YES! This girl really said no to receiving a present out of PETTINESS (not even the good petty) and only said no because “if he had to ask then I don’t want it.” Like what? This isn’t even her boyfriend. She referred to him as “this guy she’s talking too” so they’re not even in a relationship and she’s expecting wifey treatment. These mind reading games are getting old. I have an extreme shrimp allergy and I tell that to almost everyone I knew so they won't accidentally give me shrimp. If my bf gave me a shrimp I would totally dump him too. If she's dating her bf for half a year then surely he know that she never eat sugar (also she mentioned that her bf knows too).
Well it's just my opinion, my allergies and her diet is different things so maybe dumping him is too extreme but as for me I wouldn't want anyone who doesn't pay attention to my health issues too.
My Mamaw welcomed my husband into her house for the first time by telling him "You are welcome to fart in my home at any time." She believed holding it in would hurt your intestines. She really earned my husband's love when she shouted "Vitamins in the air," in the grocery store while we shopped with her for the first time together. He cried as much as I did when she passed away. She was so much fun.

The girl who dumped her boyfriend over a basket of cookies seems so incredibly full of herself. He dodged a massive bullet there. Even before the cookie part happened, the fact that she got pissed that he asked her about what she'd like for her birthday is so outlandish to me already. I would prefer he asked me over getting me something I have no need or use for.
I agree that the beginning was so entitled but at the same time it sounds like she's so full of herself that she would always mention her diet. At the end we have no idea what really happened.

I saw someone saying that Charlotte’s reaction says a lot about her, but with all the information op is (probably intentionally) withholding we don’t know who’s in the wrong and if someone is in the wrong, so it’s hard to not make assumptions.
Totally agree with this - as a woman. I don't know about the cookie thing, more history/context needed about her dietary preferences. But I was stuck on the part before that where he asked what she wanted and she said "nothing," while totally not meaning it as some sort of test. That is called *dishonesty*. I hate when people pull the "you have to read my mind or else you don't love me" bullcrap. All healthy relationships are built on open communication. Help your partner understand you, and make effort to do the same in reverse. Is it very hard to understand?

Getting upset by chewing, gulping, or sometimes even yawning is a very real thing. It’s called Misophonia. It can be very difficult for the person who lives with or has friends who don’t understand this extremely difficult problem. Yes, I have Misophonia. And I have friends who are aware of it. My bestie goes out of their way to make sure they don't make any irritating noises while I talk with them online. Some people don't understand that certain noises affect us, even our moods changed. I've grown up with this, I believe, all of my life. I remember at a very early age I hated to sit at the table with the family and hear all the smacking and scarfing noises, but I had to sit through it. When I found out about Misophonia, I was to elated because it's a very real thing. ASMR are out of the question for the most part.

Unfortunately I am occasionally surrounded by people who know this and make these noises on purpose and think its funny. Then they get all "its just a joke" when I get mad and get up to leave. Growing up I was always called a "bi***" because I would always ask my family members to chew with their mouths closed.....and when they wouldn't I would keep telling them...... Unfortunately in my household I wasn't allowed to eat elsewhere....
Its the reason why I cant have a dog. While i love dogs, I cannot handle all the disgusting sounds they make.
Like Mandrake The Magician said, ASMR is out of the question. It makes me almost vomit because of the sounds. And don't get me started on mukbangs. UGH!!!
Oh hell yeah - wet mouth sounds are the bane of my existence 24/7 and guaranteed to make me rage if it goes on for more than a second or two, and then others are dependent on how tired I am: my son came into the room this morning and I'd only had one mouthful of coffee and he sat on the office chair and kept lowering it and raising it in little spurts and I snapped at him (to which I felt bad, but I've explained to him that my overt reactions arent really his fault and I always apologise profusely once I've calmed down a bit).

Tbh. it doesn't even have to be misophonia. Most people would dislike it if someone chewed/gulped obnoxiously around them. She was exaggerating to annoy him, and you can tell that she started before she recorded the video.

My fiancé response time is typically yelling if I’m ok across the entire apartment. If I don’t respond in any way he will go back to whatever he was doing. If he hears a second sound of pain from me, then he will rush to me. Some videogames are just too hard to pause. 😂 I love him to pieces. He can be so dumb but so can I. I think our stupidity counterbalance each other. We seem to cover areas where the other lacks.

That being said, I can confirm that breast milk is very sweet. I nursed my daughter & one day after nursing her, I picked her up over my face. She up-chucked directly into my mouth. Of course I tasted her stomach acid but I also tasted my milk. I never picked her up over my face again. 😐

As somone who used to breastfeed, I can confirm it does taste different depending on what you've eaten, but mine definitely tasted like vanilla almond milk. It was very sweet and I was actually pleasantly surprised. I accidentally squished my breast putting on my bra and I squirted my face... embarrassing, but funny.

