    Finally one of the thinking manufacturers of soldering equipment that used rotary regulators read encoders for handling, temperature and air. I don't know why manufacturers gave up rotating adjustments that work quickly in favor of clicking on buttons where this adjustment time is difficult. Kudos to Aixun for the rotary adjustment. I'm getting rid of those push button hotair stations and buying an Aixun.

    Looks to me those nozzles are intended to face down in the stand. That would make it easy to insert one into the handpiece single handed. Shame they didn't ship some angled nozzles.

    I purchased a JDI 863 from Ali. The issue is that I am in the US and max power I got out of it was about 450 watts. They did not make internal changes for 110v operation.

    • @davadoff
      @davadoff Před 2 měsíci +1

      Did you order a 110v version?
      You need to replace or modify the heater in the handle to a 120v one and it should work normally (assuming the internal wiring like shown in this video is not too thin).

    On most hot air stations, you switch the heating element from 220V to 120V and vice versa by wiring them in parallel or series.

    A[ways nice to see that all the hard work I put into getting equipment through the CE marking process, is not being copied by the overseas sellers.
    I'm surprised how many UK companies still chose to ignore the wrongly marked "ce" and pass it off as "CE", when will we see a UKAC clone marking.

    Nice little unit, but it could do with a few improvements mainly the things that you've mentioned. Such as, the short tube, and the lack of decent earthing. Overall though, it's a nice looking unit. One which I think Would fit well with my current equipment quite nicely. Thanks for sharing, Steve.

    That's a seriously half-baked UI and it really detracts from AiXun's brand. They seem to want to build a name, but aren't paying attention to the details. There's just no excuse for not grounding properly or using proper gauges when they've otherwise gone to the trouble of tidying the wiring and it would seem a lot higher quality if they quieted the blower as other brands do.
    This is disappointing for the price. While the handpiece and stand are good enough, the base station and UI are just unfinished and bad; good intentions, poorly executed.
