- I show vinyl grails in my collection from Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Ozzy Osborne, Paul McCartney, Miles Davis, Bob Dylan, Kiss, Kings of Leon and more.
Hey Melinda. Cindy has a great channel! The VC is great, isn't it?! I'm waiting to obtain my dad's Led Zep records, which are just sitting there collecting dust (can you see my eyes rolling)?! Haha. Love seeing those Stones 45s! I request a tour of where you store your records or if you have a record room! Solid vinyl here! Later!
I actually have 3 listening rooms in my house and I am currently having some custom cabinets made to hold my records. A video will be done as soon as those are built in. If you look in the background of my video, you can see on both sides of me some bins. That is where they are for now. Hanna, just knowing that some Led Zeppelin records were mine for the taking and were ust sitting around would drive me mad. I hope you get them soon and can show them to us. Thanks for always watching and commenting. You are truly special.
You showed some awesome records. I have the very same japanese press of Led Zeppelin II and the same poster! It does sound great. You probably know I have cancer. I've been fighting it. I still try to do videos. Today was a good day. If tomorrow is good, I will try to do another one. I have a box of nice 45's but I never listen to them. Great video. Really enjoyed it. Bill Young
I'm so sorry Bill. I have seen some of your videos so I did know that. I hope you continue to feel better and I see a video soon. My daughter is doing well but I'm nervous at every doctor appointment. Cancer is awful.
Your collection is beautiful. Covers many genres Iove. It truly is a joy to watch you talk about music.
Wonderful presentation. Thank You!
How nice of you to say! Thank you!
I really loved that white album portraits poster. Never seen that before. Awesome!!! Looking forward to your Beatles collection video.
Thank you very much. 😊
I've SOOO been into Japanese Pressing and Mofi pressings over the past year or so....so you KNOW this video just has me drooling!! Great stuff!
First off, I still really want to work out a deal for that Bad Company Holy Water album we talked about. It is high on my want list. Secondly, I am always drooling over your records too. You have Japanese pressings of Billy Squire In the Dark and Kiss Dynasty. Those are Killers! Thanks and I hope we can make a deal!
Some really nice records! I bet they all sound great too ;)
Thumbs Up!
Hey Melinda. Awesomeness collection of records. Fantastic Japanese pressings they are so unique with there records. Great vid Melinda, keep em coming.👍
Thank you so much! That is so cool of you to say!😄
Nice pick ups. Also, I like this camera angle. Very open and inviting. I feel like I'm in your home having a conversation about music.
Thanks so much for your input. Anyhoozle, thanks so much for watching. You are so much fun!
Hi Melinda - What good luck on Zep III! That Beatles box set sounds awesome. Cool Opryland story. I went there in the summer between junior/senior years of high school with high school newspaper team. I missed your intro video (I guess I could find it now) so thanks for the biographical info and I'm glad you all came through ok. I'm a big KOL fan. That's an awesome Led Zeppelin poster - I've never seen it before. That's a pretty incredible stack of records. Rock on Melinda!
I love showing records but I also love telling people why they are so special to me. Thank you so much for your kind comments. I really appreciate it.
Love the Zeppelin/picture sleeve and Miles. A lot of quality stuff there. Enjoyed! Andre’
Thank you Andre'. I hope you are doing good.
Nice video! Thanks for your recommendation of Take It Away. Found it and ordered it.
I will almost always recommend Paul McCartney.
Hi Melinda- the blue, brown and white colour tones of you and your room are quite lovely to see... Very pleasing and gentle on the eye. You showed some lovely records too(!) I love your personal touch with shout outs to your niece and family. Beautiful. I trust your family are well and will know good health and peace in the future. Alan
Thank you for the wonderful compliments and yes, we are all good and healthy. My niece and daughter are vinyl lovers too so they watch when they can. Have a great night!
Some great finds there!
Thank you!
Great to be reminded of Suze Rotolo when playing Freewheeling. One of my favorite album covers and and I'm glad she is there to be remembered. Saw Dylan at the Berkeley Forum with my daughter as my birthday gift. Was like being in heaven.
You are a natural. Great videos. Easy on the eyes too.
Greg Benefield Calm down Romeo....
Thank you!
Hi Melinda! I'm going to have to check those two channels out. Awesome pickups you've scored as well!
Thank you. Please check out those channels. All three are really amazing people. Chris Has The Spins
Mamabear Vinyl and Various Vinyl. Take care!
Wow, a lot of heavy hitters here Melinda. I'm sensing your collection goes pretty deep, and is obviously varied from what you show here :) Those JP presses are things of beauty, and the beatles box has to be a real rarity. I love 'Take It Away' as well, I guess I was a lot more fortunate as I equate it with holidays as a kid. Your mum did an amazing job, love how that's a great memory for you. Beautiful copy of Silent Way. Impressive Anthology promo, never knew that existed. Lovely to hear all the channel shouts and to your family too. You're all heart! Thanks for the video, cheers- Dean
Thank you Dean. You are so sweet. My mom was incredible and I had such a great childhood. I love my collection but I know you have killer stuff and there are so many in the VC that blow mine out of the water. Thanks so much for your comments. So nice.
Love your videos.
Thank you!
Great share there Melinda quite a variety as always,I have a copy of that paint it black single too sounds great and one of their best in my opinion. That Beatles white album is an outstanding addition. Have a great day.
I do like alot of different kinds of music but classic rock has my heart. Lol. Paint It Black is a great song. I just listened to it tonight on Hot Rocks. That is the best greatest hits album ever in my opinion. Thank you for your comments. Have a great night!
Great collection of records. I wish I had that anthology promo. I really enjoyed this video. Have a great day.
Thank you so much and I hope you find an Anthology promo soon.
Or Steppenwolf 7?