My husband and I have been married 8 years, but about 11 or so years ago, we were still in the early stages of dating. We had been out shopping or something all day and as Charlotte said, I had been "marinating" one for hours. He needed to stop by his apartment to get something before dinner, so I took the opportunity to quietly let it out while he was upstairs. He got about half way down when he yelled, "What the * - I'll never get my deposit back now - you peeled the paint off the walls!" He was laughing and I was mortified for a moment, but began to laugh with him. It really was that bad. LOL So now, he gets what he asked for and I just let 'em rip in front of him -- unless we are out in public, then I wait until we're back in the car. Oh my! lol
When I was in school (14yrs) I felt like i was pressured into saying yes to a guy by my friends and went out with him. After 2 weeks he bought me a stick of rock saying 'I love you' for XMas. Not kidding, I freaked. I gave it a couple of days and explained that whilst it was sweet, I did not love him and thought it was too soon for him to be expressing that too. He wasn't happy and said he meant it which just made me itch to leave the room. Basically ended up with us split and everyone calling me a female dog for months just because I felt uncomfortable with a person I barely knew professing their love to me.
I leave the room to toot, but I'll be staring him down with the silliest evil face while also RIPPING AAAAASS, and all he does is laugh and make fun of me and say things like "thank God I don't have to smell that one" or "maybe you should, ya know, shake your pants legs out, or do a lap around the house before bringing the left overs of THAT into our room..." lmao he's honestly the funniest man I've ever met. We laugh absolutely all damn day. And I love it.

With the cookies thing... sometimes giving to others on your birthday is a greater gift for you than whatever someone got for you. So a polite "thanks, but you know I don't eat this stuff, right?" coupled with maybe a video or explanation of how great it was to give away the cookies to random strangers, would've been the way to go.
My husband used to bring me boxes of chocolates, chocolate covered cherries and reeses minis (my favorite). I finally told him thank you, and I dearly appreciate it (I really did), but I try hard to put effort into eating healthier and these wonderful, tempting treats don't really help. I told him that I'd be much happier if he just bought me flowers.
The dude has been positively drowning me in flowers for the last decade. I have bouquets of dried flowers on the walls of every room, hanging from light fixtures, and art projects with preserved petals and SO much more. He's bought me expensive arrangements, $5 flowers from Walmart, and even picked flowers for me on his lunch break. If the man brought me a handful of mangled dandelions or a pretty rock he found in the parking lot, I'd swoon and mean it, because what means the world to me is his effort. The thought really does count.
And yes, it does feel good when other women ask about all the dried flowers and the bouquet in the kitchen and the one in the living room and the one on the dining room table AND the one on my bathroom counter and I explain that my husband just brings me flowers all the time.
It funny because he couldn't afford much of a ring when we got engaged and some bratty females loved to make snarky comments about my tiny stone back in the day. (I love my ring.) Funny thing? Every woman who acted like that is no longer married and my guy and I are still going strong after more than 30 years. (happy marriage - that's my petty revenge)

Change a few details and that could be me and my wife. I bought her jewelry every year for her birthday (and Christmas since she was a Christmas baby) after we got married. After several years she told me she really loved what I had given, but she doesn't really wear much jewelry so she had enough. I was young so I thought that's what you were supposed to get. I got her something else after that. And for the engagement/wedding ring I was 1 month into my first job out of college. Had almost zero credit so I got what I could afford. It was tiny but she had small hands and she loved it. Offered years later to get her something bigger and she had no interest. Almost 38 years here.
I want to like your comment 50x over!!! It sounds like my hubby and I! He bought me ring and I LOVED it, but I got the sparky remarks from those type of women too,but you know what? Just like you, I did not care because I knew how much love he put into getting me that ring and that is more valuable to me than any diamond. And instead of flowers, he buys me things I collect ,I do also get flowers/cards from time to time. He likes to buy them at randomn, which I love. He would just show up at my work with a card and a vase of flowers. The same girls that talked crap about my ring, would make comments about my flowers saying he must be in trouble or something. No sweetie, he just loves me. That is why you are either single or in a miserable relationship. I have an AMAZING husband that loves me so much, and is not afraid to show it. We are going on 11 yrs together, married just over 3, and we are closer than ever. We don't fight about the typical things couples fight about, we don't have the same problems you typically see in a marrige, and we are genuinely best friends. At this point we don't even wear rings. I refuse to have him spend a large amount of money on a materialistic item. We have decided to just tattoo our ring fingers with our wedding date. I love hearing other people's stories of successful relationships. Esp ones like yours being so similar to mine. It gives me hope that what we are doing is working, and I hope to make it to 30 yrs with him.

