    **For Melinda Murphy, Bon Voyage**
In the bluegrass heart of Kentucky’s land,
Where vinyl’s warmth met Melinda’s hand,
She shared with the world each pressing, each groove,
Where music’s essence began to move.
Her voice, a guide through the analog sea,
Unveiling the magic for you and me,
From the crackle of vintage to the clarity new,
Her passion and wisdom always rang true.
    With each review, emotions unfurled,
    Songs became stories, deeply twirled,
    In Melinda’s realm, music’s breath,
Touched the soul, beyond life’s breadth.
Now she embarks on a sunlit quest,
To Florida’s shores, where waves caress,
With her husband by her side, hand in hand,
In a new chapter, a fresh, bright land.
May the records spin with joyanew,
In the balmy air and skies of blue,
And every melody they play and hear,
Bring happiness, peace, and endless cheer.
For Melinda, the muse of vinyl’s song,
May Florida’s warmth carry you along,
In your journey of sound, both old and new,
We wish you joy in all you pursue.
    Chuck Ferguson

You are so welcome! You and your channel have touched many people. I was originally going to say that these were the last words of Eddy van Halen, dedicated to you, but you know how it is, there’s a time and a place for everything. I also thought maybe to add some humour (Melinda buys so many records! What’s her favourite song? “Broke on the Water”)
There are so many more amazing things about you that I could have written, such as your great memory about your purchases, and the great work ethic you have when looking through used record shops. Anyway I’m glad you like it, I was really hoping you would.

i have more than 15.000 LP records and the early albums i have are from late 60´s , most of the remasterized versions in vinyl today sound a lot worst than the original ones , i don´t know if it were first editions has i used to travel to london where my sister still lives and my younger brother but he changed to scotland main city not the capital but the other most known ,and being there 4 to 5 times a year also in germany and netherlands where i had family, i used to go first to muisc stores ,in my country portugal there was a dictatorship that didn´t allowed subversive bands like the beatles after 66 , this story of remasterizing isn´t a faithfull copy of the original production but a perverted form of the original music and records at the time had great sound and better than the ones sold today, the Beatles as an example had all their records in mono and they sound better than the converted to stereo ,except Abbey Road that was released in Stereo , i bought both red and blue doble Lp´s for having in stereo some beatles songs and i can add that when released for the first time in CD there are more songs than the ones in the record ,that i remenber having to buy the let it be single that had 4 songs and the ballad of john and yoko also don´t let me down wasn´t in the doble Lp´s, but added in the cds that i remenber them saying that they would want the cd version top be released as a doble cd to match the original doble Lp´s . I bought them in december of 75 because they weren´t yet released in portugal and i went to sevilla in Spain to buy them ,allthough there was a revolution that made my country become a democracy ,real one many hundreds of records weren´t available yet in Portugal, i remenber a guy that works in a radio station saying he was a kid when back in black from AC/DC came out but at the EMI store, he saw several Lp´s from AC/DC in the window to the street and thinking they had been released all in that year but no ,just the first time AC/DC LP´s were sold in Portugal and i remenber that happening a lot with most of the bands in the EMI store in Lisbon, you would have three floors with all Lp´s in music being separated by the name of the band and you could buy whatever Lp you wanted from your favorite band, sorry for having drifted from the main matter but with age that as happened a lot of times. I want only to refer one LP that the lead singer said that the new rematerized version of their first Lp was how he wanted to be not the one released first but he might be with the brain destroyd because of the excess of drugs consumed that i did too but acid only two times a year not every weelend or week days, i´m refering to Aqualung from jethro Tull that if it as been released like the modern version they would be a forgoten band as the first release was well produced and had a caractheristic that made me even more interested in the band that when he sings with a guitar the sound is low and when all the band joins the sound become louder this to make people listen to it at a high volume ,i bought some Lp´s from them after and none had the quality of the first, if it was a error people would not have bought the record that sounds amazing and he wouldn´t lived his life as a rock star ,so new editions are far from original quality and people say they liked it because they never listened to the original edition with a good system ,most of them were yet to be born, but you´re true we all seek for a better sounding version i never thought of the editions, my older records are still like new only some that i used to hear more often have the covers cutted on the sides but the record sound is perfect ,i never let a record of mine leave home after having two doble Lp´s and a singular one destroyd because a friend of mine asked for them, and i only did it because he had just bought a new system from pioneer this in 1971 than in decembery of 72 i travel with my family to Africa where i lived and worked only till August of 75 because the country started a civil war,i´m refering to Luanda, Angola, sorry for the extra content

