I like how both endings have a selfish and selfless aspect to them. Smashing the lightbulb means Niko can see his family again, but you selfishly condemn multiple people to life of darkness. Restoring the light selflessly helps everyone, but unfairly punishes Niko and means he’s stuck there forever. Solstice path definitely feels weaker in that regard since it lacks the realism of the first run’s choice. There can be no compromises, whereas Solstice almost is the compromise you were never given. Me and my bro chose to smash the bulb at the end just because we felt Niko didn’t deserve any of this and just needed to be happy and with his family again. Honestly OneShot is the game Undertale WISHES it could be. I cared far more about deciding the fate of the people and guiding Niko to the end than I did about anything when playing Undertale. Now, guy who told Pyro to play OneShot for like 2 years: could you get him to play OFF now lol

Deltarune has been really good though, Toby’s hiring a team was good for development too and it’s been playing really well

Oh my god, this is the game that actually made me cry when I got to the true ending. The emotional impact it can have on you and the game design is just incredible! Edit: oh no, I just spoiled that there's a true ending. Alright, guess now we'll have to see him do a part 2 where he does the Solstice update.
This game made me cry too which I commend it for because it managed to get this cold heart invested in Niko's relationship with the player and his struggles dealing with the world around him keeping him from his peaceful comfortable life

Note: the one shot system where failimg to beat the game in one sitting (minus forced shutdowns like beds) resulted in the game becoming unplayable (without tampering with game files) was a feature only present in the origjnal freeware game. The new releases (the one you are playing, and world machine edition) do not include this restriction.
