I have been watching other videos featuring smaller towns to figure out where to move and this was the best one - here’s why. One’s made by Tori’s offices and realtors are biased and only show the ‘nice parts’ of town, but yours was long and went everywhere including walking up some alleys - and even the alleys were nice! Other videos are made by regular people but there is one guy who makes them with his girlfriend and he is nice and a cheerleader of small towns but he has these irrelevant conversations with the girlfriend that are off topic and distracting. Then there is a guy named Briggs who narrates his videos with important facts about cost of housing, crime, whether the town has decent internet but the video of the town only sows a generic shopping center or a couple of houses. Your video didn’t have an annoying soundtrack or any narration so completely unbiased. It was long enough that it covered a lot of Staunton and let the unexpected beauty and peacefulness speak for itself. It spoke to me - this is now on my list as a potential place to move. I will check out more of these to see if there are other hidden gems. Thank you so much for making it as it’s not possible to fly or drive to every place ….I know bc I did a 3 month road-trip to get an “initial impression’ and so many places I arrived at and discovered in 30 min were going to be taken off my initial list. Your video did the ‘legwork’ literally for me to know it would be worth the trip to check it out in person 😀
Thank you so much! We think a lot can be told just by seeing places in a realistic fashion, which is our whole purpose in showing them. We started making these walking tours because we found it so interesting to see places we would never likely go ourselves. We found value in that. Good luck in your search! Every time I went to Staunton I was captivated by it.

Hey City Wander, I previously wrote that I loved your video of Staunton so much that I plan to visit by the end of the year to check it out as a place to live. When I visit I want to also see some other places…do you have any plans to make a similar video of Radford, VA, Christiansburg, VA or Culpeper, VA? Your videos are so helpful that it would help me plan an itinerary and long long my trip would be. 😀

This city is great for people with no kids. Staunton has literally shut down ideas for children and teenagers, they recently even demolished our mall and putting low income apartments and more gas stations and possibly a bank in the area. The kids only have the gypsy hill park left. Years ago we had a skate ring but they sold it to a carpet company as a show room. There is a bowling ally but it’s so high in price that it’s unlikely I’ll ever take my kids bowling anymore. Anyways this town in made for retirees and people with no kids.

I enjoy this video it's beautiful city but I don't see human being traffic where is the people?
It was shot closer to pandemic times so less people were out and about.
