I like how thorough the review was. I was looking for an inexpensive fish finder to put onto my Intex Excursion 5. Used the link to buy. Hopefully it’ll assist with my small pond/quick fishing trips
Great review, I want one now! Can't afford a lot of fishin' gear these days the way prices have skyrocketed, but at least this seems to be worthwhile. I don't need anything more than what this "Lucky" finder offers!

Thanks for the great info, Your recent vidoes have helped me shorten the learning curve of using a fish finder, there is still a lot to figure out but you’re a great resource, thanks. I was wondering what type of bait you where using? I have used liver shrimp etc but never got consistant results.
Thanks for the comment. Depends on what species I am targeting. If I’m going for catfish I will use night crawlers, minnows, or bluegill. I also like to use 1/4 oz casting spoons for catfish. For gar I am exclusively using minnows and the occasional rooster tail/flutter spoon. For bass I like to use soft plastics specifically the yum swimming dinger and I will rig it like a swim bait and just fish it versatile. If I’m going for white bass/crappie I almost exclusively use rooster tails. In all honesty the choice in bait/lures isn’t as important as you would think. As long as you find actively feeding fish you can catch them. The trick is finding active fish.
First of your videos i have watched. I am looking into fish finders for my inflatable boat. I appreciate your review so i subscribed and want to use your link so you make a dime or two commision since i would not otherwise have bought this product. Thing is i cant find where this link is. I youtube on a phone not a computer if that matters.
The striker 4 is a good unit as well but it definitely has its limitations. I can definitely see the value from someone who was primarily shore fishing to have a portable sonar unit to assist them with determining depth and bottom composition.
That is currently not possible to do with any fish finder (other than the ones with Forward facing sonar which are thousands of dollars). You also cannot accurately determine the depth of the fish as the depth shown on the screen is the distance the object is from the transducer and because you are using such a wide sonar cone, the depth shown will almost always be deeper than the fish is actuality. There is a lot of misunderstanding about fish finders, the value that this one has is that it provides you the ability to see the depth of the water and can somewhat accurately determine bottom composition and the presence of fish. That information alone is very useful even though you don't get the whole picture its better than nothing.
One major issue with that product is that the screen isn’t waterproof so you need to protect it in wet conditions; That’s how mine died😕. Hey but thanks for the vid! Very useful validation test with your other one!
Thanks for the comment. Yes I have experienced some issues where the fish finder unit incorrectly identifies fish where there are none. I believe this might be due to the wide cone angle that it is using and the inability to change the gain can cause the unit to misidentify vegetation and rocks as fish. I would only trust the unit seeing fish that are suspended in the middle of the water column versus right on the bottom.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I understand your concern. Just to clarify, yes, I am an affiliate for some products I review, and I do earn a commission if someone makes a purchase through my links. However, I want to assure you that my primary goal is to provide honest and unbiased reviews. I only recommend products that I genuinely believe in and think can add value to my audience. Transparency is crucial to me, and I appreciate your feedback.
@@FishOclock89 No problem! I used to work at a place where I got commission too. A great way to combat distrust in that area is to recommend something that is a better product but you wouldn't make money on as well. That way it feels like people have options; they will probably still go for the cheaper thing you're recommending. But it does show that you will recommend better products but have the budget ones that pass. 😉 Sales
@@alexsrap9109I went down there not too long ago when there was flooding to see the water. What do you catch there? Only thing I have ever caught is white bass there.
Remember, Temu is out of China. So, everything has to go through customs before entering the US. I have ordered a lot of stuff from Temu and I have never had a problem with anything that I have bought from Temu. I just saw the video. Right now, I am in a rehab center because I had a ladder slip on me. I fell 10 ft and broke my heal bone in half. I have a good picture of it. I have not walked for 4 months because of the fall. I am thinking about fishing and what I can do once I get out of the rehab center that will be awhile. Fishing is something I want to go and do again. I enjoy fishing. I go to the same lake every time because I have always caught fish except for 1 time. And this is over 20 years. Last year I took my best friends kids fishing and they have said that they want me to take them fishing again they had so much fun. It was a man's day out and the kids were acting more like a man than I was. lol We had fun. Even though this video was posted like 5 months ago because I have been in a rehab center for 4 months and have not been able to walk would you consider either selecting me for the give a way or ordering a new fish finder and having it mailed to me because I broke my foot and cannot walk yet? If you saw the x ray you will see that the heal bone is in 2 pieces and was snapped in half completely. Thank you, Bill Hull
I was believeing it all until i saw the affiliate link. Clearly you are going to say it's great to get people to buy via the link. Unbiased reviews are completely pointless.
I understand your point. I am not really trying to sell you something, but if you choose to buy it the affiliate link gives me a small commission. The portable depth finder does work, I am an experienced fisherman and was able to use it to determine bottom composition, depth, and even fish in some circumstances. If you want something a bit nicer with a better readout you can go with a garmin or lowrance unit. It’s not a bad buy but it may not be for everyone.
Nice to see someone compare it with another fish finder. Nice job .thank you
It was good to see the comparison to the Garmin. I am thinking about getting the Lucky fish finder for my kayak.
I was wondering if this unit was worth buying. Thanks for reviewing it for me. Good job.
exactly what I needed to see! thank you for the review!
I'm looking to get one after seeing your positive reviews.
My girlfriend bought me this for my birthday last year and it works great for kayak fishing.

I bought one for my fishing kayak. Put it to the test when it gets a bit warmer this spring. Thanks for doing the review.

Could you tell me if it really reaches 100 meters deep (3937inch) tank's!

Thanks for that review
That would work great on bridges and jettys
How was your fishing experience in weeds? Could it still detect fish? Doe transducer get confused in a jungle of weeds @ 1ft depth?
I used it today it really works
liked the simplicity
I have one and itw pretty accurate fishishing from Piers

Have a garmin striker plus 4 but I think I will get this one too because it is so cheap and runs on AA batteries

How do you determine the direction of the fish with the fish finder

But does it float? Or will it sink?
It will sink and it’s not waterproof either. I think someone else commented that they ruined theirs by getting it wet.
