NO MORE RUBBING . NORCAL MOD

  • Lifted Silverado mods . we did a norcal modification on my 2016 Silverado . It sits on 20x12x-44 33s tall tires and a level kit. The truck was rubbing when I turned so I cut some metal out of the fire wall, to get a little more room.wit no trim plate.
    Anyone that has owned or worked on a later model GM truck can attest to the tire clearance limitations from the squared off fenders. While installing a lift is a common solution, even then clearance can be limited and running wider wheels and more aggressive offsets may still cause clearance issues when turning the wheel tightly or cycling the suspension during offroad use.

    I have a 3 inch leveling kit on my 14 silverado wheel size 33x12.5x22 -44 offset. Did the nor cal mod and trimmed a little bit from my front bumpers. I can do a u turn both sides with no rubbing. I also can back in full lock both ways no rubbing 🙌🏼. Your video was spot on what I needed.

    Roughly how many inches of clearance do you think you gained?

    • @mrmidnight32
      @mrmidnight32 Před rokem

      It gains about 2” depending on how much you cut.

    I have some 22s on 33 in. mud wheels and I just added 2 in. spacers but i can’t drive the truck because it rubs really bad. Do you think doing this will work or should I just send the spacers back

    This is the worst way to do a nor cal if you have a welder. Do not do this. Only cut from the bottom and reweld if you have a welder.
    If you don’t I understand why you have to do it this way.
