The first time I heard this song was in the forum in Waterford I think it was 2002 Christy Moore, I remember it was a very spiritual, and i became very moved by it, about 5 years later my wife bought me a book for Christmas written by Christy, it's amazing he speaks about that night in the forum he said he had a very spiritual experience. The Bright Blue Rose is not only an astonishingly beautiful song....It is actually a PRAYER. "She" being the Virgin Mary. And Jimmy desribed in astonishing clarity the Immaculate Conception by what can only be called GENIUS.
As Jimmy himself said, it can be whatever the listener believes it to be. That's what makes a song special if it resonates with you, then that resonance is your connection to that song.