Back in the last millenium (I'm so old), I was dating a man for 4 months when my birthday rolled around. He bought me a carton of whoopers for my present. He had a good paying job, but I was his first girlfriend and did not have a clue. However, I did not dump him for this. We did eventually break up, but even though we live in different countries we're still friends to this day. Some people just arent't good present buyers. If you dump someone because of a gift, it just shows that having money spent on you is one of your priorities. No judging...we all have our deal breakers. But don't let material things be the main thing that drives you.
Exactly. My first bf was terrible at Valentines day gifts...what did I do? Buy my own chocolate when I got his gifts! I was his first gf ever so I definitely didn't hold it against him. Actually, my last bf was the same. I was pretty much his first serious gf too. It can take men a while to figure out how to buy gifts for girlfriends and spouses.
My family is totally bad at picking gifts for me, so lists are necessary. The only problem is that even given the list or told exactly what item I want they often go off script...and it's usually something I'd never buy for myself. Like, thanks for trying, but can I have the receipt please?
My dad never did quite figure out my mom's taste in jewelry or gifts, they divorced about 20 yrs ago, so once my sister and I were old enough he'd ask us for help getting her gifts. Honestly, we picked out some great gifts for her, and still do! Dad pretty much sticks to chocolate or wine now. Small food gifts because we still all do holidays together and they've stayed friendly all these years.

My husband is a disabled veteran and while he was in the military he learned to clean his plate very quickly so now when I make him dinner he basically shovels the whole thing into his face in record time and then has the audacity to get grossed out at the sound of me eating noodles WITH MY MOUTH CLOSED! Well Jak if you just ate at a normal pace ypu wouldn't be sitting silently listening to me eat 😆
My ex would stand in the kitchen and wolf it down and it reminded me of a dog afraid someone would steal his food. It's honestly bad for digestion and your brain doesn't register that you're full so he'd eat twice as much as I would, and I am not a dainty eater.
My niece used to slurp drinks and make these exaggerated gulping sounds like she was saying the word gulp as swallowing and *that* annoyed the piss outta me, but otherwise chewing doesn't normally bother me. For me it's not the dry sounds but the wet sounds.
Most of the men in my life are or have been military. I think it's a basic training thing. I used to joke my husband, he just opens his throat and pours it in. I wonder if he really taste it? Lol
The eating fast thing is my boyfriend too. He literally eats so fast and I eat slow because I don't want indigestion. So, he'll literally finish his food in ten minutes while I'm still eating. It's because when he was in elementary school, he was forced to finish his food in about ten minutes or something. It's ridiculous. I'm a bird and I'm thankful for it, at least I don't get indigestion like he does.

I can totally relate to the husband that gets annoyed with the gulping, but for me it's chewing. I'm literally typing this from my backyard because my husband is eating cereal. I cannot be in the same room with him when he eats his cereal in the morning lmao!

The act of chewing doesn't bother me. It's chewing with your mouth open, especially in public. I at least have table manners and will chew with my mouth closed and make sure my mouth isn't full of food when I talk. But, my boyfriend doesn't get that and he will literally chew with his mouth open and then start talking. It's absolutely disgusting.

I cannot stand chewing, slurping, gulping, and heavy breathing. Also, I have pets so the noise they make when they groom themselves is on the list too 😖

When i had my daughter, my nephew was 15 at the time and asked if i could express some of my breast milk to put in his coffee 😂 he said it was the best coffee he had ever had at the time. Years later, i asked him if it was still the best coffee, and he started dry heaving 😂😂😂

At 15, my folks wouldn't even allow any of my siblings or me to even have coffee, which was fine because I didn't even like it unless it had milk (or creamer) and a lot of sugar/sweetener. I still can't stand it black without something in it. Now, I prefer mocha.

@@jkh427: I'm not much of a coffee drinker (I like hot chocolate, too) but I do have it every once in awhile, but I do not drink it black. I always need to have some sweetener in it to be able to drink it.

my grandma (70) was in walmart with me..(10yrs ago) she was in a wheel chair my mom was pushing her.. I started talking to her like a baby infront of people near the checkout lanes.. "did grandma go poopy?" pretty loudly.. and asking like she was a child.. lol. she was too busy laughing.. but my mom was embarrassed and yelling at me to shut up.. was good times lol. Always be remembered as someone i could watch Naked gun movies with and both crack up laughing.

