- Coromandel - one of the finest areas to visit in New Zealand. Sit back and relax as we take you to some places you'll definitely want to visit!
Stop 1 - Our opening scene, also used in the Narnia movie.
Te Whanganui-A-Hei otherwise known as Cathedral Cove
If you're planning a visit to New Zealand - Coromandel, Cathedral Cove is a must visit destination with its iconic cave and stunning beach. Get ready for a bit of a scenic bush walk down to the famous cove and make sure you watch the video for some handy parking tips.
Stop 2 - When you're in Coromandel Town and hunger kicks in, you just have to get some Coromandel green lipped muscles. We stop off at Pepper Tree Restaurant and Bar in Coromandel Town to get some of these tasty molluscs and some delicious calamari too.

Hours: Monday - Sunday 10am-9pm
Stop 3 - With our bellies full it's time for another famous spot, Hahei Hot Water Beach. This hot water beach is on Mercury Bay on the east coast of the Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand, approximately 12 kilometres south east of Whitianga. An amazing phenomenon occurs at this beach where if you dig up holes in the right spot you actually get access to hot spa-like waters. Go prepared with your spade and make yourself your very own hot spa pool on the beach.
Stop 4 - We retire for the evening at Dawn's AirBnb

If you're looking for a great place to stay in Coromandel Town, Dawn's AirBnb is a lovely little home away from home and such a cute cabin accommodation located on a farm and in a very convenient area of Coromandel Town. Dawn is a fantastic host so definitely check out her Coromondel accommodation if you're looking for a great place to stay. Fits 3 people very comfortably and if you're lucky you'll get a visit from her cute cat and dogs!
Stop 5 - On our final day we head over to Whitianga which is a short approximately 45 minute drive away from Coromandel Town to go to another one of our must visit spots. The Lost Spring. Enjoy this hidden paradise with geothermal spas and hot pools in a beautiful secluded nature setting. The Lost Spring in Whitianga is particularly enjoyable in cooler weather. You can even order some food and drinks to enjoy by the hot pools.

Stop 6 - Finally if you're craving Asian food there aren't that many choices in Coromandel Peninsula but over in Whitianga we take you to our favourite Asian (Thai) restaurants, The House of Chang Thai.

There's also a red lip mussel around the area. That's my fav mussel. Meat has a nice reddish colour and is so sweet. Yum.

It's one of favorite areas of New Zealand too. Especially for the muscles. Tauri I can't believe it never heard if red lipped muscles before. Needa find a place that serves these ASAP cause wanna try em. The sweet meat sounds bomb 😁👍👍👍

Yeah that Airbnb is something special. Located on a classic kiwi farm and hand built by dawn's husband. Can't recommend it enough. O and lost spring no walks needed just pure r&r leisles will def enjoy that one 😂👍

Parking is such an important thing for us cause getting to these great places is a part of the struggle they can sometimes be out in the middle if no where or some difficult as journey to get there. Luckily New Zealand is point anywhere shoot and it'll prolly be beautiful hahaha

That's wat ur vlogs remind me of. I loved watching it because it always showcased the best of a travel destination and that's what you guys do. This is an awesome travel guide. Transportation, eats, amenities, and accommodation! Hot water beach sounds a spot I could just chill and hang for daysss haha. Outdoor hot springs sounds relaxing too. I have only been to indoor ones here in the pacific northwest. Awesome video guys! One day I will visit

Hey Dave north island has some real awesome spots but people often overlook it and go straight to south island. It was cool to show off some of these cool lil places that we've been coming to for years. I think you and the kids would love hot water beach, kids dig up a hot water hole for you to enjoy 😂

Coromandel is definitely a gem of a place. The area is blessed with outstanding seafood and so the restaurants are able to serve fantastic muscles. On top of that the are is so picturesque everywhere. This was just a magical trip 😁🌿👌

That's one of the best Airbnb that we've stayed at in New Zealand. Dawn just went out of her way making our stay great. Not only that it was the cheapest place listed for Coromandel on those dates. The fury friends was a massive plus too ❤

A lot of the more rural New Zealand places are very quiet even though they are spectacular as most tourists head only to queenstown and Milford sound or Auckland. It's pretty cool for us local kiwis though cause we get the spots free of crowds hahaha. Thanks for watching!

Once Upon a Time (about 60years ago) we lived on the farm in Purangi . Hahei was just down the road and the original homestead is still there at Hahei. Built by Robert Wigmore in 1874 and it is a lovely old house built from Kauri . Robert Wigmore was said to be the tallest man in NZ , standing 6'8' and a half. To get to Cathedral Cove then meant walking through paddocks on Harsant's farm . Happy childhood memories .

Coromandel is a spot most Aucklanders know well but many tourists would overlook. Lost springs should definitely go on your bucket list if you visit. We've hung out the whole day there just eating and chilling out by the pool it's magical. 😅🤞 no cyclones blow off into the ocean somewhere please

Details can turn a good thing great and that was certainly the case with dawn's Airbnb. The moment we saw it lit up at night we were like wow. The wow kept coming as we explored the place and reached an all time wow peak when dawn came out and showed us a goodie bag and fire place 😁❤ miss this place
New Zealand never ceases to AMAZE us with its beauty 😍 and the BEST part is you can walk through all of the nature and not worry about the hundreds of spiders and snakes that could kill you 😂 hot water beach is so unique! Is the water just hot from being underground? Mmmmmm that pad thai 😍 yum yum yum!

It really is a nice welcome treat in such a small town. I remember back in the days most of these towns only had a bakery and a fish and chips store hahaha. Come a long way now 👌

Coromandel is awesome, spent a lot of time down there during teens and early 20's, but guess we were lucky to be doing that back when friends and family always knew someone who had a bach or beach house for us to crash at down there for free and there was certainly no seasonal parking times or paid parking at a beach 😱.
Still, definitely one of those areas we visit when we are home even if just for a weekend so. Really interesting to see how much some of those locations have changed.
Same with me! Only it was my early teens that I would go to friends bachs in that area. Making fires by the beach chilling at night it was good times. Couldn't believe the paid parking lol that's a shock for us too. 😂 I've always wanted to do movie references in our intros this was the perfect opportunity 😁👍

The Airbnb was an amazing stay if you guys ever find yourselves in coromandel definitely find that spot can't recommend it enough. Hahaha hopefully we did capture the magic of this awesome location 😁🌿

Hey bro glad you got the Narnia reference hahaha 😁👍 it is pretty similar in that the hot water occurs naturally through fissures underground. One of the benefits of living in a country with a ton of volcanoes 😅✌

I've notice NZ food are expensive compared to Australia. In Melbourne we get fresh local produce mussels meal for half of what you guys pay but saying that your meals loos amazing!
😅 yeah eating out in New Zealand is definitely on the pricier side but as you say it tasted delicious so all is ok 😁👍