@@toneyisaiah408 I don't have that one either. Lol. But the cover looks cool.
Really like that Take It Away colored vinyl. Great memory attached to it, too!
Thank you Joe!
Wow, that Paul McCartney album looks great, nice Japanese records. Great to hear your daughter is doing well!!!
Thank you for the compliments. Our daughter is great. We are so thankful.
Aw, I love you so much! ❤️
I watched this video last night in its entirety but didn't comment as I was watching on my TV. Sorry for not having any "live" comments but I really enjoyed it and liked seeing what you showed. Beautiful Japanese and MOFI pressings! I also have that same Kiss Killers record from Germany. Great stuff, Melinda! As you may have noticed another week went by that I didn't post a vid. I'm going to try and get one up by NEXT Monday or Tuesday. It's been hard for me lately as I don't want to give up any music listening or movie watching time to make a video- I'm not feeling as motivated as I have in the past. I know I will eventually get to it though. :)
Thanks for watching Brett. I'm not gonna lie, I looked up your channel to make sure I didn't miss anything. Everyone needs time to enjoy the music so taking a break is understandable. But it would be sad if you stopped altogether. You are one of the few core people that I have watched every video, every week. I would miss you too much if you stopped. Enjoy your music, watch some movies but please come back asap!
Hi Melinda, great vid girly!! all of the Miles davis MoFi pressings are awesome, you can't go wrong with any of those if you decide to get more. the Lep II IS the best release and has always been my fav for sure. i'm going to eventually frame the poster out of my Japanesse pressing. peace! Jerry in Indiana
Hi Jerry from Indiana. I grew up in Indiana! I agree completely with the Miles Davis records. So good. You have the Japanese pressing of Led Zeppelin 2 as well? Cool. Thanks for commenting. Sorry it took a few days to see this. Have a great night.
Crazy cool albums. I have no Japanese pressings yet..great video. Bob D. Is in my top 5 solo acts. You got some really good stuff my friend. Peace.
Thank you Rod! 😄
Nice vinyl collection I like the Beatles
Thank you!
I’ve never seen the poster of the four portraits from the White album. So good to hear your daughter is doing great. God bless.
Thank you! All is well with my daughter and thank you so much for your kind words!
Hi Melinda, a very personable video . I’ve only recently listened to the white album Matt Hayes sent it to me as vclt and I really like it . Nice to see you listening to miles . Jazz I find is a bit intimidating as I’ve really no idea what to listen to first . Lastly so pleased to hear that your daughter is much better I can only imagine how stressful 2010 must have been for you and your family .. best wishes from the uk .. rob
Thank you Rob. My daughter is doing great. We were very fortunate to have the outcome we had. Very scary going through it though. That White album is great and I saw that video so I knew it was from Matt. He's super. If you ever want to know more about jazz go to the channel Tunes From the Mancave. Chris has a terrific video on tips to start a jazz collection. I have been following his advice and am so happy I did. Take care
Melinda, some really nice foreign pressing. I have that second Stones picture sleeve you showed, Paint It Black, but would like to find a copy of As Tears Go By. Great singles. Thanks, Chris
Paint It Black is a great one to have. They are never in good shape around here that is why I was so excited by it. As Tears Go By is a great song and I hope you find a copy soon. Take care.
Wow! Some super cool records Melinda. Japanese pressings of Zeppelin- very nice. And those Beatles. My dad would appreciate those. He is a huge Beatles fan. Really enjoyed the video. 👍😎
Thank you so much. I love Led Zeppelin and The Beatles. Great bands for sure. Take care!
Hi Melinda. Love your videos. Nice to see someone who obviously loves collecting quality vinyl records. So much now available after most thought vinyl was completely finished with the advent of cd's some years ago. There has always been a place for both formats, even cartridges. Just picked up a fairly limited double album Dylan pressing you might not be aware of. It's a live concert from a Sydney Stadium concert I actually attended on April 13 1966 and it's supposedly the only available complete concert recording from that historic world tour with 4/5 of The Band just after he started his "electric" career. Amazon had it and may still do, but it was a one-off pressing so supply may be running low.
Thanks for letting me know. I would love to have an album of a concert that I have been to. That must be incredibly cool. I hope it is wonderful. I will eventually need to work on my Dylan collection. It is a little weak. Take care.
Kisses from Brazil great work
Thank you!
Wow. The zep Japanese Press is awesome !!
Thank you Mike!😊
You are picking up some pretty cool vinyl
Wow. Thank you very much!😄
Very cool albums Melinda, particularly that No More Tears album. I think that might be my fave Ozzy song, and I hope that album is re-released soon on vinyl. I'll have to keep an eye out for that KISS Killers album, I used to have it on cassette and I forgot all about it. Seven inch records, I don't normally collect them either, yet somehow I keep buying them. So glad to hear your daughter is doing well now! Also, I think I saw your name make a cameo on the latest Vinyl 33 RPM episode by Frank on Sunday. Cheers, Joel
You did see my name on Channel 33RPM. I asked him a question about a month ago and had forgotten all about it. I was so surprised that they answered it. They are such a nice couple and I love that channel. It is so hard to resist cool 7" records isn't it? I don't see Kiss Killers on vinyl very often but if you do some digging, I'm sure you can get one. They aren't expensive. Let's hope for an Ozzy reissue soon. Take care and thanks for the comments!
Some amazing albums. I have that same Beatles box and absolutely love it. The Obi is a bit tattered, and the box lit had a split so I got it for a steal. The pressing in the the box sound amazing. I sold my Beatles Studio box a few years ago, because the Japanese box sounded so much better. The No More Tears disc is very cool. I was so happy when that Ozzy comp came out for the same reason...would love to have the NMT album on vinyl though...can't believe Ozzy has not repressed it. Love the Miles Davis Mofi pressings. I'm slowing grabbing them and love he way they sound. You showing In a Silent Way led me down a rabbit hole! I'll show what happened in my next video.
