#AManCalledOtto - Krátké a kreslené filmy
That movie actually looks good. I feel bad I missed it in theaters.
Update. I went and watched it. Wasn't for me.
Based.

I'm his age and it's weird to age, I mean your older years, it's hard not to feel insignificant, time rolls on and the changes in society you notice more, now that I'm old I can see how cranky old people can become, the melancholy turns a bit jaded, it's a natural process but I find it awkward but I'll keep trying to be kind and die in peace, good luck.
I find your comment to be so insightful. I'm a young adult who constantly wonders about the inner workings of the older generation's mind. I want to know how boomers/ gen x who used to be the "cool rebels" became what they are today.
But reading your comment provides some much needed insight there, so I thank you for sharing. It must be hard to walk around a seemingly alien world that only has whispers of the society you grew up in. I commend you for not only being self aware enough to recognize this, but wise enough to realize it's inevitable to feel like a "grumpy old person" and you just have to work through it.
I was a post 9-11 baby, I can't imagine what it must've been like going through so many life changing events as a young person, and now that you're older you have the internet and the complicated mess that comes with it. I don't remember a world without computers and calculators in my pocket and CZcams. You do, though. You had to adapt to this lifestyle that I was born into.
And someday, when I'm (hopefully) old and grey, my grandkids will be doing something that I just don't understand and I'm going to say the exact same thing you said. It's a little sad, but also beautiful in a way.
@@lovelycoccinelle That was really well thought-out and articulated. As another young adult, I sometimes find myself falling into the hubris of thinking I'd be the one to adapt to the changes that happen during my lifetime. I think I'll end up putting in a decent effort, but the reality is more likely that it'll get more and more difficult not only as the changes accumulate but as I inevitably start to lose neuroplasticity someday. This struggle is probably pretty universal, and we should always remember to reserve some patience and compassion for people who are trying their best.
Jesus you're a sweet decent person with significant self awareness. As someone who's getting older but probably a decade or so off from you if I could guess, I wish you the best my friend. There's truly worthless insignificant wastes of life and downright demons in this world. Find your peace and stay away from the vortex of chaos that this world is becoming. It's not you, it's them, truly. God bless my friend.
It`s not old age vs young age, its about morals vs no morals, order vs chaos, faith vs disbelief. These are the last days.
Always wondered that I always say I will be kind when I'm old but ik time can beat us up and you don't feel the same energy as I am right now and maybe thats why people become cranky can't blame them but hopefully I can make it to old age 🙏🙏
“And I don’t mean that racially” is an excellent line
This is how modern cinema should be
U R Woke in a dream.
@@charleskuchenbrod8400 Probably
I can tell your old cuz you said cinema
@@ElderBishopPastorReverendOssie why?
Yes 61 y 🙁 But I m Belgian that’s the problem…
That moment the girl asks if he wants another foot of rope 🤣🤣
Lol.
That was the funniest thing I’ve ever seen
Right, she is smarter than he is. The store sells rope by the yard only. The solution to the problem is to buy another foot. Lets say that the problem is 2+2=?. I say "2+2=4" and you respond with "no, 9-3=6". Your solution is correct for a different problem. That isn't the problem we are trying to solve.
then he would be getting 6 foot paying for 7 there not gonna give it for free@@ToxicGamer86454
@@ToxicGamer86454I don’t want 6 feet of rope. Only charge me for what I want.
What a great movie…it touched me ….and Tom did as usual an excellent job
Not bad for a child diddler…..
As I watched both movies, I can say both Ove & Otto are nice!!
Tom Hanks the best
A man called Ove, Swedish movie was great. I hope Hanks does it well.
Just the fact they came up with a new story for an old concept it will be a success!!
Nothing new with this
I love how he’s the residential rules enforcer
I love this movie. Not a big fan of Hanks but this tripped my switch
The Swedish version, "A man called Ove" (En Man Som Heter Ove), was touching, thoughtful and an excellent portrayal of loneliness, redemption kindness. Why some Hollywood folks think they can improve on that is beyond me. And with Hanks of all people.
But he did an excellent job of it.
