There is a grain of truth in what you are saying. I personally prefer playing with population from 12 to 40 players. My playstyle works best for it and I get the most fun. Main reasons: 1. FPS is low. In my case on a 80 to 90 player server it may go below 20 in the middle of action. It means the firefights are more random than skill-based. 2. Hard to keep most of the players in the head and act tactically. I am much more likely to be killed by a random person while flanking or moving somewhere. Camping is much more effective than playing tactically. Again, more random that skill-based. 3. Personal duels against good players are much more rare. Moving to hunt someone specific is too risky. So I very rarely play on high population servers. But sometimes I do. My noobish teamates were unable figure out your tactic and were too scared to challenge it but steadily complained in the the side channel. Same thing with Radish who has a similar play style to yours. Deception is the greatest tool in War :)
The in-game settings are default. I use Sound BlasterX G1. It is a 7.1 sound card which also applies some sound effects. I record its output in Stereo with OBS. I personally love this sound card and can fully recommend it for gaming. Audiophiles criticize it for being not so good at music, but it is a gaming-oriented product and it is relatively cheap.
Just listened on another PC with normal sound card and headphones. I can confirm that what you hear is very close to what I hear when I play. Both in terms of spatial 7.1 sound and sound effects.

Some evenings I can't play at all because everything is empty. 20 is pretty good luck for my timezone. 3. Games with less population are much more skill-based than high-population ones. On high-pop you just camp a nice spot with an MG and you get plenty of kills. At the same time if you try to act tactically, moving around, flanking and intercepting people, you have much more chances of getting killed by a random level 1 guy camping a totally irrelevant building. 4. At high-skill you mostly fight other high-skilled players personally, and killing other random players is just a backdrop for that main action. I generally do not publish games where the opposing teams do not have players who are used to occupying the first rows of the scoreboard when I am not around. Here those are at least Esco and Qin. bro
Please show me another player without skill who gets 1st and second place in the same game with more than three times the amount of kills of the second best player. Even on a 20-player server.
And sadly amount of hours does not mean much. I know many players who have thousands, but are still bush-camping with Cyruses. I'm up for a duel, if you want to demonstrate real skill.

Im not saying you are not good at arma but is a lot easier with few enemies, on a 90 player server you would die constantly

Yes. First person only. IMO Arma should not have TPS at all and I almost exclusively play on hardcore first person servers.