I can't wait to see what you got out of the rabbit hole. Please don't send me the bill. Lol. The box of my Beatles box set is not in the best condition. The obi is completely gone but all of the records were in great shape and I got it for cheap so I am happy.I don't understand why some artists don't reissue the albums people want. Ozzy and late Van Halen come to mind. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend.
Really cool Japan Led Zeppelin pressings
Thank you so much!😀
Very good records, I missed you, I hope see soon another video, I send you my like, greetings.
As always, I really appreciate hearing from you and your support. Have a great day.
Melinda Murphy thanks, you too.
Hi I noticed you mentioned Middle School, where I'm from Northumberland in the North East of England we have Middle Schools also. My son has just left Middle School and started High School, anyway I really enjoy your channel I'm pleased I found it, I love records so much and have done since I was little, I'm 48 now and still love playing them, love that Zeppelin poster : ) take care and thank you for your posts
Our middle school was 6th grade to 8th grade. I have some great memories from that time and I think the early 80's music was incredible. I still love vinyl too obviously. Lol. Thank you so much. Take care.
Hey melinda some really great vinyl there ive been thinking of collecting japanese pressings as they always look so cool and some have unique art work to them. Hope all is well 🙂 x
I grab the Japanese pressings when I can. They are not always easy to find. Let me know if you find some. I'm doing great and I hope you are too. Take care!
@@MelindaMurphy they arnt cheap either most of the time will definately let you know and glad youre ok im good too take care 🙂
Hi Melinda, I have never seen that poster before, nice score! Those Rolling Stones 7 inchers are awesome! Your Japanese pressings are really cool, I bet they *do* sound amazing. And so happy to hear your daughter is doing well. Great you're getting more into jazz too. It's very relaxing after a hard day. ~Nicola
I do enjoy curling up into my chair and listening to some jazz. Do you have a favorite jazz album that you recommend? Thanks also for your concern for our daughter. I really appreciate that.
@@MelindaMurphy sure, I think my most favorite jazz LP is by Oliver Nelson "Blues and the Abstract Truth." Highly recommended.
@@waxreliquary thank you!
@@MelindaMurphy you're very welcome, hope you like it too.
It's cool of you to mention other VC channels. I went to check them out. There are so many of us now. Hard to keep track but aways nice to find other channels out there. I use to have The Beatles white album but traded it. Wish I keep it now.
Thanks for checking out those channels. They are all great people. The more subscribers you have, the harder it is to watch them all. I appreciate that you took the time to watch mine. The white album is amazing. I hope you replaced it with something you like even more. Take care.
@@MelindaMurphy of course I'll watch yours. You have alot of cool stuff you show. Your very nice to people in your videos and I love the artwork you have on you walls in the background. You have a very beautiful house. It looks very homey. If thats a work. Do you do your own interior designing?
@@goldenvinylspin my daughter's boyfriend's mother is a designer. I ran my ideas past her and she helped me. Thanks for noticing! My favorite thing about my house is that it is cozy and comfortable.
Hey Melinda! Great channel, some great stuff here. Kinda just stumbled upon your channel. Been a vinyl fanatic for awhile now and have an obsession for Japanese pressings. Don’t mean to sound redundant but they really are superior.i have all the zeppelin pressings, not 1st pressings ,some 2nd most are 3rd pressings with the huge poster. Anyway, new subscriber here! Thanks for sharing. Joe
Thank you! I love Japanese pressings too. I love the Led Zeppelin ones. You can't beat the quality. The obi is really cool too. 😃
Oh Melinda, I love your Beatles collection...the white album, its my fave album
Thank you and the white album is pretty awesome!

Hi Melinda, I thoroughly enjoyed watching this video. That Beatles White Album portraits poster was not included with the White Album itself, but came as a bonus in the 1978 Beatles Collection blue box set. It also came with the 1978 UK blue box sets, but you don't see it around very often. You scored yourself a good deal there!
Thank you. I had never seen the portraits like that as a poster. I thought it was really unique too
The 50th anniversary White Album reissue has the portraits.
I have that Led Zeppelin II Japanese pressing. Mike at the Ingroove said it sounds horrible and to avoid it at all costs. I really disagree with him on this one. I couldn’t believe how much detail and force the drums and guitars had. It was a complete joy to listen to this album!
I think it sounds good as well. I don't have anything to compare it to like Mike does but I don't feel the need to upgrade this one. I'm totally happy. Take care.
If you can, get the mail-order japanese edition of Led Zeppelin II from 1978, which has the catalog code FCPA 1040. This one sounds even better than the regular japanese editions. Comes with no OBI.
Hi Melinda! Any day I get a new video from you is a GREAT day! Led Zeppelin III is my favorite Zep album! The Japanese pressings are superb! And congrats on the Japanese Zep II! I used to have that exact same pressing! I'd always head that that press of Zep II was rivaled only by the MOFI pressing. Well...I looked for one reasonably priced for years, and then finally won an auction for a copy for $40 on ebay one day! I could not believe my look!!! Much to my chagrin and bewilderment, it arrived to my house 3 days later. In a pizza box. Split straight in half. The seller had the audacity to blame the post office and begrudgingly gave me a refund. I still haven't gotten over the disappointment. Wow....I DEFINITELY approve of the Miles Davis MOFI copy of "In a Silent Way!" A truly great Miles record and the MOFI copies are simply phenomenal! So happy that youre enjoying some jazz! That poster of the 4 photos in your Japanese White Album is super cool!!! I think i'd have to have that framed! So awesome! The Bob Dylan MOFI's are of the highest quality. I used to own every single one of them. As always I thoroughly enjoyed this Melinda! I hope you have a great day!
