- This was my first Gathering in Virginia and was pretty stoked how it turned out. Got to talk with a lot of cool people in the community and overall have a good time. The swimbait fishing community has been a great community to be involved in and I hope to see it keep growing.

Bend in the pin kid has a future in making baits. Love seeing young folks hustling and going for their dreams.
Wow, I'm in swimbait/glidebait heaven. Everyone there owes debt of gratitude to the one and only original inventor of the first big swimbait, Allan Cole and the AC plug in the late 1980s in S Calif. We fished with his garage made monster plugs in lakes and reservoirs around Southern calif and clobbered giant bass and stripers for about 2-3 years, until the word got out in the early 1990s. His lure was the first to start this big fish phenomenon, almost 40 years ago
I still have the AC plugs, 7”-9”-12” and I still use them. I’m here up in Nor Cal. I’m an Old school swimbaiter!!
Allan Cole is super OG, I have a couple of his ac plugs as well!
Hype bait central! I need to make it to the next one
You won’t
I’ll pay for your flight
Hey Geoff, Thanks for the peek at the show. It’s awesome to see all the different types of baits on display. Is the show at the same time & place? Please remind us next year. How can I find some of these bait makers?
A swimbait meet up!!! So freaking cool dude. Love this. Keep up the great content.
What a great event. I need to hear about the next one earlier, so I can plan a trip.
You are the man Geoff, I live vicariously thru you sir! Japan trips all the gatherings…. Fish with butch!!! Lucky dog, live it up bro!
Haha thanks for watching the videos man! Appreciate it🙏
The OG big bait meet up was "Bass-A-Thon". Being part of the San Diego fishing scene back in the 2000's was pretty special. Im still fishing local tournaments. My friend and I just won the Paul Leader Memorial tournament "The Two Day" but no bragging back to my point... It was really special to see the progression of the swimbait culture. Things like leaving work because my friend calls me stuttering, "I think I caught a record" to see him with a fish pushing 19lbs.. Or A. Hinkle coming up to me all secret like with a huge grin being so proud of his "cool scale design" he put on his bait he carved. I remember the Mike L. drama, that was a mess.
Oh heres a funny one, so I was on my way to Lake Dixon and I didnt bring a jacket but I had recently been given John Murrays 1994 BASS Champion Ranger jacket by a mutual friend (who is not related to fishing) to give back to John (who I dont know but she figured I was her best bet of getting back to him after having it for probably 20 years). So on my way to Dixon with no jacket I fugured it wouldnt hurt anyone if I wore it because nobody knew who I was at Dixon anyway. Well.... apparently, the day prior, these three gentlemen had ended up catching the world record bass because there was a news crew and there I was Mr guy walking up in this blue and white BASS Champion jacket. Well, I was standing there in astonishment being told the world record was just caught. With a camera in my face I had enough time to take off the jacket before they asked my name and start the interview. Needless to say the jacket never again adorned my body and years later at Bass-A-Thon I finally had the opportunity to meet John Murray. I told him the story how I aquired the jacket (not the Dixon story) and he graciously advised I could keep it but circling back to one of my first statements. It was a special time to be a part of the San Diego fishing scene.
Oh man. You were in my backyard! So bummed I missed you. Will definitely catch you next year. Glad you came out to Virginia!
I will definitely be going back out there again! VA is super cool!
Great Video, Brother. Cool to see you and Adrian flipping through the Zine. Appreciate you guys mentioning the Trophy Talk Article. Love to pick your brain for Trophy Talk in the future. 🤟
Adrian is my guy, might have to write an article sometime for the Zine!
@@crazybassfisher I'd love to see it happen!

Nice video! I got involved with BIG SWIMBAITS ....Because of YOU! THANK YOU ! I work 48 to 60 hours a week (big baits are expensive) I really don't follow SU, but I would like to suggest ....In your videos let your subscribers know when there is gonna be another swimbait show. Thanks & keep doing what you're doing...
Thanks for watching! I asked the people that ran this event if they were gonna do another one in Texas next year and the answer was uncertain so who knows when the next one is
Good stuff!! And welcome to VA!
Thanks for watching! VA is a pretty cool place! Need to go back again!
Was an awesome event! Didn’t get to talk to you but I shook your hand and introduced myself. Was tough fishing Sunday!
Nice meeting you man, there is always next time to talk more! That place had me tripping haha, tough fishing but I can see how it could be fun!
Am amazing, Gathering great content, Geoff. 🎣🍻☮️😎
Thanks for watching my guy🤙
Man missed the show did not know about it that sucks . Need some new baits and would have been cool to meet you. Dam. I follow the hook up every Sunday. That lake you were fishing g here has some very big bass in it have got some monsters out of there that is a great pattern there. My friend and club member lives on that lake . Have some big fish spots to catch some monsters on all your baits and top water . Thanks again for another awesome video. Late
Missed it this year, last year's was great. Picked up some Throwback Baits Flee Shad, Wake Walker -- in fact, they were the sole reason I went last year. Looks like things have expanded a bit. I've been meaning to buy some of those Handcrafted Lures...they have a def Roman Made vibe.
Throwback makes some awesome baits, glad to see that they are doing well!
please let us know if the swimbait show comes to Florida!
Great days my brotha!!!! Cheers!! :))
Thanks for watching man! Hope you’ve been catching them!
Killer bro!! Sweet baits out there 🤙 dope vid!!

Likewise, nice meeting you as well, hope you enjoyed the event!
Those mouse baits looked really cool at the beginning
They definitely caught my eye for sure
I was there, and it was a great gathering!!!
It was definitely a really cool event!
Wish they would do this during the bassmaster classic! Let’s find a venue in conjunction with the classic!
That would be really cool!
I see u picked up a king for the king. Hopefully they return to fork this spring, I will go if they do. Closer drive for me.
I’m hoping the same! The Texas gathering was sick!
What a sick video bro. so jealous of all this. love the Chad shad. been smoking them on it. caught 7 today. 3 over 5 on it
That’s an insane day! That bait works magic!
@@crazybassfisher agreed.

In one of the clips in the background you can hear some dude go 'im a finesse fisherman ' 😂😂😂😂😂
😂😂😂😂
Who made that trout glide at the end of the video? I need that in my life.
BLT?
What is the name of the company that you interviewed first? Where the guy was dropping in nail weights?

That fish anything glide straight ripped off Bull Shad.
Thanks for watching 🙏
I actually have been making these designs before Mike Bucca had a shad glide
How do us anglers find out about upcoming swim bait meet ups or trade shows?
This one was advertised on Swimbait Universe on Facebook
@@crazybassfisher thank you.
That scales n tales guy needs to learn how to grow a full mustache
What was gonna happen if Adrian got in the way one more time???
That guy is holding back the entire swimbait community to be honest
@@crazybassfisher real
What’s up with the 3 crosses in the video? Was it held at a church or something???
I believe so, yes
Wish there was something like this in Wisconsin. Nothing cool in my state. Sad.
Haha a northern Midwest one would be rad though
How outta touch you gotta be to display a Nessie at the gathering SMH
😂
Yea first swimbait i bought was the rainbow trout Castaic swimbait.
