I built my 1971 with a 350 small block 350 Turbo trans. It was the only engine I every built. I was so proud, she ran strong. It was my daily and I would race at the Ohio Valley Drag Way on Friday nights. Gave her away for 2500 wish I never sold her my health is bad and I can't build another car. 😢
My dream car 69 nova. My first car was a 79 Camaro but the body lines of the 69 nova and options in the engine bay makes the nova a must have. . Love the channel guys. You do great work

My dad always told His wife that it was for her to drive and race and also for us boys. But then fixed it up and never let us drive it. It worked we believed it every time and his wife wasn’t mad thinking she would drive it. He even convinced her the plum crazy purple color was her idea.

I had a 86 Chevy k20 custom deluxe farm truck with a balanced rotating assembly 75 Chevy 4 bolt main 0.30 trw hypereutectic Pistons and file fit piston rings, with a competition cams Xtreme energy 268h cam kit 474/480 lift 221/224 duration 107 lobe separation... With the summit racing brand Pete Jackson style gear drive timing set, machined for more noise, and the nova is about what my truck sounded like lol, it had heddman full length headers.
So glad you tossed that gear drive. Sounds much better.

Ahhh,, luv a gear drive,, it sounded purdy good Dad. edit: awww nutz,, guess you didn't care for that gear drive whine eh. I always loved the sound myself, had one in my 468 Nova ('63). You could hear it whine from 2 blocks away and I was cray about it. Also there's no stretch in a gear drive as opposed to a chain. Oh well, your car bud,, we love it too and are looking forward to the next few months as you bring it back to life.

I think the Nova used to belong to a friend of mine here in upstate NY. It was painted back in 1992 or very close. It had a Ford 9 inch at one time.