Hi Chris. I would always figure a mofi pressing to be the very best available but Japanese pressings are great too and I think this one sounds wonderful. My heart hurts a little just hearing about your record in a pizza box story. I was sent a 13th Floor Elevators record that was broken even though the box it was sent in was in perfect condition. I have bought a few jazz albums and have been enjoying them including some Sonny Rollins that you recommended. I hope all is well and your daughter is over the flu. Thanks for watching. I always appreciate your input.
is the zep 3 the origional 70 press?
@@brucybabyy7355 I am pretty sure it is. Yes. It is definitely a very early copy.
Good choice on any LZ albums I’m a big fan of them , don’t have any Japanese vinyl but one day I will get some. Happy hunting.
Led Zeppelin is hard to find in Japanese pressings but not impossible. There are plenty out there. I hope you find all of the ones you want. Thank you and have a great night.
The turquoise and green Atlantic label was the older style label from the 60's, before the green/orange Atlantic that is better known. I have a few albums with the older label. Nice MoFi of Freewheelin'. I just showed my mono reissue in my newest video. Great album. Nice Stones 45s. Dang, MoFi Miles. I love that album. Seen it around the VC a lot. Love the Zeppelin, of course. Great video as always Melinda!
I just watched your video and saw all your great finds. I would love to have Blonde on Blonde. But RSD is almost here and other purchases will have to wait. Thanks Jeff for watching.
Hi, you have quite an eclectic collection. I really liked all of the records you showed in this video, especially the Stones picture sleeves. I love picture sleeve 7" and 12" singles. I recently got a really nice 12" single picture sleeve of the Rolling Stones Satisfaction.
Some of those records you showed must be worth quite a bit of money. That Beatles promo must be pretty rare. I have a friend who collects records and he visits Japan three times a year just to buy vinyl. He doesn`t do anything tourist related. He just buys loads of vintage jazz and classic rock records on his visits and the records and sleeves are always in excellent to Mint condition. On his last visit he bought some original 1960`s Kinks and Beatles 7" picture sleeve singles and they all look brand new , Mint.
Have you ever gone record shopping in a different state or maybe even a different country when you`re on holiday. Would you ever travel as far as somewhere like Japan to go record shopping ?
Personally i find a lot of Miles Davies albums really hard work to listen too. To my ears some of his music sounds really directionless and self-indulgent. But his album in A Silent Way is perfect, completely beautiful. That`s my favourite album by him.
Completely random question. Do you wash / clean your records before playing them ?
Really enjoyable video. Thanks for sharing.
Hi! I have record shopped in many states but not in another country. Your friend must have a fierce record collection. Wow. The Miles Davis records I own are all enjoyable. I listen to them on my phone before I purchase them so I know what I am getting. I do clean all my records. I actually enjoy the process. It's relaxing. The copy of Rolling Stones' Satisfaction sounds like an incredible find. Take care!
Hi Melinda, Great Japanese Pressing, I never see any in my area that's the drawback to small town living. Your home is beautiful, love the tiger picture over the fireplace, I have an affection for tigers i have a big tattoo of one n my upper arm, in Myrtle beach there is a place where you can interact with tigers for a small donation. I used to go there for bike week and that was the first place i would visit.
Thank you for complimenting my home. I have had the Tiger picture for a very long time and I never get tired of it. I haven't been to Myrtle Beach in forever. The place to see tigers sound amazing. I don't find very many Japanese pressings where I live either. There is a guy who will ship them to me when I see one I want. Have a good night.
It was originally released on MCA Records,1979.
It has a lyric sheet.
You prolly dont care but if you're stoned like me atm then you can stream pretty much all the latest movies and series on instaflixxer. I've been binge watching with my gf for the last weeks :)
@Mustafa Merrick definitely, have been watching on InstaFlixxer for since december myself :)
Hi Melinda, you may want to check which Japanese pressing of Led Zep 3 you have because that is one of the few Japanese pressings that was originally released without any obi strip surprisingly.....so you may not be missing anything at all!
Thank you so much for the tip. I had just recently learned that it didn't come with an obi strip to begin with. Thanks so much for mentioning this and I apologise for not seeing this message sooner. Take care.
I bought a lot of Japanese imports when I was stationed in Okinawa in 1980-1981. They were made on virgin vinyl and when you put it up to a light, it would shine without a single flaw and were perfectly flat. They sounded great then and still do. During that period of time, when I would by an American pressing, they would always be warped and you could see impurities in the vinyl. That's my two cents, but I think they are awesome.
That's why I am a big fan of Japanese pressings. Good for you to pick up Japanese albums when you had the opportunity. 😊
Excellent video and some really awesome LP’s you showed. I absolutely love Bob Dylan...only if someone else is singing. Lol.
Dylan is a awesome writer. Singer not so much 🙂.
Again awesome video 👍
Haha! He sings better than me!😄
Melinda Murphy Lol. 🙂🙂🙂🙂
Nice Japanese pressings!! Thanks for showing your most prized vinyl. I just did a vid showing some of my Japanese pressed vinyl earlier this week, maybe it gave you some inspiration if you watched it.
I went back and watched it. I love Japanese pressings. Killer Bon Jovi! Congrats!