@@lyndasmith3657 He did alright. But alot was lost in translation. The Swedish version is about politics, class struggle and the shift from industrial Sweden to Instagram Sweden. My biggest complaint is the flashbacks. Those are the best part of the Swedish version. I dont think Truman is convincing, he doesnt seem to have the same personality as old Otto.
@@olebaltasar6263 I think I will watch the Swedish version so that I can see what you mean. Thank you.
@@lyndasmith3657 It's well worth it! Some of the aspects are very subtle but I think it has a bit more depth to it. Rolf Lassgård is very good. Hanks is good but Lassgård is convincing as an old man who doesn't feel like he has a place anymore. He wears alot of make up for the right old grumpy man look.
@@lyndasmith3657 Have to agree with that, but want to watch the original Swedish version too, as rarely does Hollywood do a recent remake of foreign language works.
2:36 literally my life look... 🤣🤣
Brilliant
Taylor (assistant manager) smashed this scene.
I would never get over this scene lmao 🤣 Tom wanted to choke that girl
Otto
Tomotto
Tom Hanks is the best actor hands down
He’s also a disgusting child diddler
Do you suppose the Ups driver is a cast away reference
It looks an interesting movie based on the extended preview.
Oh yeah. Looks like a blast!
I noticed that when that guy cut the cake in middle of the face that everyone hates otto
I saw the original movie, subtitles and all. Wish they did not make an English version as the original was superb.
Fully agrees Ove is one of the best foreign movies out there, but no we have to make it american smh 😢
Best movie tom hanks is👍👍👍
Forrest Gump
2:35 was at that moment he decided to purge that store
What kind of sociopath cuts a cake right down the center?!
Finally here and recently out of school again and my thoughts here is I'm not sure if this movie is entertaining. I guess I kind of feel sad and embarrassed becuz I've experienced something similar within this general life customer service scene. I guess for me I see this movie as a general life situationship within a workplace
American 🇺🇸 steel plant ⁉️
That is very rare, must be near last one

Otto is my role model
That movie teaches you Mind your own damn Business or you will end Up a grumpy old man.
Typical Swedish mentality, “You are not an idiot.” The movie is soft and hard hearted at same time, an unusual combination and the mentality of the final scene is all about the car!?!?
just like all other employee parties the after party is when the other employee isnt there....
I understand the man - and see that he goes too far. Having become ‘an old guy’, I find it can be fun to play curmudgeon. Those punksters skateboarding on the town hall steps,… “Well, where are your knee pads and steel-toed shoes?” They had their phone/cameras ready for me every time.
One big difference - as a loner, I would take that cat in immediately. I must own this film.
Original movie is Called Man Calle OVE
Otto.. the stores sells yards! NOT feet! If you would have let the employee cut it for you you wouldn’t have been charged for 6 feet!
did you want another feet of rope?
famous last words
He could just pay for 6ft, and then have the cashier give him back 33 cents, lol
Dude have you never worked retail before? You can't do that it would unbalance your till

Based on the book "A Man Called Ove" by Fredrik Backman. Yes, there was a Swedish film based on the book as well, and it's quite good, but it's not as good as the book.
This is what it's like to live in an HOA
Everybody has to play by Otto's rules. Otto should think it's fair to play by rules. Hardware store has rules. Suck it up Otto.
The white truck.....anybody get the reference???......wilson
Theres a few references to castaways in this movie.
How about the sign that reads Dye$merica 'Die Merica'. Horrid modern suburbian decay compared to the cities of 100 years ago
A Man Called Otto began life as A Man Called Ove, a Swedish novel by Fredrik Backman published in 2012 that was later adapted into a 2015 film of the same name directed by Hannes Holm
Talk about fed up with life.
He tries to kill himself I believe three different times you’re damn right he was fed up with life.
0:42 - 0:43 You think I don't know how to cut a rope?
"And I don't mean that racially" hahahaha
I feel so bad for the busy beaver employees… :(
Isn't he the Forest gump
So sad he can't make scond part or third
Not to jump to any conclusions but this looks like a watery imitation of "About Schmidt"
Similar storyline as Gran Torino. Looks good, though.
2 yards equals 6 feet, and the price is $0.99 a yard, or 3 feet. That makes $1.98 for 2 yards. It would have been easy enough to ring up a manual price for the rope by dividing 1.98 by 6 and multiplying that answer by 5 to come up with the actual price of $1.65.