One of the things that make your videos so great to watch is how honest and real you are and your passion for music is plain to see. I never got rid of my vinyl when CD came along as I didn't like how it sounded and as a result I have records that I bought as a teenager back in the 70s. They are far too precious to me to ever consider letting them go even if I own better sounding copies. Some of my records are literally the sound track to those years. I must confess though that unless a record is damaged in some way I rarely buy another copy, due to financial constraints mainly and lack of storage space too. All the very best with your house move.

I was born in the 90s, grew up in the 2000s. I have a similar background, we couldn’t afford for me to have vinyl and CDs. As an adult I like to collect a lot and get things from my childhood, I think it’s me subconsciously collecting my upbringing through music. I also collect the music I would listen to in secret because as a child I thought it was ‘weird’… it’s amazing what memories and feelings a record from the past can bring back! Never feel guilty for buying things that bring you joy :)

Growing up in the 80s with Walkmans it was initially all cassettes for me. The first CD I ever heard was INXS The Swing. A friend of my Dad had bought a very expensive stereo, and invited us around to show it off. How clear the start of Burn For You sounded just blew my mind. It took me until 1989 to get a CD player myself, and my first CD was Brothers in Arms to replace a well worn cassette. After that, everything new was CDs. When I started working full time in the mid 90s I went back in time and purchased CD versions of all my old favourite cassettes like Pyromania, Hysteria, Kick, 5150, Momentary Lapse, Slippery when wet etc.
Nowdays (well, for about the last 20 years now) I can’t resist stopping at a garage sale and discovering an obscure CD album of something I remember from the 80s, but never bought back then. There’s lots of unique Aussie artists who never made it big, but were popular enough locally, and finding their old CDs transports you back in time - bringing up long forgotten feelings and memories, and I love it.
I don’t collect vinyl, and I buy CDs to listen to (and rip to mp3 and iTunes for the car) but I completely understand collecting, along with duplicates and triplicates. I’m guilty of the same thing with other hobbies, and to a small extent, with music. With CDs though, my duplicates are usually a different market CD with a few unique tracks, or an anniversary edition with a bonus of some sort. Pink Floyd, Def Leppard and even Bon Jovi have done some anniversary or remix editions that I really like, but every now and then I like to listen to the original mix. Reading these comments shows how much joy music brings to everyone.

I loved this video for many reasons. The first, OMG, I was laughing my fool head off at the story of your friends making out when they heard your voice on the radio - hilarious!!!!!
My story is, I had a modest collection of vinyl which I started collecting in the late 60’s. Then CD’s came out and I lost my mind - no more snap, crackle, pop’s!!!! I got on a mission to replace every album I owned with the CD version. Then I started going to record shows and sharing a table with a friend and was selling the vinyl I had replaced. Sold half of my collection until, one day I did an A/B comparison - vinyl versus CD. WOW - what a revelation!!!!! It wasn’t just a subtle difference that you could kinda hear, it was a mind blowing difference. No contest what so ever, the vinyl won hands down. Then I was furious with myself for selling all my Yardbirds, Kinks, etc. records.
While buying CDs, there were titles that I have bought 3, 4, even 5 versions of, always hoping for one that sounded better than the vinyl. Still has not happened yet. So, I’m buying vinyl again. Some of them from your influence. 😁. So, you are not the only one buying multiple copies of the same record!