Wow Melinda you have same really awesome Japanese pressings! I loved seeing the White Album poster of their faces. I think I would've much rather had that poster on my wall then the actual poster included in my copy of the white album. If you ever want to show the Japanese Beatles box set you have a very eager viewer here to see that! 😀 An OBI on a box set? That's something I've never seen before. Very very cool Zeppelin releases. Amazing stuff! And another Dylan original master recording. Wow is all I have to say. I also very much hearing you talk about your daughters and your stories. And I second your shout outs for Chris Has The Spins and Mama Bear Vinyl. Enjoyed this video! Take care! -Bill
Thank you Bill. I may have to do a video of that Beatles box set. I have had a few requests now. I hate to disappoint you. The obi comes on the box with that set but it was no longer on mine. The box is fine but I bought it to have great copies of the UK studio albums for cheap. The albums are nearly perfect. The box, not so much. Lol. I agree about the poster. I was never a huge fan of the poster that came in the white album but I do love the portraits. Thanks and take care Bill.
The poster of the individual photos is so cool. Love Paul's Tug of War album, one of his best solo efforts which I just recently got on 180 gram vinyl. Take It Away reminds me of Got To Get You Into My Life with the brassy horn arrangement. Documentary film maker Ken Burns used Paint It Black to close one of the episode of his Vietnam documentary which really made the song even darker then I ever heard before. Speaking of Ken Burnes his documentary on the history of Jazz is outstanding and a go to if you want to have a full scope of the great genre of music. By the way if you ever run across a jazz album called More Blues and the Abstract Truth by Oliver Nelson, get it, a must have for people getting interested in jazz. Great Japanese Zep pressings there. My favorite Zep album is Physical Graffiti. It is a double album which is a format which allow them to stretch musically when they were at their prime. The only Zep album that I do not rank highly is Presence which felt more like a Jimmy Page project and a let down as a follow up to Graffiti. Other than that I love all the Zep albums. Enjoyed watching the video. :)
Thank you Lawrence. My second favorite is Physical Graffiti but they are all good. I will write down the names of the jazz albums and try to watch the Ken Burnes documentary. Sounds great. Take care.
@@MelindaMurphyKen Burns Jazz is a ten part series available on DVD. I do not know if it is also available through streaming but you might find it at your local library. It is fascinating and you will not only lean about jazz but music in general. Take Care Lawrence :)
Nice Led Zeppelin finds. I like a select few of Dylans vinyl. I like some jazz, mostly Al DiMeola.
I just looked up Al DiMeola. Amazing and very well respected. I am kinda where you are on Bob Dylan but what albums I have, I like alot. Thank you and have a great day. It is almost the weekend.😁
@@MelindaMurphy Al DiMeola great electric & acoustic guitarist. The first 4 from the '70s are great. You might want to also check out Stanley Clarke, Paco Deluca, & John McLaughlin.

Cool stuff. No more tears looks great.
Paint it black is one of Rolling Stones songs I like. Specially Smack's version. ;)
So many Japanese stuff. This makes me to go back to look things from Amazon Japan. But I didn't find anything for my wallet.
mr. finglish (Bäd English Recs)
The copies I get are more expensive but not ridiculous. Some people are really wanting too much money for them. O hope to continue to find them at decent prices. Take care.
Hi Melinda. Lots of good albums. In Canada the early pressings of the White album came with the 4 photos and a giant poster. However, the poster is different from the one you unfolded and showed. Probably the same as the poster you showed but did not unfold.
Yes. The poster I didn't unfold is the standard one that came in them all. I showed the other poster because it took the place of the 4 photos making it unique. Thank you for watching and have a great night!
Japanese pressings on vinyl have eluded me, for the moment. lol. I will score some. Those Zeppelin are amazing though. And glad to see you get Miles Davis. In A Silent Way is fantastic. A Kind Of Blue is also an essential own from him, imho it is the perfect jazz album. That is one I am looking for multiples of from different presses, and I cant say that about many albums. Great video Melinda.
That Miles Davis goal is a very cool one. Kind of Blue was the first jazz album we bought. It is killer. I have several Miles Davis albums now. Thanks for your comments and have a great day.
I’d love to one day get myself some Japanese pressings...can’t say I have any in my collection yet!
Hi! I try to get them when I can of bands I really love. They are hard to find at times where I live. Take care and thanks so much for watching. If you do find some Japanese pressings, let me know what you get.🤩
Melinda Murphy oh most definitely! And I like that Chris has helped you start getting into jazz! He’s one of the people who helped expand my jazz knowledge! That Miles album was the second one I had ever heard of his works! What a great way to start into the world of jazz!
@@MikeGuitarPlayer07 thank you. Chris is the expert. I respect his opinions tremendously. Thank you.
Awesome video Melinda! I'm laughing to myself thinking about if we were to do a sound comparison side by side on your OMR Bob Dylan vs the copy I just picked up in Goodwill lol. I bet that will sound amazing. Those Japanese presses of Zeppelin II and III were really neat. I recently found a copy of The Wall that was a Venezuelan press, and similar to you, I just needed a copy of that album in my collection so I of course scooped it up. My jaw was dropping at those Rolling Stones 45's!! They are definitely one of my favorite bands and you NEVER see those in that good of condition....congrats on finding those! Very nice story of the Kings of Leon record, thanks for sharing that personal story and it's so great to hear that your daughter is doing well. A Beatles promo....how cool :) Ps, I would love to send a few records your way Melinda! If you feel comfortable with sharing your address, please email it to me at chrisbllngs@yahoo.com (maybe a link to your discogs as well if you have that, if not, no worries!) thanks and have a great rest of your week! :) -Chris
Hi Chris. It would be kind of funny to listen to the Dylan albums side by side. I know which one was costly so I wonder if it is truly worth it. Lol. The Stones 45's were some of my favorite pick ups. I can find Beatles in good shape but never the Stones. Thanks for watching. I will send you my address and I will try to figure out how to link my discogs. No judging. Lol. I may have some interesting records in my collection. I guess we all do. Take care.
@@MelindaMurphy Perfect, thanks! And LOL I can assure you, there will be no judgements whatsoever! Also, just realized I forgot to say THANK YOU for the shout out at the beginning of your video, that was really awesome of you and it's very humbling, so thank you very much!
