"I wasn't speeding, I was just hurrying." I'll have to try that one sometime...
Me too! Or try telling the cop you're on the way to get married. That seems to work too.
One of the funniest movies of precode Hollywood! Enjoyed every minute of it and watched several times. Great acting, fantastic dialogues. Thank you for posting that movie. Too bad Rex Lease didn't make comedy movies I guess, besides that one. Mostly unappealing Westerns. But boy, oh boy, he was so boyishly handsome!
She has the most versatile lipstick ive ever seen
Delightful, lots of funny stuff. Thank you for posting
😂😂😂
Definition of ‘Coupee’: A two-door automobile with fixed-roof and (usually) sloping back - worn on the head to cover a bald-spot.
😉😁
Loved every minute of it. Bad movies can be the best!
Mary Kim . Are you serious? I don't believe you. This great movie is a bad one? I guess you haven't seeing many black and white and especially pre code Hollywood - plenty of them just lousy! This movie is funny because of great acting , script and casting. Combination of all these makes a fantastic movie.
Pre-code by timeline only. Not going to make it on a TCM compilation DVD.
Still, gotta love discovering all of Frank Strayer's movies.
this might be the best movie ever made
The actor in the wicker wheelchair plays the same crotchety old geezer in the same wicker wheelchair four years later in _Bright Eyes (1934)._
Extrêmement amusant ! A lot of funny lines ! (best excuse Award : "I never has been anywhere before").That could be an on stage comedy . I read that the writer, Scott Darling, "was blamed for scripting some of the worst Laurel and Hardy features (IMDb source ) ", but here, he makes the thing very enjoyable !
The naive cop at the start was Paul Hurst. He played the soldier shot by Scarlett on the stairs in Gone with the wind
How did these cops know they were speeding?
This was a great comedic film, corny jokes and all. I rate this an 9.
Slap stick 😜 silly! funny I wonder where that magnificent lamp in the last scene is today.
The funniest scene was when the kittens appeared.
05:58 - "Don't call my dame a tomata!"
Bull Morgan does a great W.C. Fields imitation
Great fun ! thanks ...
11:57 - "Well... I may be weak, but I'm no _hussy._ "
"she aint that kind of a guile"
“Say do you drive a yellow coups” 🤣....be water 💦
There appears to always be a creepy haunted house in these 30's and 40's movies.
I wonder in the history of American film how many of these were made. Some are scary, but most were funny; or at least tried to be.
I love the old haunted houses; kind of like Tim Burton’s movies with an extra coat of “varnish”🤗
@@389383They were always fun.
love this movie its the story characters and storyline that make it damn good
A fun movie! Thanks! 🌈🌈🌈
Clever story!
Reminder to add to list to watch soon.
Watch soon.
very enjoyable 🎥🎥🎥🥂
" make a perfect imitation of a loving husband..." hahaha
The tall guy in this movie looks like the guy who played the stage manager in the lost Technicolor film On With The Show
I wonder if there are any of those vintage bikes kicking around. Anyone know?...
That cop administered an ass-whoopin' at 59:59!
Whats the name of the actor who plays Mr.Parker?Ive seen him many times and is always good value.
It’s the wind. It affects the wires.
THE TRANSCRIPT FEATURE WITH THESE VIDEOS IS QUITE CLEVER!
Very funny!

Indian motorcycles for police in those days, fuel hand on the left ,gun hand on the right
I have to admit that I am not into motorcycles but became interested when my neighbor mentioned that he wanted an Indian motorcycle. That is the first time that I ever heard of that brand!
@@denisejohnson2960 Indian Motorcycles (1901 - 1953) was direct competition to Harley Davidson (1903 - present) for decades.
cute movie I got tickled as the one guy in the bed looked like his lipstick was as red as the girl under the bed :)
Yeah the make-up person really laid it on thick.
I'm too softer...
Simplicity in the story...in that time..
“Say do you drive a yellow coupay “ 🤣be water 💦
Actually it's spelled coupè. Just sayin'. 🙂
amberola1b thank you didn’t know that
Who turned out the lights??!! Must have been that mountain lion.
How can this be a pre-code movie when it says in the opening credits "Passed by National Board of Review?"
It was not the Hayes Code. Much more lax before 1935, the Hayes Code changed everything....
Movie was made in 1930. Precode Hollywood
I do not even know for what term PRE CODE stands for

@@-oiiio-3993 thank you 😉
I only watch silent and 1929, 1930 & 31 movies...
Hi Jet 🍕here’s something for you 🍕czcams.com/video/oexCcsLmG1w/video.html
5:56 Don't call my "Tomato" a "Dame".
That's funny but, probably went by most viewers.
How do you remember this ?
'Dame' was OK, it may have
been a little slurry;
but 'tomāta' was no doubt
disparaging (lower class).
You got it backward.
The line was, "Don't call my dame a tomata!"
@@-oiiio-3993 I know I got it backwards. I just thought it sounded funnier that way.
@@im1who84u Tomataoe, tomata.
Potatoe, potata.
Let's call the old dame off.
wow, what a wonderful movie, fantastic comedy.
Nita Martan is so cute and God damn it, she is HOT!
thanks for posting this hidden gem, this unknown masterpiece. it was an extremely enjoyable film, simply perfect!
+80s beginner, the only problem is if she were alive today, she would be 100+. But that's ok by me, I've got a thing for these old chicks when they were young too.
thanks for the response.
you're right, she WAS cute/hot, my mistake ;-)
about 1600 C.E. --> Prince Hamlet had such a beautiful dilemma: to be or not to be?
2017 --> what dilemma have I got? :(
to feed (the troll MetroBəse ) or not to feed? :((
what do you say Bear one hundred and thirteen? it's up to you! ;-)
+MetroBase, so what's your problem couch potato? I unfortunately am 77 and way to old to chase after the young chicks and can't stand the busy body old bags that constantly talk behind everybody's back. I like the girls in the older films. Most depict the clean well mannered girls of that day. Put them up against any foul mouth sexpot actress of today and the 20s & 30s gals get my vote every time. You have your choice and we have ours. Just remember sour apples grow in every orchard.
Some mealy mouthed jockstraps watch these grand old films ?
Cute flick
Hilarious
