AfriForum's Ernst Roets' speech at the United Nations on anti-minority discrimination in SA

- If racism is measured by the amount of race laws that a government implements, the South African government - with more than 125 racial laws - surely constitutes the most racist government in the world.
On 2 December 2022 Ernst Roets delivered a speech on behalf of AfriForum at the United Nations Forum on Minority Issues about discrimination against minorities in South Africa. In the speech, he particularly mentioned the ANC's race laws and Julius Malema's hate speech. Roets also commented on the UN's poor track record when it comes to the prevention of atrocities and said that this is largely because the UN values diplomacy with oppressive governments above the promotion of freedom on ground level. The only way for the UN to make a sustainable contribution would be to decentralise its approach.

A Brilliantly & succinctly presented speech. Dankie Ernst. May this cause some inward looking amongst the attendees, especially with the reality of the flagrant misconducts of countries /states as in the case of the invasive war by Russia in Ukraine in the daily news. The implications, such as a large scale population flight, the receiving & hosting of these by other countries, the financial implications, the destruction of infrastructure & other darker threats.
In the case of South Africa, should the present state of affairs continue & worsen as the substantial non black minorities are treated like unwelcome visitors by the black government, this country, without the white business acumen, influence & capital will finally collapse into just one more failed African state.

If the Anc was actually a dictatorship, probably Afriforum would have been banned. But there's freedom of thinking and speech in South Africa. It's not like in Iran or Afghanistan, where you are just killed or imprisoned if you oppose the work of the government.
@Paleis Heuwel I think that South Africa should become a federal state. Because afrikaners, coloureds and indians are so unhappy with the Anc unitary government. It should be divided into ethnically different regions. Western Cape for the coloureds and whites, KwaZulu for the zulus, and also a little boerestaat. A Yugoslavia-like country is the best practical solution.
@@valeriorossi5035 That would be very complicated as almost all of South Africans, travel all over the country for jobs or better opportunities. Federalism could work, but minorities will still need protection. No way Xhosa children born in the Western Cape, will move back to the Eastern Cape, where their ancestors are from. Same for all ethnicities that moved to Johannesburg for work. What Ernst is asking is protection of & non-discrimination of minorities incl. Afrikaners. Afrikaners live in every single town of South Africa, outside of the former black Homeland-areas.