@@chris_has_the_spins it was my pleasure to mention you. You are just so genuine and I love the videos very much. Other people are agreeing with me in the comments too. I will send you the email and my discogs info tomorrow. I feel very honored that you want to send something my way. Thank you.
I have a Beatles White Album, fairly early British pressing, in which the portraits are a poster like yours. Interesting.
That's cool to know. I had never heard of a poster like that being in anything but this box set. The white album has so many variances. So confusing (and interesting).
Ya back. I’ve never seen a Zepp 3 lyric sheet and I have a pretty old Usa pressing. It has Atlantic albums on the sleeve.
Hey there!
I have a recording of
Soul Box from Grover Washington. Which
has a booklet.
I wonder how your Japanese pressing of Led Zep II compares to an original RL mastered one? I've never heard either but would love to one day! I had an original repress that had all of the dynamics squashed, it sounded terrible and ended up trading it in for some credit. Would love a good pressing of that record!
Your Led Zeppelin question is a good one. I would love to do that sound test of the RL and my Japanese pressing. I'm happy with mine and the way it sounds. Sorry about your copy. Do you know if the new represses are any good?
1.RL
2. Classic records BG cut
3. OG Canadian press

Well howdy Melinda. Trying to get my early morning reports and emails done so if figured I would do it with you today! Mile Davis, my all time favorite person as I believe you are aware of that. In a Silent Way is a beautiful album, peaceful and reflective. This was the beginning of his fusion period. If you do not have Kind Of Blue you need to seek that out. It is easy to listen to, not complicated but so good.
Bob Dylan, still trying to like him. I have dozens of his CDs but I don't listen to him much. I don't mind hi but what the heck is he saying lol.
Guess I am not getting any work done typing this so back to work I go. Have a great week. Steve
Kind of Blue was the first jazz album we bought. Wonderful. I really enjoy listening to In A Silent Way when I want to relax. It is beautiful. I am warming up to Bob Dylan alot. I never thought I would like him when I was younger but the records I have bought are really good. Thanks for watching Steve. See you Sunday! Maybe Kat will be back.
Okay...time for the onslaught of random comments. Love the Led Zeppelin picks but I'm a bit biased because I've had a love affair with the band for a very long time. Thanks for showing the Beatles White album. I've never seen anyone crack open a Japanese pressing of that album and I like the idea of a poster better than the photos. Ozzy Osbourne...I wish they would repress that one! I've been tempted to buy one of those European presses but the price keeps me away. It took me a very long time to warm up to Dylan too but once I did, I picked up quite a few of his records. Nice to see you dipping your toes into Jazz a bit. Miles had a pretty diverse career and to me he is analogous to Picasso with his different phases. Loved the story about the youth group trip and McCartney. I am glad you finally got out a little bit to see the rest of the United States, even though it was a bit late in life but you got to see Opry land...that's something I'll never get to do. Someday I would like to swing through Nashville. It's on my bucket list of cities to see.
Led Zeppelin is just one of the best. I feel really lucky to own my favorite album in such a special way. I am getting requests to show my entire Beatles box set. I may do that. I chose the white album because it's numbered and it has the poster instead of the pictures. I have developed a love and appreciation for Bob Dylan and I enjoy his amazing lyrics and harmonica. I have been on some wonderful vacations as an adult and I honestly appreciate them more now than I would have. I played tenor saxophone in high school and was in a jazz band so I'm wanting some jazz with the tenor sax in it for future purchases. Thanks so much for watching. You have the best videos so I feel honored that you take the time to watch one of mine.
@@MelindaMurphy I can't remember if I asked this but did you pick up the Circle's album? Nothing like Sammy and Michael Anthony cutting loose on Led Zeppelin covers with Jason Bonham. Rumor has it they have a new album in the works. I just wish they would release their debut on vinyl.
@@BarakaPDub unfortunately no. I need to find that and some Chickenfoot someday. I have been working on the Van Halen collection. I am just one shy away from having all the studio albums. I'm sure it is wonderful.
Hello Melinda; Nice pick up on the Led Zeppelin, they utilized the Atlantic label design from the early/mid 60's. The Beatles White Album is a nice find outside the box. The Bob Dylan, with Suzi Rutolo at his side walking down Jones St. NYC is very cool to have. Nice Ozzy picture disc. Paul McCartney's Take it Away on colored vinyl. Rolling Stones As Tears go By & Paint it Black they are rare. Stupid Girl, Mick's attack on a former society girlfriend. Miles Davis the best. In a Silent Way a very good LP. The Beatles promo is one to have. The German Kiss LP is rare. Led Zeppelin 2 is also a nice pick up can't lose with a Japanese press. Nice Video. Well explained. Take care. Tina!!!!
Thank you Tina. You are so knowledgeable. I would love to just go to a record store with you and you could just teach me so much about all the records. Have a great night!
Wow! Hope your daughter continues to have good health. My wife beat Leukaemia nearly 30 years ago. Its why I call her my miracle wife. God is good.
The Lord blessed us too. Our daughter is well and cancer free for nearly 9 years. She actually works in cardiac medical research for a university now.
@@MelindaMurphy That is so great to hear. Bless you!
I hope you have framed that special White album poster by now !!!!1
Not yet! I am hoping to redo my movie/music room upstairs. I would love to frame it in the future though.
Greetings Melinda! I love the Take It Away colored vinyl import. Is that recently pressed, and is it backed with I’ll Give You A Ring and Dress Me Up As A Robber? Also, are your MOFi recordings recent and do you notice that they playback at lower volume than regular pressings? All of mine are from another century...literally!
PS I’m glad to hear your daughter is well.