I am old enough to have a good number of OG vinyl albums (1968 onwards) which hold significant sentimental value for a number of reasons. I wouldn’t consider getting rid of any of these. However, I would not buy an OG replacement for most of these as the sentimental value lies in the copy I have. I have recently started buying selected new versions of some of these as a treat to myself - I have a list of 8 Atlantic 75 45 rpm series and some Rhinos for example. I don’t have racks of albums- my listening room is my living room and after over 40 years I still like to avoid upsetting my wife. I also don’t have lots of fans sending me copies of vinyl. I would therefore say keep your real sentimental OG stuff, your audiophile versions and fan presents - they may look similar but they each have a different purpose.

Hey Melinda, vinyl collections to me are similar to stock/investment portfolios. The extra higher quality copies you purchase will hold their value or increase in their value imho. I feel safer sometimes investing in vinyl because even if vinyl sales decline, the value will be there for the most part. And the most important to me is that you have something that you can have fun with and enjoy! Its harder when you have investment portfolios at times due to the fact you always are checking on them and you stress out when you see them lose their value. Explain to Philip that these are your new investment portfolios, once he thinks about it, he'll realize that this will succeed for the future. So in essence, get originals and get a top quality copy or two for investment purposes also!Love your videos and good luck on your upcoming move!❤❤

I’m definitely a vinyl hoarder and have multiple copies of several albums. The fact that I received the majority of my vinyl from my mom a few years ago and got me back into vinyl, I can’t get rid of them. The vinyl from the 70’s and earlier is some that I remember from my childhood. My vinyl collecting is mostly collectors edition of vinyl like colored vinyl. KISS is my favorite and have multiple copies of the same album, just special editions releases. I had told you about wanting the alternate cover edition of Creatures of the Night and just got it a couple of weeks ago and also found a version with the S’s that are used for German releases. VH is also one of my other favorites and I have got the Dave album vinyl and Sammy vinyl box sets along with the Right here right now and For Unlawfull Carnial Knowledge that was released last week. I love both vintage and new releases also and have been reluctant on replacing my older stereo equipment, but finally broke down and decided to get a new receiver and speakers but still keeping my old turntable. For me the most extreme case of vinyl collecting that I have heard of is on the KISS US vinyl release CZcams channel that I recently started watching. WOW, I didn’t know that there’s so many variations of labels and album covers. Don’t think I will try to get all of those, but fun to see all of them. No matter how or what we collect, the main thing is if it brings us joy, then it is good and worth sharing in the community of vinyl collectors.

I keep a lot of my old records from the 1970’s and 1980’s. Because most of the old Disco/Dance albums or 12” Singles were never reissued. Disco music is the hardest genre of music to find reissues. Now I’m not talking about Saturday Night Fever or the mainstream Disco music. There was so many great Disco/Dance songs and albums that I call underground Disco/Dance that will never be rereleased. So I’m lucky I have my originals. Great example is Cerrone 3 that has Supernature on it. Which was played at the opening ceremony of the Paris2024. If you get a chance listen to it on whatever streaming service you have. It’s not like anything you probably heard before. Cerrone is French too. 😊😊

I've not done this with Vinyl but CD's and SACD's and digital downloads Absolutely, Most of the time it's a special edition that has more extra tracks quite often the new edition is a label remaster where the original was typically better . The sentimental ones are really hard to get rid off too. Also one of the beauties of digital and the internet is that you can often get even dodgy downloads for the version you want to get and check it's actually better before you hunt down the physical object. Some sites do vinyl rips in High Res that come from equipment I could only dream of owning which sing through my digital setup better than my own turn table ever could.