The meal preparation reminds me of me asking my husband and son in law what they’d like for Christmas. It’s a “nothing “ got. My hubby and a shrug from my son n law. So … that’s exactly what they got last year. For my hubby I wrote a note with the word “Nix” which means nothing in German And for my son in law I made a coaster of resin. And I embedded a shruging smiley. And of course I filmed the opening of the presentations. It was a lot of fun

TMI: Breast milk is sweet but kind of watery (I drank a lot of water). Women farts are stinky BUT pregnancy farts are on a whole different level 🤢. My husband and I didn’t not share a bedroom both times I was pregnant (first the pregnancy snoring then the pregnancy gas). Rough times. And I’m not leaving a room to just pass gas (never did with any guy I dated and definitely don’t with my husband). If it stinks we can leave the room together 😇

Yeah that girl won't ever be in a long-lasting happy relationship until she realizes that mind reading is impossible. It is literally impossible and completely ridiculous and insane to expect your partner to be able to read your mind AND THEN GET UPSET WHEN THEY CAN'T. I don't know why it's such a common thing for people to assume. Magic doesn't exist, there's no such thing as magical powers, no one can magically read your mind. Always assume they can't, be honest and upfront with what you want. Otherwise you're going to destroy every relationship you get into and constantly feel resentful and upset. Just be honest and up front with what you want and how you feel.
She should have thanked him and have them to her work mates because most people don't do that
I agree. Personally, I hate surprises and don't like receiving gifts. (weird I know) The biggest reason why I hate receiving gifts is that I'm super picky and if I want or need something, I'll get it myself. People are NOT mind readers and most of the time, we don't want the same thing every time we get a gift so it's good to ask if you aren't sure.

i fell backwards few years ago, and i screamed for my bro many times.....he didin't respond or anything, and I know he can see or check on me thru his window. at the end, my dogs (may she rest in peace) who came at my first/second cry and sniffing me around, licking my head, putting her head on my body, then my neck. The second dog just follow her lead. The other 2 dogs just don't care.....sooo......yeah I think her husband 5 seconds is AWESOME

My husband literally celebrated when I farted in front of him the first time 😆 he said he had been holding his farts in for months. Now we've been married five years 😄 I've learned that if you can be comfortable around your partner with your farts then you can be comfortable around them with anything and it actually makes for a strong relationship, being able to be yourself like that.

It’s been my experience that men are VERY basic. Most will not assume anything or take “hints”. Just save yourself the time and straight up tell then what you need or want. Make a dang wishlist on your favorite store’s site and give him the username/password. They normally get more off the list than you expected. It’s already the right size and color.

Any woman that understands how straight forward men communicate is a boon. Breast milk tastes like the milk in the bottom of your cereal bowl after fruit loops. I used some in my coffee once when I was out of cream, i wouldn’t recommend it hahaha
My daughter and I had kids 3 months apart and had a freezer full of breast milk that lasted us about a year after we weaned them, we used it in their cereal. It’s liquid gold!

Oh I may have misunderstood, I took it as he asked her what she would like and she declined because "he shouldn't have to ask", but I'm super practical and ask people every year what they want. I come from a family of 16 including my mother though. I would hate to get something fir someone and have them hate it. Secretly or not.
I’m genuinely concerned about the cookies girl. That was handled poorly all around but the strictness of their diet just screams red flags to me. I hope they are doing ok.
The strictness of her diet - I wouldn't call that a red flag particularly. The fact that she got offended by him not respecting that is a red flag. There is an eating disorder called ARFID. With ARFID certain foods are safe and the rest are unsafe. Most people who have it are autistic. We simply do fine living on our limited diet. That said, if a guy sent me something that wasn't on my safe food list, I would thank him and then just share it with my friends or something. Especially that early on. There also could be a food addiction that she isn't mentioning. The cookies could be a trigger for her and cause her to binge. If that is the case, she should have let him know beyond I eat super healthy, this could be a bad trigger for me. Her post didn't seem to be an addiction though.
My entire family and anyone I date knows what my dietary limitations are and why I have them. I am also incredibly open about the fact that I do have a carb addiction. Beyond that I am open about the fact that I am autistic, because if they aren't going to take the time to research autism and ask me tons of questions to better understand me then I not going to date them. I don't want to date someone who listens to stereotypes and judges me. Although, my autism weeds those types out automatically because they typically don't like women who have higher IQs then they do. Where I lack in social quotient I make up for intellectual quotients.
Most, if not all, people with EDs have safe/unsafe foods, same with people with disordered eating. Not a red flag, but a reason to be concerned.

Because as all three of us on here mentioned restrictive diets or safe and unsafe foods are a form of disordered eating be it ARFID, anorexia, binge eating, or other similar EDs. I still think she overreacted to him not realizing that early on that she ate so restrictive of a diet.
