- In today's MTG 93/94 battle we have two decks that are synergised around powerful enchantments from Legends. I am playing the infamous Land Tax / Land's Edge combination together with a sneaky Wrath of God plan. My opponent is brining an Underworld Deck to the table. His goal is to cast the Dreams asap and let his opponent (me) draw himself to death with some of the most powerful spells in the game of Magic, such as Wheel of Fortune and Time Twister.

Woo! I do love running skew decks. They either work really really well, or... you get what we had here. I'm a little disappointed I didn't get the Turn 3/4 kill in even 1 game, but I tried to play the cards that I drew the best I could. Thank you Timmy for the games! It was my first time playing through the internet, which in itself was enough to make me happy. Thanks for your patience in working through my newbie issues. I look forward to the rematch!

I’ve always thought Jade Statue was sorely underrated, I used to play with them all the time, I miss my beta playset lol
It worked like a charm in this match-up, although the 2 to activate it is a bit awkward with the Edge strategy.
@@TimmytheSorcerer it’s fantastic early on if you can find your mana rocks, thing can block just about anything on the ground, even a juggy and shuts down factory workers lol

I agree. I think Jade Statue is good. That 6 toughness blocks so much. It dodges Abyss, Wraiths and Sorcery speed removal. You can play it defensively or offensively. I think it's a good card. The flavor text is great too!😆

Sweet Deck Timmy! Your Gargoyles did some work! I think your opponent should have made room for some factories, I think they are just too good not to run, especially since he's running Abyss. I also think he should have slotted in 1 or 2 Tetravus, at least in the sideboard. Your deck Timmy was Chef's kiss! It's nice to see a pink control deck rather than a pink aggro deck. It's a nice change of pace. Keep up the great content! Mahalo!
Thanks for the feedback. Yes, Marco's deck is cool and has space for tweaks/upgrades that are affordable. Deck constructing is like sculpting, right? I have the same with my Tax Edge deck, every match you learn and you're able to tweak it further.
@@TimmytheSorcerer Agreed. Marco's deck has some beautiful and strong cards. I can tell he put thought and care into his build. I think with some tweaks, his deck will have more teeth. Looking forward to a possible rematch episode!

Haha I laughed about the comment in the first game about building a deck around a card and then you never draw the card! That kept happening to me with an Enduring Renewal / Ball Lightning combo I built a deck around, I would draw and draw and draw and I would be like, WHERE ARE MY COMBO CARDS!!!!

Ok now I am confused. In a previous game, we talked about the stack. In that previous game a shatter was used on an artifact. And the controller was still able to use the artifacts ability, even after shatter was cast.
In this game though. A disenchant was used on a chaos orb, but in this game. The chaos orb was destroyed. And the person wasnt allowed to use its ability.
I recall someone like Brian weissman explaining some strange aspects of how chaos orb works due to the card remaining in play after its self-destruct ability is triggered. This is a unique circumstance and may be the reason why it could be disenchanted like that
Absolutely, Chaos Orb is a unique card that has its own errata to make it playable and flip those orbs 🔥 You can find more information about it here, oldschool-mtg.blogspot.com/p/banrestriction.html?m=1
It has to do with whether or not the artifact's ability is dependent upon the artifact being in play when it resolves. Artifact abilities like those on Chaos Orb and Tawnos's Coffin rely on them being in play when they resolve. So, if you Disenchant in response to a CO activating, you no longer have a CO to flip when its own ability resolves, since the Disenchant has removed the CO from play by the time its ability has resolved. The CO's ability still goes on the stack like any other artifact, it's just that you no longer have a CO when its ability resolves -- so it fizzles.
Chaos Orb goes on stack.
\_ Disenchant goes on stack.
\_ Disenchant resolves, removing Chaos Orb from play.
\_ Chaos Orb resolves, but there's no Chaos Orb to flip.

It’s pretty simple, If they activate the orb then respond with a disenchant, the stack which is basically LIFO (last in first out) kicks in and the disenchant resolves before the orb is active. If the orb is activated after the disenchant, LIFO says the orb goes off first.

Granite Gargoyle is total jank. The Underworld Dreams deck is missing a key piece…Fork. Also Winds Of Change is jank and Balance doesn’t belong. He should run 4x Howling Mine and a Copy Artifact. Fastbond and Regrowth are good too.