I am more of an OG collector, but I have been collecting long enough that i completed a lot of stuff that has gone up in value a lot in the last 10 years. I have all the coltrane impulse titles i want and first pressing of every Miles Davis record in mono or stereo, blue note OGs etc. A lot of the other stuff i collect like early punk rock, i prefer the original pressings, and sometimes get the reissue as a placeholder, but that genre is not for the sound quality, its the music. I think its fair to keep doubles, triples, or heck some of my favorite records i have as many as 6 copies. I do part with duplicates, and i think its a good practice for any collector to sell stuff and practice non-attachment to goods.

At one point in time hopefully my spouse of 45 plus years will just accept the hobbies. I was the owner of over a thousand records when we met while we were both living with our parents. I accept all her hobbies good and bad. Yes. The comments are forthcoming every time a LP, CD or book arrives. Yes. I spent way less discretionary income over the years than my...., but that does not matter to her. My hobby is invisible on the upper two levels of the home. Does not matter either. I was quite open about seeking our second home WITH room in the basement (not even the whole basement) for storage of LPs/CDs and audio system. NEVERTHELESS, I am not downsizing. I am buying less because of prices. Damn the torpedos...
I will generally only keep two copies if both are in great condition. I will also keep mono and stereo copies. A lot of duplicates go to my son or brother-in-law. I have about 120 duplicates not including duplicate LP-CD combos.

Melinda, there are some records I have 2 copies of, but the reasons may differ from yours. I have 2 copies of Santana's "Abraxas," for example; the second copy is because my original had what I thought was too much surface noise. I have 2 copies of "Inner Secrets" also. My original was lost in a fire, and a few years later I found another copy, but it was a reissue with the disco-fied remix of "One Chain (Don't Make No Prison)," which I didn't care for. Then a few years ago I came across a sealed original pressing and bought it; I was quite pleased.
Speaking of Yes, I have 2 copies of "Fragile" also; the second is an Analogue Productions pressing, bought on a whim because I wondered if it would sound better (I can't tell you because it's been too long since I played either), and if you count the version in Steven Wilson's Yes remix box set, then I have 3 copies of "Fragile" and 2 of everything else, from "The Yes Album" to "Relayer."
All that to say I'm like you somewhat, but my motivations are different. Maybe I'm more practical than you, with sentiment having little to do with it. There are classic LPs I've bought because of curiosity or decided one day that I liked a song on them. I have the Alan Parsons LP you showed, but my copy is from Speakers Corner and my first purchase of the LP; I decided one day I liked "Eye in the Sky" enough to buy the LP.
My main problem continues to be not playing what I buy. There are at least 35 LPs that have yet to visit my turntable. Unfortunate.

Ok, here’s where I stand, and it’s pretty much right there with you. The albums I got growing up thru the 80’s, I won’t get rid of, regardless of how many upgraded reissues come out. Those albums I spent my allowance on or paper route money on. So those won’t leave me. However, albums I’ve gotten say in the last ten years or so, I would have no problem letting go of for an upgrade. There may be a few exceptions, but for the most part I could let them go. Certainly any album I got at the used record store or flea markets, I think I could clear out for an upgrade. Now here’s a question, would you ever go backwards? Say you get a great MoFi copy and then stumble upon an original somewhere, would you get that just to have it even if the sound quality may not be better?

Melinda, If I were in your situation, and I have been and am, I'd separate my 33 1/3 RPM LPs from my 45 RPM LPs of the same albums! They are two totally different types of LPs and deserve their own value for their own uniqueness. The 45s, even though they may sound better, are more inconvenient to be honest. You got to get up and flip the LP twice as often and also playing the 45s puts more wear and tear on your very fragile, expensive stylus! Plus 45s LPs, just by the nature of what they are, wear out faster and not last as long as a high quality 33 1/3 album? Also, if you have the best 33 1/3 LP backup, you wouldn't have to play the 45 RPM version as often or have it be your only option! Plus you get to show friends the difference in the two by demonstrating the difference. IMHO, I would keep the 45 RPM LPs as the special super LP not as the one you would have to play all the time just for the reasons I just mentioned. Enjoy both, it's not against the rules!........Geat video! ((:

If you have such a high opinion of your Japanese pressing of Band on the Run, I don’t think you would need to get the 50th anniversary version. I have the 50th and it’s pretty good to my ears - I had no previous version to compare it to but I just have the confident feeling it’s not beating an OG.
I love hearing about your record collecting through your channel.

