na dini, ulitoa maisha yako.
Kwa ardhi ya Karbala, damu yako ilimwagika,
Ewe kiongozi wetu, upendo wetu umejaa.
Kwa moyo wa huzuni, tunakukumbuka milele,
Yaa Hussaini madhulumu, tunakupa salamu.
Ulipigana kwa ujasiri, dhidi ya dhuluma na uovu,
Kwa jina la Mwenyezi Mungu, ulisimama kwa haki.
Kwa familia yako na wafuasi wako, ulijitolea,
Yaa Hussaini madhulumu, sala twakuslimu.
Sauti za majonzi, zinatoka kwa wapenzi wako,
Kwa matam na kilio, tunakuomboleza.
Ewe kiongozi wa mashahidi, nuru yetu ya milele,
Kwa mapenzi na maumivu, tunakupa salamu.
Ewe mtoto wa Fatima, moyo wetu unalia,
Kwa kifo chako cha haki, tumepoteza nuru.
Kwa jaha na huzuni, tutaendelea kuomboleza,
Yaa Hussaini madhulumu, sala twakuslimu.
Kwa maombolezo haya, tunajaza moyo wetu,
Kwa upendo wa Hussain, tunaishi kwa kujitolea.
Kwa kila kilio na machozi, tunakuadhimisha,
Yaa Hussaini madhulumu, sala twakuslimu.

*O Oppressed Hussain, We Send You Salutations*
O oppressed Hussain, we send you salutations,
With tears and sorrow, we offer our respects.
Karbala bears witness, to your noble death,
For the sake of justice and religion, you gave your life.
On the land of Karbala, your blood was shed,
O our leader, our hearts are filled with love.
With a heart full of grief, we remember you forever,
O oppressed Hussain, we send you salutations.
You fought with courage, against tyranny and evil,
In the name of Allah, you stood for justice.
For your family and followers, you sacrificed,
O oppressed Hussain, we send you salutations.
Voices of sorrow, rise from your lovers,
With matam and lamentation, we mourn you.
O leader of martyrs, our eternal light,
With love and pain, we send you salutations.
O son of Fatima, our hearts are weeping,
For your righteous death, we have lost a light.
With grief and sorrow, we will continue to mourn,
O oppressed Hussain, we send you salutations.
With these lamentations, we fill our hearts,
With the love of Hussain, we live in devotion.
With every cry and tear, we honor you,
