    Wish you had taken the neck off as I'm trying to fix the buttons, there are two small metal shaped rods that have come loose at the top and don't know what their are for or what they do

    There's corossion in the battery terminal. I bought one off of eBay for cheap and I saw that there was corossion on the terminal, I figured that would be the only major issue with it. I never repaired one, but I need to take it apart so that I don't get any white vinegar in the green board. Hopefully this gives me an idea of what to do. I know you didn't mess with the battery slot, but there aren't alot of videos that demonstrate how to take these apart. Fingers crossed that I can get it to work

      Hi I’ve got the same issue did you have any luck?

    • @jessea4438
      @jessea4438 Před rokem +1

      @jamescampbell9943 it's been a while since I've done it, but long story short: it turns out that the terminal wasn't even attached. I had a loose spring in the battery compartment along with the corrosion. I ended up cleaning off the corrosion with the green board set aside. As far as the terminal goes, it doesn't have to be attached. The battery just needs to make contact, so I shoved the loose spring under the battery and closed the lid before it could potentially pop out. It ended up working once I reassembled everything.

    I have repeatedly had to super glue the side teeth to the strum bar on the inside. I find I'm heavy handed playing lol and break the plastic strum bar. It's easy enough to glue with steady hands. Also I replaced the sponge pad under the teeth by the sensors as they get worn and the pads are what give the strum its smooth feel. All in all its worth learning to fix as these guitars are getting rare. Thank you for this video.

    Have you ever opened the rock band KEYTAR keyboard? It has a mod button and a pitch bend that will only work when holding down the mod button, which is really hard to do. I would like to find a way to permanently keep the button pressed down. Any ideas? Thanks.

    • @R_T_Ralph

      I have no idea if it is possible. Knowing the history with the wireless guitars, they would not take a standard USB cable due to copyright issues, but these cant be much different designed from the old PS2 guitars, so i would say its possible.

    Do you know how one would go about tightening the whammy bar? Not the bounce, but the spin. Mine springs back just fine, but the bar wont stay in position cause it's really loose. So it can swing a full 360 with the flick of a finger.

    Sounds weird I know. The thing is I have a shiny rb4 guitar for ps4, and a really old rb1 guitar for ps3. I’d love to use the new one in my ps3 (I’ve got lots of dlc) and in clone hero. But it doesn’t work in ps3. Would I’d be able to sacrifice the old one and put the internals in the new one so it essentially becomes a rb1 in the body of a rb4?

    Hi, I know it’s been a long time, but do you think it may be possible to replace the parts internal of the Xbox Madcatz Fender replica with the parts of this PS3 Stratocaster guitar, so the wooden replica could be played on PS3?

    • @R_T_Ralph
      @R_T_Ralph  Před 4 lety +1

      Without the xbox guitar, i would not know, however these will all have been made in the same factory, but changed the buttons and switches.
      I would say it should be possible to change the internals, i really cant see why they would make them majorly differently between consoles.

      I've scoured the internet for guitars and the games a few times since I got back into the games 2 years ago now. Rock Band guitars aren't considered as good as Guitar Hero guitars, mainly cus of the mushy strumbar, but if it's wired then IMO that overshadows the mushy strumbar since it's just plug and play on PC and you don't have to worry about batteries. A good price would be around $35 - $45. If the drums are RB1 drums then I'd say around $50 - $60 cus RB1 drums are actually considered the worst ones, and they don't have the ports for the cymbals that came out later. The mic is just a cheap usb mic, so probably around $15 - $25. The games are actually pretty cheap to find sometimes too. I found a copy of GH2 for $3 and a copy of RB2 for $10, so I wouldn't price those very high. $5 - $15 would be around where I'd probably price them, maybe $20 depending on the game. Hope this all helps.