I remember watching a CZcams video about a person who constructed a million dollar sound system. It was incredible and impressive to say the least. But we get SO caught up in variations of sound and how one lp or even one system sounds in comparison to another; His quest for the perfect sound was never fulfilled, harmonics, distortion levels, vibrations, room ambiance, everything was endless tweaking to this day. Just fire up your Crosly, drop the $1.98 cartridge on a scratchy lp and enjoy the pleasure of where the music takes you!

To quote the great Otis Redding 'It's not just sentimental'. I'm probably everything you described in your video especially OG collector who didn't offload his records. In fact I bought CD's and the numbers of both collections are probably on a par with each other. I don't cull due to the 'sentimental factor". I have given away a few non-Beatles CD's in favor of a better later copy. But as you known I'm guilty of having multiple versions of the same Beatles. The special sentimentality occurs with my first bought Australian copies of The Beatles LP's which are all early-mid 1970's pressings now collected in a once empty Beatles 'Blue BC13' Collection box that I found on Ebay. I probably won't play them again but I'll never offload them either and I now have 4 of these particular boxed sets (including from The Netherlands, Phillipines and a special limited Australian Gold edition).
I rarely buy 'audiophile' pressings with the last couple from a record fair last October. Do what makes YOU happy. Its ok to break your 'rule' if your multiple copies mean much to you. That's the most important thing. Hope you have continued good fortunes. Love your work sweetheart 😘😘👍👍😊😘

Another great video, Melinda, it really hits home!
Spouses can be a roadblock when they don't share our same passions. With 1,ooo's of records and CD's already in my collection, when a new package arrives, my wife asks, 'another record'? 'Why don't you sell some of your records'? 'You have too many already'. My answer, "If I didn't want these records, I wouldn't have bought them in the first place. If I sell a record, then I am going to have to buy it back". I have been going through my records and sorting out the duplicates to maybe sell, keeping the best copies. lol
When I buy records now, they are 99.9% vinyl. In the past, I might buy records made out of styrene or shellac. Neither type ship very well. I remember getting styrene 45's at the radio station and they would often be cracked. Then there were the eBay sellers I would buy shellac 78's from. Most eBay sellers are "flippers" and most have no Idea how to properly package old 78's for shipping. One seller sent me an Elvis 78 in a Fedex envelope made for sending letters. Well, ofcourse, it arrived in a million pieces. For my own metal health, I stopped buying 78's by mail.
I tend to buy the re-issues if there is something special about them, like being audiophile and/or 45rpm. It's mostly out of curiosity. Many times, it's hard to beat the OG. Then there are the re-issues of the re-issues. When Analogue Productions re-presses an audiophile from Classic Records, using the Classic Record's original stampers, the new re-presses won't be better. But, I am curious to compare my Classic Records 45rpm "OG" versions to the re-presses by Analogue Productions. They are close, and I prefer the new 180g versions of the former CR 200g one-sided versions. QC was much easier when they only had to deal with one-sided records. Sometimes the re-presses are done at RTI because RTI retained the stampers. This is a good thing.

