    toward the end of the game POch realized Palmer had become weak on the wing so he brought in MUdryk to play 11 and shifted Sterling to 7 so that both wings would have fast guys. But it works even better with Silva on the flank with Grealish, it becomes defensive so much stronger because they defend relentless as well. And they are stronger on the ball then foden en Goku, or whats his name..But Chelsea was very good on the ball and could play themselves out of tricky situations, and that is where tactics always falls short or comes to life; I think the tactics of Pep are genious, but Chelsea played very well and had a decent tactic.

    Insane game one of the greatest of all time
    Both teams playing all in to win, fair result the draw
    The rates of managers is no sense sorry, because man city is the best team itw the standards are way more demanding and every game the same
    Pep is the goat for a reason and according to your analysis even in the derbi game getting a poor mark

      He covered most of what they did and Chelsea did to. Only things not really covered were the changes when palmer moved to LCM and mudryk played LW Rodri getting dragged wide more often due to lack of defensive support from the forwards and Gallagher receiving centrally resulting in our 3rd goal. And then the dynamic of Sterling gusto RHS stretching the back line (Gvardiol hesitating wether to follow gusto wider or stay central) with the Jackson of the ball run to create space for Broja to exploit and he receives in the box manipulates the ball well and wins the pen.

  • @louisbinns1144
    @louisbinns1144 Před 5 měsíci +34

    Tactical changes by both sides throughout the second half were a big factor why the game remained so open throughout the full 90.
    Man City tended to depart slightly from their main plan - to have each member of the pivot players in the 442 structure to drop and gain ground depending on the position of the ball, and certain key players such as Enzo, Silva and James, by becoming far more man-oriented, and trying to lure Chelsea to build into areas between the lines through the wide zones, where they could be caught on the ball.
    Chelsea adapted pretty early, though, making the surprise tactical substitution of Enzo for Mudryk, and moving Gallagher from the RW/RM spot to a double pivot alongside Caicedo. Sterling then played RW, Mudryk LW, while Palmer was central again, operating as a link between Jackson and Midfield. They then began to launch longer and look to take on the full backs directly 1v1, while when out of possession, they were very narrow, with Palmer tight to Rodri, and looking to apply pressure on the ball when it was moved wide, rather than more centrally.
    The game became very chaotic at this stage, especially as Chelsea's appetite for taking risks in possession was great, and I think this more than anything will concern Guardiola. He was able to introduce Grealish and exert more control on the match in possession, but when the ball was lost, he wasn't able to manage the game, and both sides were still trading multiple chances up to the last minute.

    This match was more of Man City players being sloppy and Off than Chelsea being brilliant. Just look at Diaz and Gvardiol for that Chelsea 2nd goal.
