    Two videos in one day?! After Christof not being in this morning’s video this was an unexpected surprise. As a gear head, I appreciate these product reviews

    Very high tech. 50 years ago I was skiing some of the wilderness peaks around Steamboat Springs Colo with my friends. We were using wooden cross country skis, so we carried aluminum spare tips that doubled as shovels. Our secret safety weapon was to always leave the keys to my old Willies in the Jeep so if anyone survived an avalanche they could drive home and tell the story.

    Could you expand this video a bit? The biggest problem with ski backpack reviews (especially airbag ones) is seeing how they work when you have them crammed full.
    Can you get your puffy jacket or thermos out without everything else falling out? Can you put goggles in their pocket if the rest of the pack is full? Can you fit a taller shovel handle and probe, even when the pack is full?
    So what I would love to see is a backpack packed full, then showing taking stuff in and out.

    Mammut UL bags are the lightest. Well they used to be a few years ago when I was researching.

      I own the UL 30L and that pack can do anything from resort days to multi-day skitouring and that with only 2060gr

      @@living.thealps yeah that's what I had.

      @@living.thealps I have that pack too. The weight in the US is higher for the Mammut packs though, because we can not use the carbon cartridge. Instead there is a refillable aluminum cartridge. Not only is this heavier, it also takes up a fair bit more space. If you add a helmet carry to be more apples to apples with the BD pack, I think they come out pretty close.

    The cheapest I've seen the cartridges in 2022 is $70 on Moosejaw, I'll keep looking!

    Great vid - are they M-Free 108s in the background…? Curious to know what bindings you’ve got on them?

    Any thoughts on the SCOTT Patrol E1 30 Airbag Pack? Capacitor system is presumably lighter and more straight forward for air travel.

    • @tjb8841
      @tjb8841 Před 3 lety +2

      Capacitors are lighter than batteries, not lighter than other systems. BD makes bags with the E1 system too. Still, the capacitor packs are absolutely the best for air travel (no restrictions).

    Pretty extra mediocre review ... good work!