The right answer of course is that there is no right answer when it comes to collecting vinyl..you do you and forget anyone who is lame enough to judge..as far as my preference, for the vast majority of records, I just want the one best sounding version, but there are many exceptions to that case, for example different cover versions or track listings or even just sentimentality..so it's not a rule that I MUST obey always, lol..and the main reason for trying to streamline to the one best sounding version is that my vinyl storage space is limited and I don't want to fill it up with multiple copies of the same record, if I am only ever am going to spin the best sounding one anyway, but that's just what works for me, and I don't judge anyone else...on another note, I've really gotten into buying Japanese pressings of albums from the 70s and 80s..I have quite a few at this point and they all sound much better than whatever American pressings I had of those same albums..however, since this is no real secret anymore, Japanese pressings of popular albums from that time can be quite expensive these days 😕

I have the new AP as well as a promo original and the Miles Showell Abbey Road half speed 45rpm cut. The OG has a bit of a harsh, brittle, fatiguing high end. The AP sounds awesome, but on my system, the Miles Showell cut sounds even better. Much more detail, separation, and more low end, especially when Mediate kicks in. Miles has stated his version was cut from a high res file made directly from the 1/2” master tape stored in an Australian vault.

I like having originals and I do buy multiple copies of certain records if there is maybe a different cover, tracks added...or just reissues. I have decent equipment but I don't have a ton of Audiophile pressings so they may not give their full potential on my system. That said I do enjoy great sound quality but that is not really my main motivation as a collector. I have had many occasions upgrading copies of records and then I end up keeping the other copy anyway. I'm a sucker for nostalgia too! Great video and take care!

I really appreciate this topic and would like to hear more in the future-maybe reading out what some of your viewers and how (and why) they collect. I recently came across a news article talking about “Swedish Death Cleaning.” Basically, the Swedish do a deep clean in the spring and they try to get rid of all the things that they know that their family won’t want after they pass on. It sounds morbid, but I tried it and realized how emotionally attached I am to some of the items I own. There is a lot of sentimentality and nostalgia wrapped into why I collect things. Sometimes I just buy something to “hear” the difference (all the newer Beatles CDs for example-even though I have the original CDs). Or how I owned Star Wars on VCR, DVD, Blu-ray, and now 4K. For those items that I collect, I look to find a better quality. But there are other things that I collect because of more sentimental reasons. Great topic (again, I’d love to hear more about this in the future as there’s the reality of only having so much space to keep items in our collections!). BTW: I love INXS’ Kick. I have such great memories of my teenage years and on hearing those songs!

I was born in November 15 1962. I started buying, collecting and listening to records when I was 8, 9 years old, so I of course have the original pressings. I still have the original pressings of my records in my collection. Yes, I hung onto them. Yes, I do have a cassette tape collection and a cd collection, but I still have all of my record collection, the original pressings. Now, as for reissue of records, I do have early reissues of records in my collection. Though, I still have the original pressings in my collection. I buy records because I want the records that have the best sound quality. I'll admit that I buy records for sentimental reasons as well. As I had mentioned, I started buying, collecting and listening to records when I was 8, 9 years old. So, I bought my records at record stores and yes even department stores that are sadly no longer open for business. I have very fond memories of buying records at really cool record stores and department stores from the late 1960s through the 1980s. My Mom used to take me to both record stores and department stores to buy records. My uncle who bought all of my vintage stereo equipment when I was a teenager, took me to the record stores and department stores to buy records when my Mom wasn't able to. The only time I buy another copy of anything, it's to replace an LP that's no longer clean enough to enjoy. I wore out my original Dark Side of the Moon. It's noisy, not trash. I bought a NM 1st US pressing. Jacket is only G+, vinyl is clean and clear, NM. I don't replace many albums or buy a second "better" copy. Instead I buy something I don't have. I’ve been a fan of INXS since 1988 when I discovered Kick and would listen to the cassette on my sony walkman walking to school. I saw them 3 times in concert. I have all of their studio albums on vinyl. I have multiple versions of many of the albums. When this version of KICK was released, I hesitated specifically because it was 45RPM. My TT has a periphery ring which makes it more laborious to play 45RPM versions of albums. I finally pulled the trigger last night on this album because I saw a review on CZcams from someone who’s opinion I respect that said that this version reduces the sibilance and has a much better balance with the bass and low end. This is a seminal and amazing album and I’m willing to try a new version if it can truly bring out the best qualities of the music. There is definitely something to be said for being cautious of re-releases. We can all admit that sometimes it’s just a money grab. As far as keeping your OG version: I would say that more often than not, older vinyl certainly has an advantage because it was pressed at a time when vinyl was the standard and there was more knowledge of the art of pressing vinyl albums. It is also more likely with these early releases that they are pressed from the original master, or closer to it. In addition, there is something special as a fan about having an original release. Anyway, your video spoke to me as someone who is a huge fan of INXS and someone who hesitated to purchase this album, but ultimately decided to get it and also keep my previous versions. I could not be more in agreement.

