Can you guys play for my Mother's 90th birthday party? She's originally from Edinburgh (war bride) and I want to give her a true throw-down authentic ceilidh to celebrate! We're in Buffalo, NY. Party is in March 2017!
Would love to hear you play a set of 9/8 jigs for Strip the Willow, to give dancers the time they need to swing each person in turn and get back to their partner. The dance was originally choreographed to a slip jig but this seems to have been forgotten along the way.
bladereturns The tune around 0:53 sounded really familiar, looked through all my music, finally realised it's in a set of jigs by The Chair - think it's called "The jigs" on their album "Huinka". Doh. If you ever find out what it's really called, I'd be interested to know!
Does anyone know the name of this kind of music? I know it's Irish, but when I'm looking for spotyfi, I only find the normal slow classical Irish folk music
@@almac-pj3oc yes i’m well aware of most americans ignorance. i wouldn’t have thought it something worth boasting about, it reflects quite poorly on your country
Kiitos YTL

This is Scottish, not Irish! :)
Cheeky bastard
This is music to a traditional Scottish dance!
Nothing to do with the Irish.
For anyone who doesn't understand what all the Finns are going on about: this song was in the national English matriculation exam.

Ahhhhh kk
I absolutely love this. Not many better introductions to traditional British culture/s.
