In 1970, I use to play around the breaker.and all over Ashley. It was still in operation then.Every now and then,a worker would give me a quarter so I could go to the store and buy lots of goodies. I was only 6, but I had a lot of freedom because my mother was always busy screwing around with men. No regrets here I was able to see and do a lot of things that people my age now don’t know existed. There was also a big Mine something way in the back of were Cooney trailer park is now,it overlooked like the Grand Canyon to me then. Also I found out year’s later, that I went to the same school as the professor from Gilligan,s island.lol. The red brick school there on the corner at the light. It’s torn down now. I believe the little blue pool is still there.it was 1969 my first year of kindergarten, and I swear I remember that first morning my mother dropped me off as if it was a minute ago. I was was scared shitless. I remember vividly everything from then, maybe it’s the 3 concussions I had in 71,72 lol. Still have hair and no gray, and would you believe I still get carded every now and then? One more thing, my wife and I explored every inch of the breaker before it was torn down. It was awesome!