The Paul McCartney Take It Away was pressed in 1982. You are correct about the b side. The mofi records in this video are new and they are quieter in terms of vinyl noise and maybe slightly overall yes. Thank you for the kind words about my daughter. 😄
👍🏻
The way you coordinate the Fireplace... Record bin... pillows... lights... paintings and shirt color is beyond exquisite. Your attention to detail... Mmm Mmm Mmmm *applause
I like Chris Has The Spins... I just do not have time to watch all his videos... 45 minutes is not possible with all I need to watch... I watch when I can and I feel bad about it...
The album No More Tears is still hard to get.. unless you are rich and get a foreign copy... Some RSD will redo it and they will get RICH.
Great 45's in great shape!
MRs.VV LOVES Twilight... too much... so much I intentionally hate it out of principle...
Everything is suppose to be a beachy laid back theme in my house even though I live nowhere near an ocean unfortunately. The shirt was truly unintentional. It was just what I put on. You know a channel is good when you don't realize a video was 45 minutes long. He's that good. I hope every day is a little bit better than the one before in your recovery. Thanks so much for watching and commenting. You are always a hoot.
Take it easy on the Dillan. Lol. N more Tears excellent song.
Great find on the Stones picture sleeves. 'Stupid Girl' had an hilarious promo video with Jagger and company in drag. Love the Led Zeppelin II and III finds-- didn't see anything plain about the poster though. Miles Davis is cool. You might try Dave Brubeck's 'Time Out' 'album for further investigations into Jazz.
OT noticed in the background that your TV is sitting on a cube organizer unit. Is that the Threshold brand from Target?
Hi Eugene. I haven't seen the video for "Stupid Girl." It does sound funny. Dave Brubeck's "Time Out" is wonderful and I do have a copy. It's probably an essential jazz album. You are very observant. The cube organizers were from Target. 😃 We replaced them a few months back with built in book shelves that hold my record collection. Thanks for watching and for taking the time to share your thoughts and suggestions. I really appreciate it. Have a great Saturday.
I only know about the organizers because I work for Target and bought 2 6- cube and 1 4- cube for my records. I saw the video of your new shelves-- they are killer!
Fantastic poster, congrats for have it!, I just have a little question for you Melinda, could you say the name of the painting behind you that shows the two tigers somewhere in the jungle? And the name of the artist who painted it? I really liked it, thank you, my good wishes and continue growing your record collection. By the way very beautiful picture of you too.
Certainly! The name is The Secret Heart by Dario Campanile. Thank you.
@@MelindaMurphy i very appreciate your answer, you are very kind, I will look for more information about the artist, I wish you more prosperity and blessings.
The Japanese flag series White album is in my opinion, one of the best sounding pressings.
Nice. Japanese pressings are really good. 😄
Wow, lots of really nice picks there Melinda. I know some of Dylan's work takes some getting used to (vocals, etc.) but it is definitely worth it. That Freewheelin' release is the one that put Dylan in the national spotlight. It has several of his most important ( political) songs on it. The lyrics of course is the true treasure of his work. Great finds on those Stones 45's. I really like their songs from that period (from the beginning until about 1966). I may try to get the RSD release of High Tides and Green Grass this April. It has some really good tunes from the early years. Do you have it, or plan to get it? So pleased to hear that your daughter is doing well. I know 2010 must have been a very tough time but thankfully everyone doing fine now. The entire family suffers when something like that manifests. The memories of shared listening to great music can be very good. Maybe she will join you on a video sometime. I didn't set out to write a book so I'll stop now. As always, all the best.
I agree with what you said about Bob Dylan. He is a treasure. I think that the RSD Rolling Stones album would be awesome but I already have it. What you said was so nice. I love how music can bring back such great memories. Thank you so much for the kind words. Especially about my family. Take care.
Ma'am, Do you have a Japanese pressing of Live Steppenwolf?
I'm sorry. I do not.
Ma'am, John Kay sounds
familiar to you?
Don't they have a record
store where you are?
They're originally from
Canada.
Formerly The Sparrow Canadian Band.
u shld try out the 1st japan pressing of LZ 2 with the green blue atlantic label.
I actually saw one in a store the other day. It was pretty pricey and missing the obi so I passed. I bet it sounds wonderful though.
ohhh.. Melinda it sounds amazing. I have abt 3 or 4 diff japan pressings of LZ2, including the one you featured here. the blue/green one sounds significantly better. mine is without obi too. the ones with the obi are pretty rare. and price is pretty high too. I also have several japn pressings of LZ3 as well. the one you have is the best sounding as far as jpn pressings are concerned. since ur in the US, you may wanna seek a LZ2 first US pressing with RL in the deadwax. seems like that is the best sounding LZ2 ever. thanks for sharing your collection. hope to get an RL myself but sadly hard to source for one since im in singapore
@@ceejaydeesoozaa I hope you do find your RL copy and thanks for the info. I really appreciate it.
yes I hope so too Melinda. do drop me a msg when you do happen to own one. im sure ur gonna love it 😊
Your japanese Led Zeppelin III seems to be a first pressing, which has that different label, available only until late 60's, early '70. That particular white album from the box could be a misspressing as it's rumoured that some were pressed in mono. If you can, try to find the mail-order japanese edition of Led Zeppelin II from 1978, which has the catalog code FCPA 1040. This one sounds even better than the regular japanese editions. I have that 12" picture single of No More Tears and a 7" picture single of Perry Mason. It seems that Ozzy likes releasing picture discs for singles (I also have a Black Sabbath 7" picture single of Paranoid backed with Iron Man from '82).
Thank you so much for the advice. This white album came out of a UK blue box from around 1980. It sounds amazing. This Led Zeppelin record sounds fantastic. ♥️🤗Thank you and take care.
got to get Ozzy on vinyl, not a lot around in South Africa
I hope you find exactly what you are looking for.😄
DISCOGS MY FRIEND.