They have calculators for a reason.
If eggs are $10/dozen, and I grab 6, does that mean I only pay $5?
@Tao Liu Eggs are not rope, and at most hardware and crafts in the US, fabricated items such as rope, cloth, chain links, and wire are sold by the measurement, not by a set length.
@@Avis_Victoriae It's the same exact concept. Eggs are sold by the dozen, rope is sold by the yard. Using your logic, he can go down to eighths of an inch.
@Tao Liu Precisely. Don't blame me. it's not my logic. It is literally how hardware and crafts stores work in the US.
They'd look at me funny, but if I walked into my local crafts store, I could buy an 1/8" length of paracord and a 1/2" of silk from a whole bolt if I so choose.
Cash registers have the prices of each item precalculated, and all the cashier has to do is measure the 1/8 inch piece of paracord I wanted and punch the measurement into the register. The register would do the rest for them.
@@Avis_Victoriae Uh, no its not. Home Depot sells rope by the foot, they will not divide down less than a foot.
Hello, I am Wilson, the manager. Is there a problem?
9:26 9:43
i have NEVER wanted to see this movie until I saw the Rope Scene Trailer and said. "CHET DATZ ME IN A WHITE BODY IN 2023"
This movie is so Pittsburgh. Well, the old better Pittsburgh
The first Tom Hanks movie in history that I didn't like. A grumpy old man who patrols the block to make sure everyone is following the rules, mad at the world, even hates the cat.
So, you got the point of the movie.
Captain John h Miller
Why did the store overcharge him? Who is wrong in this scenario?
He wanted to buy 5 feet of rope. The casheir said we dont sell by the foot but its .99 cents a yard or 3 feet. Since he got more than 1 yard he was wrung up for 2 but we had 1ft less than 2.
So otto was arguing it should be .33 cents less. Because he shouldnt have to pay for a ft he didnt buy.
If the store sells it by the yard you could argue that the store is right.
You cant get a fountain drink cup at a store and fill it up and only pay for half. It dont work like that. The cashier was saying theres not a way for him to ring it up by the foot. But theres usually a way to manually overide prices but sometimes a manager has to do that.
Its wrong hes paying for something he didnt get but thats how its sold. If the casheir couldnt override it id say the store is in the right. I can see an argument for both sides. So what do you think?
Its like buying a 12 pack of sodas. And opening it up and taking 3 out because you only want 9. But those arent for individual sale. You cant buy a 9 pack.
It is a moquery of the original movie. I saw the preview i will not go to a theater to see that thing.
Let me guess. He finds love and then becomes a nice person
In a way..
Not quite. You'll be surprised how it ends.
not really ...its worth a watch.
He does, just not in the way you think
He was technically was a nice person. Yes, he came off as rude and grumpy on the outside. But you still get the vibe that he has a kind heart on the inside
This is dark comedy. I would prefer it to not beso dark…..it’s depressing. Great movie though!
Frik it's in English this time utube totally f*,kd it up
Did you want an extra foot of rope
And that was how the bloody home depot massacre started
Tom Hanks hasn't made a good movie since Castaway.
Get off my lawn
He lost character big time...hehe
ok who on earth exercises like those 2 men ?...really ?......not buying that
You'd be surprised...
Otto the karen
What kind of cake makes that awful sound when cut into?
Why people don't just use meters and centimeters instead of foot and leg.
Well that was 5 minute of my life wasted.
Well? I would love to watch... However, just the thought that Hanks was on Epstein's list makes me want to throw up.
You actually believe that nonsense? It’s been debunked multiple times and yet people still choose to believe it! SMH.
@@gailwebb9619 No it hasn't. Qanon has. Pizzagate has. Not Epstein. You're equating every conspiracy theories with factual events. Is it outlandish? Sure...but it doesn't make it not real.
How did he cut 3 ft of rope and end up with 5 ft of rope and get charged for 6 ft of rope?
Because they charge by the yard, and not by the foot.
@@taoliu3949 watch again carefully, he only measured out 1 yard not 1.66yards
@@silo3com And watch carefully, there was a cut, meaning you don't know what happened in between cuts.
Was this a low budget bit of nonsense? The cgi cat looks ridiculous.