I'm 68 now. 38 year old me decided that vinyl was the past and CD's were the future so I gave away or sold all my vinyl apart from 10 albums that had a lot of personal history to them. All my albums were first pressings either from here in New Zealand or English first pressings.
Currently I'm on the hunt for original pressings of my favorite Pink Floyd albums, Meddle being one of them. I can get a copy from my local vinyl store in excellent condition for $249.00 NZD which is about $152 USD.
My thought is, keep the first pressings even if the quality is a little lacking, enjoy the later pressing while the value of these first pressings continues to increase.
I have Reget selling my vinyl collection, something I should never have done as I no longer have the spare cash to reinvest in something I never should have sold. Be very cautious as to the reasons why you are selling some of the early generation records. Perhaps more importantly in a lot of remastered or reissued albums they have been changed or added to, something I absolutely abhor, the reason I love the originals is because that was the way it was presented on the album and I don't want it changed. Later generations of some of the vinyl isn't the same as the original, a very good reason for keeping the first pressings.
Sorry for lack of brevity, but its a complex topic :)

Hi Melinda, very interesting video, really enjoyed it. A few points come to mind. First, I totally get where you are coming from with the whole original versus superior reissue thing. There are some records I want an original of, others I am happy with a reissue, and there’s no rhyme or reason to it half the time, it’s just a gut feeling. Second, record collecting is supposed to be fun, and to my mind having strict rules such as only allowing yourself one copy of an album kind of kills the fun. If two copies of the same record make you happy for different reasons, and it makes you sad to let one go, keep both! Third, I think the important thing is that we each collect mindfully and critically, so that our collecting does not become hoarding. We must be able to explain to ourselves why a particular record is in our collection and, if we cannot, be prepared to let it go. There, that’s my two pennies’ worth! Good luck with the move, greetings from London

It's hard to let the vintage records go. 🤗♥️ Thank you and take care.

I am very guilty of owning duplicate copies of my favorite albums. I'm glad I'm not alone in wanting extra copies. Thank you and take care.. 🤗♥️

Hi Melinda, you really are not alone in this. I have quite a few albums in my collection that I have 2 or more versions of. I have all the Beatles UK albums on vinyl and CD and a couple of them I even own on picture discs. Another favourite album I own 2 pressings of is Fleetwood Mac's Tango In The Night. I have an original 1987 pressing on black vinyl and a really cool reissue version on a bottle green coloured vinyl. I saw it in my local hmv store and I knew I already have the original pressing of it in my collection but after finding this really cool green pressing of the album I just couldn't pass it up. I enjoyed hearing the piece about your fond memories of the Kick album btw. INXS is one of my favourite bands too and I love that album. I have all their albums on CD right from the first one they released in 1980. IMO the early albums are quite good but it wasn't until about 1985 that they became big here in the UK. Listen Like Thieves was their first big hit album here which I think was the 5th album release by the band if I remember correctly. Take care Melinda.

What You Need was the song I remember first hearing from INXS. I instantly loved it. ♥️ Then came Kick and they became a huge band here in the US. Thank you and take care. 🤗

I tend to be an OJ collector, but I understand what you go through. I will try a reissue if my OG isn't perfect, though.

Sometimes it's nearly impossible to get an original. In those cases a good reissue will do. ♥️🤗 Thank you and take care.