Great Video love the Beatles promo. Keep up the good work check out when you can Blue Note Jazz example: Hank Mobley "Soul Station"
Thanks for the suggestion. I will give it a listen.
Those are great looking Stones singles. What do you think of Marianne Faithful's version of As Tears Go By? I like Picture discs, i'm not an audiophile so i don't really know about the sound quality on them. However i do know you're lucky to have that Bob Dylan pressing. I used to have an awful pressing of it, one side sounded fine, the other was awful. I read somewhere that it was ordinary thing for that album for some period of time. Coming across those promo items are a real stroke of luck as you have to be a dedicated fan just to be aware for them existing. I'm not a fan of Kiss Killers as a compilation, there's simply not enough songs on it to cover their career up to that point. I really do like the four new songs on it. I have never seen that Led Zeppelin poster. The sleeve of Zep II looks oddly pale especially if you look at how deep black the II on it looks like.
Pasi
Hi! I think the Marianne Faithful version of As Tears.Go By is beautiful. Different enough from the Stones that it stands on it's own merit. I agree with you, I am so lucky to have the Bob Dylan records I own. Kiss Killers is a weak compilation by Kiss. They have some of the best greatest hits albums ever but that isn't one of them. The sleeve on the Zeppelin 2 album is alot lighter than my US copy. I'm not sure why but I have seen that before. The Japanese press must have had a color variance. Thank you so much for watching and for the conversations we have. Have a great weekend!
Zep 2!!!!
Hey Melinda!!!!
Hey Tavis. How are you doing?
Led Zepp II is awesome. My fav behind "In through The Out Door". (It was my first zepp on cassette) I just got Miles Davis "Bitches Brew" and it sounds amazing on Vinyl. I also have on CD "Kind Of Blue" and "Round About Midnight". I was playing Ozzy "No More Tears" today as my driving music for the day. 3-4 times a week I pick a CD that I haven't listened to in a while and use it as my driving music for the day. Your vids rock and you have awesome taste in music. May I ask how avant-garde you go in your music? I may have some things for you to check out if you were interested. Rock On!
I hear wonderful things about Bitches Brew but I haven't listened to it yet. No More Tears is so good and In From the Outdoor is my daughters favorite Zeppelin album. I'm always up for musical suggestions as long as it isn't too far out there. Thanks so much for commenting!
@@MelindaMurphy awesome. The albums I'm gonna suggest to you are kinda out there. All I ask is that you give them a sample. If you don't like, that is cool. These bands are not for everyone, but it will broaden your musical horizon if you do dig them.
Kaelan Mikla "Nott Eftir Nott" they sing in icelandic
Norman Westburg "After Vacation" Instrumental music
Swans "Glowing Man" It's industrial Noise rock. Seen both Swans and Norman live.
Rock on and have a great weekend
Hey Melinda... Love your enthusiasm about vinyl...
However I do not understand peoples obsession with Japanese pressings.
Back in the '70s I was "nutso" over these pressings.
The Backgrounds were absolutely silent, I loved it !.
But I soon came to realize that when these recordings were mastered
The Bass and Treble were boosted for no apparent reason.
I soon came to understand that a lot of listeners will judge a recording and / or sound system by "sizzling" cymbals and thumpy Bass.
This is what Japanese pressings are like to me.
I sold all of my Japanese Pressings in the early 80"s and replaced them with German or British Pressings.
I find them warmer and a more realistic presentation.
Keep up the good work !
I really appreciate your kind words. I agree with you that German pressings sound great but I think Japanese pressings do too. The quality of the vinyl and quality of everything all around is what I love. As a collector the beautiful obi strips are very cool too. I have upgraded many US pressing to Japanese pressings and have heard a noticable difference in most cases. I certainly love this discussion. Have a great day and take care.
Thank You for sharing 😊
Do you have UK pressings?
Not very many. I have an Elton John Goodbye Yellow Brick Road on yellow vinyl.
Good record too
You should mount that poster. The crease will get worse as time goes on
That would be very cool to frame. Thank you. 😃
If you don’t mind me asking. Where are you getting these great finds for so cheap??? The Ozzy, I saw a video where you said you bought Toto for a $1. Where??? LoL
The Toto album was purchased at Funhouse records in Louisville KY. Unfortunately, that store has closed. I always picked up great stuff there. I miss it.
Melinda Murphy thank you. Love the channel
Comment 1: That Zeppelin is Beautiful.
Comment 2: The White Album is my Fav Beatles album. I cannot wait to get a copy.
Comment 3: i would frame that beautiful poster.
Very sweet. Thank you so much!
Love Japanese pressings . Best quality next to MFSL . White Album has been remastered so many time's . I'd say the one you got there Sound's great .
My white album does sound great but I did pick up the Giles Martin remastered vinyl. He does a great job and I plan to pick up all of his remasters. Thanks for watching and have a great weekend!
Melinda Murphy Like I know who Giles Martin is :( looked him up . your mission, get back to me on which really sounds better . Picked up MFSL Dark Side - Very nice :) always wanted to hear White Album on MFSL
@@davedavis9693 I already know the answer to that. It is a very call but the Giles Martin reissue beats them all. ( I can't speak for the mofi because I don't have that one) The only exception is the song While My Guitar Gently Weeps. The Japanese press is better on that song.
Melinda Murphy Thanks , heard MFSL has to much mid range . Got Abby Road on MFSL it sounds fantastic . " I want you " she's so heavy , George Harrison's lead goes thru so many different amplifiers an guitars , kinda neat
@@davedavis9693 that song from Abbey Road would be incredible to hear on a mofi!
